I'm not buying Galvatron, since while it's a nice-looking recolor, it's also a $40 recolor. However, Justin Anderson volunteered to comment on it so that I don't have a complete blank in this slot. Update 5/19/06: Galvatron's techspec is up online, so here it is: The rage MEGATRON feels after his defeat by METROPLEX activates the dormant power within his UNICRON armor. This vast energy draws power directly from the Giant Planet itself, feeding it into MEGATRON and changing him into the mighty GALVATRON! A living engine of destruction, GALVATRON lives only to conquer all and grind the Universe beneath his armored heel. His weapons and intellect super-charged by the living energy of the Giant Planet, there are none powerful enough to stand in his way! STR ? INT 10 SPD 10 END ? RNK 10 COUR 10 FRB ? SKL 10 Avg ? Key Code Info: If the Autobots thought Megatron was tough - they had another thing coming. And that other thing was Galvatron. After being decimated by Metroplex, Megatron called out for power - more power than he could ever hope to wield. Like Overhaul and the Jungle Planet Cyber Key - the Giant Planet Cyber Key awoke and granted Megatron giant-sized powers and a new form. With the combined might of the Unicron armor and the raw, untapped powers of the Giant Planet Cyber Planet Key coursing through his Spark, Galvatron is now the most powerful Decepticon there ever was. He's so powerful that he destroyed, single-handedly, an entire city on the Giant Planet. Now, he didn't just 'destroy' it - he turned EVERY building to crystalline dust. Now THAT's power! (Also has an image of the color guide.) Another "think" coming is the correct phrase. Dave Van Domelen, and now, heeeeeere's Justin! Okay, here's the color swaps on Galvatron- teal-red black-black orange-black everything else-gray The shins, chest, shoulders, front half of the head, and back are painted over in silver. Takara claimed to use the same paint as on cellphones, no guarantee Hasbro did (not sure why it would matter anyway). Paint masks sorta stick but some are dropped. Some red paint, but most is black, with some gold bits (Takara used yellow) and a dark purple face. The cockpit also has paint apps. The emblem is purple, no outline. The translucent plastic is all a mildly reddish-orange(though can look red if not lit well). The eBay test shots had a blood red translucent which would have looked better, if you ask me. Galvy's key code is l65x. The test shot had Megatron's code, likely to keep Galvy's from leaking. No mold changes, nor tolerance changes. The time stamp is still burned onto the back by the copystamp (Megs has 51101, Galvy has 53091). Sounds are the same. I suspect we'll see Nemesis Breaker within the next month or 6 weeks as he's featured on Galvy's box for his combination (though they use a Master Megatron for the photo). No Breaker instructions for folding up Galvy's arm to attach it, they'll likely shoehorn that onto Breaker's sheet. Recommendation: Between Megatron or Galvatron, it's a color preference. Functionally, the toys are the same and it's a recolor of an expensive toy. Of course, those with patience will find that the larger toys do tend to linger on store shelves and hit clearance.
