On the left, Jenkins is modeling the standard flight suit. Next to him (or
below him, depending on how wide your screen is) is a
Javelin, roughly to scale.
The ASH 3732 stories give me an outlet for more "standard" science fiction
stories set in the far future of the ASH Universe. So far, there's just one
series, Spear-Carriers, but I may eventually come up with
(or get others to write) more in this setting.
Spear-Carriers by Dave Van Domelen - Science fiction in the far future
of the ASH universe, starring a group of misfits and telepaths who are part
of a new way of fighting battles in space.
- Original Notes: Written on the yellow pads I
used so much in grad school, The "ASH??" in the upper right was because I
wasn't sure if this would be in the ASH Universe's future specifically, or
just reusing a lot of elements.
- Frequently "Asked" Questions: Okay, so they're not
asked all that frequently, but I answer them here anyway.
- #1 - "A New Paradigm": The world is set up, the
conflict defined...and redefined...and the central characters introduced as a
bold new experiment in space warfare is carried out. But how many will
return from this suicide mission?
- #2 - "In For The Long Haul": The Javelin wing starts
to settle in for a full tour of duty, having survived their first mission.
But the Santari are starting to wonder what's going on, and the Javelins
might not survive their second mission....
- #3 - "Trial and Run": In the aftermath of the second
mission, the Javelin wing moves to their new home while the Santari struggle
to find a way to counteract this new force on the battlefield.
- The Twist Drive: An entry from the Grand Encyclopedia
about the FTL system used by both sides in this setting. Where it
contradicts the FAQ, the FAQ is wrong.
