A

AGONY : She's a second generation Omega, although she didn't know that until a year ago (Her father is Wolf DuFresne, formerly of Defcon One, who can animate the inanimate) Jen possesses superhuman strength, speed and resistance to injury, rapid healing, and limited Telepathy that was once only capable of projecting pain messages. She is a former Colonist.

ALPHAS, The: A religous faction that believes that normal humans are God's "created" and Omegas are spawn of Satan's corruption. Much of the Alpha movement was engineered by the Black Circle, and even though that backing is now gone the Alpha's sentiment has taken root enough that it will most likely survive the burgoning popularity of Omegas.

ANDERSON, Daniel: One of the world's premier Telepaths, Danny Anderson was the founder of and leader of 'The Colony' and remains one of the preminent paramilitary minds with Omega powers. His telepathic gifts have been inherited by his daughter Joanie. Daniel attempts to lead a normal life with his wife Mirry, but the siren call of crisis always lures him into action. He opposed Dynamax 's horrible Project: PULSE experiments (PULSE 1-17) and was the first person on site in Vlaztinskoya during the Kulak's Incident (PULSE 11-13, TEMPEST 6) He thinks in terms of tactics and conflict, and is paranoid to the point of perpetual readiness.

ANDERSON, Elizabeth Marder: A genius in Omega Genetics, Elizabeth Anderson was Jarvin Tazakles' willing accomplice and lover, and the doctor responsible for the original shape of Project: PULSE. She was married to Eric Anderson Sr. and was the mother of Danny and the adoptive mother of Eric. She and her husband died at the hands of Dynamax security, when Tazakles began to fear that she was about to turn on him.

ANDERSON, Eric: See Tempest

ANDERSON, Joanie: Daughter to Danny and Mirry, she is a third generation Omega who has inherited her father's telepathy (and thus her biological grandfather's, Jarvin Tazakles) as well as her mother's healing abilities. As a telepathic toddler, she requires that her parents teach her to shield her mind.

ANDERSON, Mirry : Danny's wife, a strong telepath with empathic healing abilities and a General Practicioner with several years experience in Combat Medicine (As well as a year residency in a Chicago ER) Mirry is Joanie's mother and one of the founders of the Colony. Unlike her husband, Mirry attempts to think the best about people, but she's quite capable of taking hostile action if called for. She wouldn't mind living a life outside of Omega menaces, but she doubts that will happen. She and Danny together are maintaining Joanie's shields.

ANTI-P size="1">SI : The psionic ability to negate or neutralize other psionic powers. Also see Null-P size="1">SI

ANTIGONE : Disputed leader of the Vitalongae.

ARKTISH - Leader of the Harrakin War Priests. Son of Hallatris.

ASTRAL : This psychic killer used to be a member of Jarvin Tazakles' Havoc Squad, a team of Omegas who did his dirty work. They were all killed in the destruction of Dynamax Detroit, but Astral's power (her spirit could leave her body) enabled her mind to survive. She became a psychic parasite, drawing mental energy for sustenance and even stealing the body of Anne Benson . Anne and Avatar of the Seekers stopped her, and she is now imprisoned in a magic bottle in Hannibal's safe keeping.

ASTRAL PROJECTION: The ability to seperate the mind from the body and have it move independently.

ASTRAL SPACE: The zone of "Space" where telepathy occurs. It does not actually exist in a physical sense, and can only be reached by telepathic means.

AUSTIN, Greg: Childhood friend of Brian Symsek.

AVATAR : Thomas Morgan, an agent of the Seekers with a powerful astral- projection ability. Morgan is a big fan of detective movies, and his astral form often resembles a hard-boiled private eye. He started becoming close to Anne Benson after they teamed up to stop Astral, and began seriously dating her within the next year. So far their relationship has survived all manner of challenges, from emotional crises to alien invasions.

