In my life

Summary: An unusual musical choice at Nordstrom’s and my continuing academic career.

I went to Nordstrom’s for lunch today. They have a piano near the escalators, and today they had a guy playing music and—I am not making this up—he was playing selections from Super Mario Brothers. Not the movie, the original NES game. The above ground and under water themes, specifically. He was good too; for a while I was wondering whether it was an actual piece of music that had been adapted for Mario. Later, I just wondered if anyone else in the store recognized it.

Also, on Monday I enrolled in a graduate course at NJIT. “Cryptography & Security.” I’ve already missed the first class, as I was working until 10pm that night, but I’m looking forward to the next one next Monday.

I’m looking forward to school. When did that start happening?
