Magazine Reviews

The following are reviews of science fiction and fantasy magazines that I've read, primarily of the short fiction in each magazine. These reviews are initially posted in my journal as they're finished, but also kept here. The versions here may be edited, clarified, and updated from the original versions posted in my journal.

The reviews are just my personal opinion based on how much I like a story, although I try to provide some analysis of why I hold that opinion. I try to avoid major spoilers, but it can be very hard to review short fiction without giving at least some hint of the direction of the story. Please see my review philosophy for more details on how and why I review and rate books, most of which is also applicable to magazine reviews.

I also have an index of short SFF reviews that includes all the individual stories of the above magazines plus book collections and anthologies.

A rating of 5 indicates that I felt neutral about the magazine after having read it. Anything below 5 means that I considered reading the magazine to be a waste of my time.