B

BATTERY/REWIRE : Twins Jacob and Heather Chevalier. They are child prodigies, both of who have many advanced degrees in various sciences. Jacob is an Omega forced to rely on an advanced suit of armor of his and Heather's design to stabilize his inherent Electrokinetic powers (Well, he didn't have to build it as Armor.) while Heather is the smarter of the two and has no obvious Omega powers. She may not be an Omega at all. They are both fifteen, and wear armor that allows them to fight on an enhanced level.

BENSON, Anne : Harvey's granddaughter, Anne has his impressive physical powers plus telepathy and telekinesis. After her fugitive career ended, she founded Omega House (# 17), a home for abandoned Omega children. It's also home to the Paint Crew, a band of relatively well-meaning delinquents with a knack for getting into trouble (# 23,24). Anne is currently dating Thomas Morgan, the astral-projecting Seeker codenamed Avatar, but she has close ties to many Omegas, ranging from her friendships with Tempest and the Colony to her exasperated alliances with Jean-Luc Steele ("The Fix Saga," #s 27-32). Anne has a naive but earnest morality and a refusal to kill which may be her greatest power—or, in a world of violence, her greatest weakness.

BENSON, Neil: Younger brother of Anne and grandson of Harvey "Overman " Hauptmann. Neil resented his grandfather and the pressures of his family, but can't deny his roots ever since he triggered Omega powers during the stress of the Invasion. He has Harvey's powers of strength, speed, and invulnerability. Benson fought beside the Paint Crew in Baltimore and has slowly been shedding his attitude to become a full-time Omega hero. But don't call him Overboy.

BLACK CIRCLE, The: An ancient organization of dark mages whose sole purpose is to amass as much power as possible for its members. Over the centuries it has adapted to the times in order to keep a hold on the various positions of power that it controls, from political leaders to religious icons. It helped fuel the tide of anti-Omega sentiment before the Invasion so that its members could ride the political tide, but was forced to change tactics after the Invasion undermined its work.

BLACKFRIARS: See The Odds

BOLESKINE: See The Odds

C

CADRE : This team was formed by Jean-Luc Steele when he defected from SIRECOM to fight Cornelius Owen. They were radical terrorists willing to do anything to further their pro-Omega cause. Members included Rift, a Native American teleporter; Rebecca, a sadistic Brazilian telepath; Vesper, who controlled light; Jove, a mentally-disabled giant; and Warstryke, a Syrian commando outfitted with cybernetic parts and a force- field generator. Rebecca, Vesper, Jove and Warstryke were killed by the Accursed during the Harrakin Invasion, while saving Paris. The experience greatly embittered Rift and Steele, who is rumored to be building a new Cadre...

CHEVALIER, Jacob: See Battery

CHEVALIER, Heather: See Rewire

CLARK, Harold : Professor of anthropology at Antioch university and part time dabbler in the occult. He was the inspiration for the theories that Allen Covenant's science later proved and acted as a mentor to Rene Johnson when she was chosen by the Mass Mind .

CLAIRSENTIENCE: The ability to sense without using one of the five senses, even at range. Clairvoyance is the Clairsentinence ability of sight. Analogs for all the other senses (taste, touch, smell, hearing) exist, as well for senses no human has.

COLONY, The: The former terrorist cell led by Danny Anderson, The Colony (named in a moment of rare whimsy for a compound in Danny's least favorite movie, THE HOWLING) was dedicated to the preservation of Omega lives and the downfall of Dynamax and Jarvin Tazakles. Disbanded in the wake of Dynamax's dissolution, it had several Omegas of note as members, including Eric 'Tempest' Anderson, Jennifer 'Agony ' DuFresne, Thomas-Peter Mutsafa, Jimmy DeLeon, and Angela 'Angel Streak' Strang. Several Colonists died in the events chronicled in the Tazakles Gambit storyline, including James Lao and Warren Harmon Davis. While disbanded, The Colony often rides again in times of trouble (Tempest 17-20, INVASIONS)

COVENANT, Allen: Noted parapsychologist and scholar of the arcane, Allen Covenant has spent much of his recent history tracing the connections between magic and psychic phenomina. After losing an arm in Italy ("A Step Too Far", #'s 10-14) and being paralyzed while investigating an anti-Omega cult in Mt.Zion, Georgia ("Dona Nobis Pacem", starting in Voyeur #8) Allen managed to get himself healed after a group of his freinds embarked on a dream quest. ("Question of Faith", #'s 26-30.)

