Standard Hoser My mind is in my bed, asleep, My body's at my desk. The coffee in my bloodstream Hasn't reached grey matter yet. The sun's been up all morning, But I haven't seen its light - The clouds are in the sky, oh my, They're blocking out my sight. The pictures of the hallowed saints Glare at me from the wall. They seem to say in Teacher's voice, "You're just not on the ball. You didn't do your homework, And you didn't pass the test. Do you expect a college To take the last from best?" Wearily I move along; Was I awake past three? Even my best classes Get an automatic me - While I sleep I tap my feet. I wonder how much more The faculty can take from me Before I'm out the door. This didn't start out as a rant, It started as a song About school in the morning, And how I get along. Sure, I'm being childish; Sure, I'm acting dumb, But otherwise, you see, I'd be One more conformist bum. :)
