Elyse, one of the acknowledged beauties of the house of Karm, was one of the early companions of Deirdre, princess in Amber. She had long silken red hair, pale grey eyes, and played the harp beautifully. Along with others, Elyse provided the young princess with a safe refuge to retreat away from the hideous torments inflicted by someone (possibly the Drake). Elyse married Marcus shortly after the defeat of the Dream Serpent, and was driven insane by the thousand years of Slumber. She remains in Rebma, a shattered wreck of her former self.