CRYOKINESIS: The ability to slow molecules with the mind, thus causing cold effects to occur. See Psychokinesis .

D

DARE, Nicola: A longtime agent of Cornelius Owen. She shot Jack Russell, inadvertantly triggering his Omega immortality; he later gave her a savage beating that hospitalized her. While in the hospital, she chose to undergo cybernetic conversion to keep pace with her Omega foes. The painful operations made Dare into a state-of-the-art cyborg who is now Owen's chief lieutenant and killer.

DEFCON ONE : The predecessor to the Seekers, this team of SIRECOM Omegas operated in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Its members went on to become some of the most important players of the present-day Omega universe: Jean-Luc Steele, Wolf Dufresne, Wes Hickman, and non-powered agent Dan Carter. The team also included psychic Cheryl Logan, who died in Defcon One's greatest battle against the Fix, and Harlem detective John Soul, who apparently died but actually had a different fate.

DELEON, James: An Omega with the strange intuitive power of invention, Jimmy DeLeon is Danny Anderson's best friend, as well as the one man who never treated Eric any differently before or after he gained his powers. Unhappy that his Omega does all the work, Jimmy wishes he could understand the science behind the amazing inventions he designs. His power has made the difference in Rig Veda (Practically every Omega title around #7 or so) and he is the designer of the Transmat, using stolen' Wrexxakt tech.

DREAMWALKING: The uncontrolled use of Telepathy while sleeping in order to visit other sleepers dreams. See Telepathy.

DUFRESNE, Jen: See Agony

DUFRESNE, Wolf : Former member of Defcon One, the SIRECOM team of Omegas from the late 70's, Wolf DuFresne has the Omega power to animate the inanimate. Past uses of this power have included giant robots, a milk truck, a boiler, the floor of a consulate, and the defense system of a pill manufacturer. Wolf's daughter, Jen DuFresne, did not inherit these abilities. He currently lives on the run, striking out at Stormkiller from hiding with his former Defcon One teammate Dan Carter. He was once employed by Dynamax, but resigned when he learned about Project: PULSE .

DYNAMAX : Biogenetics/Omega Countermeasures corporation founded by Jarvin Tazakles, Dynamax started in the late 70's when Tazakles and his college friends Elizabeth and Eric Anderson graduated from college. At first Dynamax specialized in high-tech derived from classified contracts to study the Omega, but eventually Jarvin's hunger for power caused them to go down shady research paths, leading to the vivisections of Project: PULSE, wherein kidnapped Omegas were cut apart to attempt an understanding of their powers. Dynamax developed the Psi-Suppressor, Psi-Negator, and was one of the few laboratories capable of developing and manufacturing feasible energy weapons. (Dynamax DX-10 Laser Cannon, Dx-200 Plasma Cannon).

E

EYE OF JUSTICE (Brian Symsek): A feeb from Calhoun GA, a former Dynamax employee, laid off from Fort Deliverance, and, oh yeah, the Eye of Justice. With advanced video equipment, has recorded many important and personal crimes from Dynamax murders to religious militants. Gained a reputation as a mysterious Atlanta-based video vigilante. Presumed by many to be an Omega . This mystique was fanned in part by the cynical manipulations of a tabloid journalist who made the EYE a household name to further his own interests. Brian's older brother is Chip, and childhood friend is Greg Austin, who still works for the Fort. [regular series _Voyeur_]

F

FEEB : Omega slang (after feeble) for a non-Omega.

FIX, The: An entry needing this Gazetteer value is.

FORT DELIVERANCE : A prison complex designed specifically to hold Omegas.

FUSION: See The Odds

G

GESTALT: The telepathic ability for a P size="1">SI to link minds with another P size="1">SI, combining the power and minds of both. See Telepathy .

