Jack makes it clear that it would be.... unwise.... to try to take action, and the goons give a standard threat and leave, leaving Jack and company caught between two rival gangs both wanting protection money. Evaluation Another of the LNH's better writers begins writing directly for Superguy (we'll get them all! WE'LL GET THEM ALL! A-HAHAHAHAHAHA-Ahem. Sorry.) Dvandom's second episode (There was a prelude, 36 Crazy Plots #0) is absolutely, out the window, off the wall nuts. It's somewhat unclear exactly what the Crazy Plots are, but Jack is a believable martial artist within a parody context and the episode is utterly hilarious (the opening montage is _beautiful_). Hope to read more. /// Superguy [WTA]: Bizarre Like Me (Gary W. Olsen) /// /// Type 2 (mostly humorous), 8.2 of 10 hot dogs (Excellent) /// Matt: 8 Mason: 9 Rick: 8 ChrisM: 8 Jon: 8 Synopsis CalForce reacts to the WTA plague in Gary's most manic style. The highlight of the episode is Mighty Guy being transformed by the plague into Bizarre Guy--and no longer doing any property damage. CalForce--except for Criticalman, who gets infected--agrees to help Task Force Aurora, and heads off to Canada. Evaluation Yes, Gary _can_ still write humor. A suitably off-the-wall episode, and an absolutely beautiful use of Mighty Guy's parody source to extend the parody. Hopefully (very, very, very hopefully) this will be continued. /// Superguy [WTA]: Mr. Morbid #2 (Don Cook) /// /// Type 2 (mostly humorous), 6.8 of 10 jelly doughnuts (Very Good) /// Matt: 6 Mason: 7 Rick: 7 ChrisM: 7 Jon: 7 Synopsis Morbid's father arrives, and Morbid gives him the Book to analyze. Meanwhile, a group of.... um.... paranormals calling themselves the World Taskforce Alliance heads for Plight Heights, to try to infect the superguys there. The Plight Heights Heroes Guild--such as it is--tries to stop them, and gets flattened handily until Morbid shows up. Eugene successfully combats the WTA plague, and Morbid beats the crap out of the remaining bad guys as STOP troopers show up to cart him off to Canada for quarantine. Evaluation A reasonably well done character bit with Morbid and his father, and the fight scene is truly amusing. The Plight Heights Heroes Guild is hilarious, but the World Taskforce Alliance is a little more grotesaque than it needs to be. Also, the mechanics could use a bit of work (a grammar checker would be a moderately good thing, and for some reason something along the line is stripping all capital Ys from the post). All in all, though, a solid episode and a solid read. -- Matthew Gerber mgerber@ao.net (preferred) mgerber@eyrie.org mbg84022@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu
