Ten years ago today, I posted the prologue to Starcruiser Anonymous. I was hoping to mark the occasion by posting something new, or at least writing up some commentary, but it doesn’t seem like that will happen tonight.
I’ll note that my decision to start Starcruiser Anonymous with a prologue leads to an off-by-one error when discussing later episodes, since episode ten, say, is the eleventh part in the series. If I were starting the series today, I don’t know whether I would organize things that way. The prologue is essentially a block of solid exposition followed by a short scene, which can be risky. (At least it’s “entertaining weird,” as one reviewer put it.)
More to come, hopefully, as I collect my thoughts.