H

HALLATRIS - Emperor of the Harrakin, father of Kyrian, and Eric Anderson 's grandfather.

HANNIBAL (and Jack Russell): These two immortals—one a modern-day cop, the other an ancient sage—are steadfast allies of Anne and Harvey Hauptmann. But their organization, the brotherhood of immortals called the Vitalongae, often falls under the sway of Antigone, leaving Hannibal and Jack to protect their world and their friends on their own. (See the Epitaphs miniseries, among other places.)

HARRAKIN : Human term for the race who call themselves Tisalth de Harrakiel'. The Harrakin are derived from human beings taken from Earth at some unknown time in Earth's past (possibly several million years ago, although a scale of several hundred thousand is more likely.) and altered by the harsh conditions and experimentation of the race they later named Wrexxakt. The Harrakin are a caste society who dominate a large interstellar empire, often fighting amongst themselves, and recently attempted to open relations with Earth, the planet they see as their homeworld. This led to the recent Harrakin War. Current opinion on the next stage in human/Harrakin relations is up in the air. They hate and have nearly exterminated the Wrexxakt as a race. Harrakin have, almost to a member, psionic powers, varying in intensity from nearly human to very powerful, and a racial stratification based on these powers.

HAUPTMANN, Harvey: See Overman.

HUGO, Javier: Co-founder of Dynamax corp who later retreated to head of security. A powerful but untrained telepath, he remained ignorant of the Black Labs through both manipulation by Tazakles and his own mind as it lied to itself about what was going on. He tried to kill Tazakles after learning the truth, but instead ended up getting killed. Since then, his spirit had manifested itself several times on account of the powerful psychic impression he left at his death.

I J

JOHNSON, Rene - "Niece" of Allen Covenant who was triggered while performing a Tarot card reading. (Covenant #10) Her powers, being symbolically linked to the whole of human conciousness, allowed her to become the avatar of the Mass Mind . After insisting that she kill all the Harrakin, Rene broke off from the Mass Mind and it went in search of a new avatar. She and Eric Anderson have a "thing."

JOVE: A member of the Cadre . Info?

K

KYRIAN - Son of Hallatris and father of Eric Anderson. He was the Harrakin who originally found Earth.

L

LOKAR : Name for a race derived from exiled Harrakin sixty-thousand or more years ago, the Lokar are seemingly insane and supposedly masters of genetic engineering.

LOKAR SHOCKBEASTS : Genetically engineered troops' used by the Lokar in military encounters.

LYRENIAN BROTHERHOOD, The: When a mage/ Omega from the later days of the Roman empire managed to subdue a Wrexakt base, he managed to synthesize a method for creating sorcerer-Omegas out of normal people. Based upon his own understanding, the mage Lyrenius created an order of sorcerers based upon the elements. When a disciple was ready to become a sorcerer, they were put through the "ritual." After a Stormkiller raid, the Brotherhood was scattered and the disc containing the information for the ritual taken by Allen Covenant The current whereabouts of the disc is unknown.

M

MAGIC : In the Omega Universe, magic is anything that relates to the symbolic conciousness of humanity and draws power from it. It can take the form of activating an Omega, calling upon spirits, manipulating the Mass Mind in the astral plane, or using a ritual to harness the mind's power without being an Omega. In reality, magic is simply another means to the same end that the Omega reaches. ( ARTICLE)

MAR'HAS'VARAK : Now the Harrakin Throneworld.

MASSMIND, The: All humans, Omega or non-Omega, emit a small amount of psions simply by thinking. Since the beginning of homo sapiens, these free floating psions have weaved themselves into a pattern shaped by the thoughts that created them. At some point, this pattern of thoughts and memories took on a vague form of sentience and becaome what is known as the Mass Mind. Over the millenia, the Mass Mind has adapted itself to efficiently absorb and burn off thoughts and memories in a complex psychic landscape that is somehow inherently tied to the Astral plane. Due to its bloated size, however, the core personality of the Mass Mind remains little more than that of a wild animal, reacting on instinct. It relies upon the memories contained within itself to interface with humans, which can cause a loss of identity after prolonged exposure.

