The Best Comic Books Dave Read In 2000

This page collects all of the books I gave a rating of "Strongly Recommended" or better to during 2000. Books which I Strongly Recommended to limited groups are generally not included, but those with mature readers caveats are. You may notice some "Best Book" winners aren't mentioned here, because they were simply the best of a weak week.

So, here it is, broken down by month. Books which got ratings better than "Strongly Recommended" will be in boldface. Books in (parentheses) were Strongly Recommended, but only to a particular readership. Be warned that this reflects my reading habits, there may well have been some excellent titles out there I didn't read for whatever reason.

Well, time to do some totting up. No book really sent me into convulsions of joy this year, but a decent amount were good. I cut back on my comics a lot during this year, as part of preparations to move to Michigan. Priest came out the best of the lot, with eight. On the strength of his writing, Marvel also did well overall, although DC and its various properties (including Wildstorm and Vertigo) powered through to the most Strongly Recommended titles in my pull, with 17 books.
