GANELON

Non-Player Character

Brought to an Earth-like Shadow in it's 20th century, Oberon introduced Raven and Jacob a certain 'Ganelon' whom he is playing backgammon with the Broad, the mystical artifact responsible for the Game.

Ganelon's past is never explained at this point, but after introductions were made (and Ganelon sneered at the two for being 'like angels and insects'), Oberon made it clear that he had brought them there for a reason. He had challenged Ganelon to a game with the Board, the consequence of which he described as almost always being death to the loser. Ganelon complained bitterly that Oberon is cheating. Oberon replied that there is no such thing as 'cheating', as that would imply that there is 'random chance' in the matter. Oberon assured everyone that such a thing is illusionary. Jacob offers a suggestion that Ganelon forfeit to avoid playing it out. Ganelon angrily replied that was cowardly, and that Oberon was a liar and a cheat. Nevertheless he overturned the Board in a fit of temper, and is immediately consumed in a burst of flame. Chuckling, Oberon gave Jacob the Board, stating that forfeiture is still 'losing.'