MORGAN, Thomas: See Avatar

MUTSAFA, Thomas-Peter : Like Jen DuFresne and James DeLeon, Thomas-Peter is one of the remaining Colonists and the one who acts as a kind of glue to hold the family together. He has Pyrokinetic abilities which drove him from his native Kenya, and his near-death at the hands of Dynamax prevented him from becoming an architect, as he had wished. Thomas-Peter often acts as either fire-support or leader of a team action, and his strong sense of self and will have often allowed him to pull victory out of a disasterous situation. He likes to draw little sketches of the other Omegas he meets.

N

NEW ONES: The first humans to express PSI, also known as some of our earliest gods.

NULL-PSI: The power to absorb others PSI -Abilities in an attempt to neutralize them, this power is a hybrid of Psionic Vampirism and Anti-PSI .

O

ODDS, The: The Omega Defence Division, Britain's super-team. Members: illusionist Selkie, psionic brain-scrambler Ravebuster, spirit-conjuring sorceror Boleskine, energy thrower Fusion, and the mysterious vigilante Blackfriars. First and only pre-INVASIONS appearance is a cameo in Legacy Annual #1!

OMEGA: The basic definition of any superbeing in this universe (at least on Earth). Omegas, unlike Harrakin, tend to have varying psionic powers that do not conform easily to hereditary or dynastic lines, although such do happen. Omegas are latent in 12.5 percent of the current human race, and are a one in a million rarity at present, although more have been born in this century than in any previous one.

OMEGA HOUSE : A home in Laurel, Maryland, run by Anne Benson for abandoned or runaway Omega children, to help them adjust to the world. The House's most notable residents are the group known as the Paint Crew.

OVERMAN (Harvey Hauptmann): Born with Omega strength, speed, and invulnerability, Harvey was the secret inspiration for the comic-book hero "Overman." But when he volunteered for the army in World War II, he was jailed out of fear of his powers. Eisenhower eventually released him to fight in the European theatre, where he escaped and returned to America under an assumed name. He lived a lie for nearly 50 years, until his granddaughter Anne Benson's Omega powers were discovered, and SIRECOM began chasing both of them (Legacy 1-3). Anne and Harvey eventually won their freedom, toppled SIRECOM's corrupt director Cornelius Owen, and went public as national Omega celebrities ("Gimme Shelter," #s 8-11). As one of the most prominent and popular Omegas, Harvey often protects the public in times of crisis; all he really wants is to be one of the good guys.

OVERTECH : Technological design house founded by Danny Anderson and Jimmy DeLeon, Overtech is quickly filling the void left when Dynamax folded. At present, it employs such Omegas as Bob "Threll " Warskoviac, Jacob "Battery " Chevalier and the aforementioned Jimmy DeLeon. Due to exposure to Wrexxakt and Harrakin technology, Overtech is poised to become the dominant design firm in the 21st Century.

OWEN, Cornelius: The government official who sentenced Harvey Hauptmann to prison, Owen's paranoid fear of Omegas later led him to found SIRECOM . After he was toppled from power there, he created the Stormkiller agency for the United Nations. Ostensibly existing to protect the world from Tempest or the Harrakin, Stormkiller really only serves Owen's agenda. Owen was once partnered with the immortal Antigone, who supplied him with life-extension drugs; that partnership, and the UN's sponsorship of his Stormkiller agency, ended after the Harrakin Invasion. Now Owen has fled the U.S., is deprived of his drugs, and is no doubt plotting revenge. Owen constantly threatens the world with his vast resources, and henchmen like the cyborg Nicola Dare—but most of all with his tremendous intellect and his even greater hatred.

P

PAINT CREW : A group of delinquent Omega teenagers at Omega House . They were nearly roped into a life of crime until Harvey Hauptmann stopped them; some, though not all, have since reformed. The Paint Crew became national heroes when they halted the Harrakin destruction of Baltimore, at the cost of three kids' lives, including their leader, Carlos del Rio. Notable members now include Scott Dunleavy, master of sound, and magnetic-powered Suzanne Delors. John Potts, the most bitter Paint Crew kid, has left Omega House for parts unknown. The remainder of the Paint Crew seem intent on remaining heroes, despite its great cost.

