Meredith was the daughter of Alexander and Lorelei. Since Deirdre refused to allow any of her relatives near her children until they reached the age of nineteen, she was raised in dreamy isolation within summery Broceliande by her grandmother, abandoned by both her parents by the age of five. She vanished when the universe slumbered, and when Ambrium woke anew it was found she had been transformed into the Guisel Queen by her great-aunt Darthene and her `cousin' Andelia as part of the ongoing war with Corwin. Whether willing or not, she became a horror, slaughtering Rebmans by the legion. She finally became the Phoenix after being killed by Thalion.
