Gareth, younger son of the House of Feldane, was another of the early companions of Deirdre, princess in Amber. With a weak chin and blind to colour, he entertained hopes of marrying Darthene, yet she spurned him cruelly. Maddened by this he chose to attempt to murder Deirdre, luring her through her crush upon him into Tir-na Nog'th on the night of a lunar eclipse, believing that this would find favour with Darthene. He was encouraged in this belief through spiritual compellings, and murdered Faiella on the same night. Deirdre executed him for his crimes.