PRISCUS - Norrek (coordinator) for the Emperor (Harrakin ).

PSYCHOKINESIS : The most common Psionic ability (only telepathy comes close), Psychokinesis is another umbrella term that covers all the ways to effect the physical universe with the mind. Electrokinesis, Photokinesis, Pyrokinesis, Cryokinesis, Telekinesis, Teleportation, and many other types of Psychokinesis exist. Any ability to affect the physical world with psionics, no matter how bizarre, is a Psychokinetic ability.

PYROKINESIS: The Psychokinetic abilty to agitate molecules, causing heat and fire effects. See Psychokinesis .

PULSE (Project): The infamous series of experiments conducted by Dynamax in the late 80's and early 90's that led to the formation of The Colony and the ultimate downfall of Dynamax Inc. Executed by Elizabeth Marder Anderson, MD, these vivisections and dissections allowed for a great understanding of the anatomical structure of Omegas...at a terrible cost in lives. Approximately 117 people died in the Project: PULSE laboratories, most of them low powered Omegas who couldn't escape.

RIFT: A teleporting member of the Cadre. Info?

RUSSELL, Jack: a new Vitalongae. See Hannibal for details.

S

SEEKERS, The: Omega Superteam. Gets grouchy without an info entry.

SELKIE: See The Odds

SESTUS: Once one of the Harrakin refugees to Earth, and leader of their diplomatic legation to the UN, Sestus' life changed forever when he was enslaved by the aging nihilist called the Fix . Her powers boosted his power but enslaved his mind, and Sestus received such a heavy dosage that the effect was permanent. He became mentally deranged, and easily manipulated by Tatris . Sestus was Tatris' chief henchman and the impersonator of Tempest, until he received his just desserts from the real Tempest in the Tisaridron.

SHARRA - Daughter of Tatris and a firm supporter of Eric (Tempest) Anderson (Harrakin).

SHERIDAN, Kyrie Alexander: See Tempest.

SIRECOM : (Special Intelligence Resources Command) A shadowy agency founded by Cornelius Owen and others to assert U.S. government control over Omegas . Owen ran the agency with absolute power—even after forced into retirement, he ran it through proxies. In the late 90s director Brenda Washington started fighting his control, and Owen was finally toppled from power when he went too far in pursuing an old vendetta against Harvey Hauptmann. SIRECOM is considerably more Omega-friendly now that Washington is in charge, and the Seekers are its top agents.

STEELE, Jean-Luc: Steele was once a top SIRECOM agent and leader of their 1980 Omega team, Defcon One (Legacy #29). Steele quit when he learned of Owen's secret agenda, and has spent the rest of his life fighting Owen and fascist authority in general. He has currently assembled the Cadre, a team of radical Omegas bent on changing the social order by any means necessary (Cadre #1-3). The other members are Rebecca, Jove, Warstryke, Vesper, and the teleporter Rift. Steele has an antagonistic relationship with the Seekers, and many tense alliances with Anne Benson, but in the end he and the other Omegas usually cooperate against their common foes ("The Fix Saga").

STINGRAY (Isaac Warner): Ex-pro wrestling champion known as Stingray and once one of Allen students in college. His physiology has been changed after being the recipient of many binding rituals. Now any psychic energy being directed towards him (say, from an arena of screaming fans), is used to enhance his physical attributes. Also, while in Italy with Allen Covenant, he witnessed the Black Mass and went insane. ("A Step Too Far") Since that day he has suffered apocalyptic visions even though cured. ("A Question of Faith")

STORMKILLER : Obstensibly aimed at defeating Tempest should he ever desire to take action against the world's governments, and later re-aligned to deploy against the Harrakin threat, Stormkiller really exists to fulfill Cornelius Owen 's desire for power. In the aftermath of the Harrakin War it has been disbanded, but many of its agents were personally loyal to Owen and the group may still function privately.

