The Beat marks the triumphant return of Peter Milan to Omega, and of Jimmy Denton to Omega Earth. He thought he'd seen it all in Transverse City, the terminus of millions of extradimensional portals, but he's finding out that the old homestead's been undergoing some renovations while he's been away. It's the story of a reporter interacting with celebrities and zealots, ex-terrorists and cougar men, teenaged gods and Avatars of the Mass Mind on a date, all while working the Omega Beat for Info Magazine.