SYMSEK, Brian: See Eye of Justice

SYMSEK, Chip: Older brother of Brian Symsek.

T

TATRIS - Son of Hallatris who was the leader of the rebel contingent that originally came to Earth ( Harrakin). Father of Sharra.

TAZAKLES, Jarvin: Deceased but still felt, Jarvin Tazakles was the head architect behind Dynamax Inc. as well as one of the more powerful telepaths ever born. From College, Tazakles used his telepathy to bend people to his will, corrupting and controlling those he found necessary...or desireable...or both. He bedded Elizabeth Anderson, wife of his best friend Eric Anderson Sr. and sired Danny. Jarvin had alliances with Cornelius Owen (which didn't preclude the occasional assasination attempt) and was the man who dreamed up the infamous vivisections of Project: PULSE . He appeared in the GIMME SHELTER arc, and was a heavy presence in PULSE right up until his death in PULSE #17, the conclusion of THE TAZAKLES GAMBIT. He was obsessed with Chess.

TELEKINESIS: The Psychokinetic abilty to move things with thought alone. See Psychokinesis.

TELEPATHY : The psionic abilty of Mind to Mind contact, and far more. Telepathy is the second most common psionic ability. This ability includes Psychic surgery, Astral Projection, Psychic Vampirism, Dreamwalking, Illusion casting, and Telescanning (rapid telepathic searching of other minds to find specific information).

TELEPORTATION: The Psychokinetic ability to travel from point to point without traversing the space between. See Psychokinesis .

TEMPEST (Kyrie Alexander Sheridan, H'Rik HyRian Harrakin): One of the most powerful Omegas ever born, Eric has demonstrated the ability to traverse space and time nearly-instantly, read minds across the planet, and holds the dubious honor of being the man who destroyed Mount Everest. He is the adopted brother of Danny Anderson, and spent many years living in the Colony with his brother. Only after 'Triggering' did he learn of his Harrakin heritage and his true power. He has fought Lokar shockbeasts half-way across the Galaxy (Tempest 1-4) and ancient Chinese deities right here on Earth (Tempest 21-23).

THRELL : Another ex-student of Allen Covenant. He was rescued from Dynamax while having a prototype "psi-borg" unit installed on him, and over the years has become more and more mechanical as his human components break down. He is currently employed by Jimmy Deleon at Overtech .

TISALTH de HARRAKIEL': see Harrakin.

TRIGGER, The: The Trigger, intended to eliminate all intelligent life on earth, it now gives psionic power to those who inherit it.

U V

VESPER : A member of the Cadre . Info?

VITALONGAE : A secret organization of immortals. They were formed in 205 B.C. and meet at least once at the end of each century. All members must be immortal, though it can be through any number of means. The Vitalongae's only firm law is that no member can directly harm another. The immortals' intrigues have spanned the centuries, and often become entangled in mortal affairs. Notable members include Hannibal, Jack Russell, and Antigone.

W

WARNER, Isaac: See Stingray

WARSKOVIAC, Bob: See Threll.

WARSTRYKE : A member of the Cadre . Info?

THE WOLDA: Draconic mages who live at peace with the universe.

WREXXAKT : Not their real name...in fact, what they think of themselves, if they think of themselves at all, is not known. The Harrakin name for this race, formerly known as The Masters, means nothing in particular: it is the telepathic sound of an attempt to say every obscenity in Harrakin at once. The Wrexxakt abducted numerous life-forms, including humans, from the planet Earth at some indeterminate time in the past and brought them to Mar'has'varak, which is now the Harrakin Throneworld. On this radioactive ball of rock, they allowed the pre-Harrakin, or Sh'uggurth, to spread, requiring them to perform illogical labors that benefitted no one. It was later learned by Harrak, the first H'R'Djagtal of the Harrakin, that the Wrexxakt did not know the Harrakin were living things. (See Tempest Annual #2: Time's Hammer) Most have been killed in a prolonged war with the Harrakin, and the rest are lost.
