Gotham: Coventry Coventry is a proud neighborhood that is trying to prevent what the residents see as the "chaos of Manchester" from spreading to Coventry. Unfortunately, this attitude has helped several racist groups to find sanctuarty in Coventry, as they would not have survived elsewhere. The rest of Gotham's image of Coventry is a row after row of neat brink houses, each stocked with automatic weapons with which to eliminate "undesirables." While this idea is exaggerated, it remains true that Gotham police raids have seized a greater quantity of sophisticated weapontry from Coventry than they have from similar raids in Manchester. There are three bright spots in Coventry. These institutions include Gotham Zoo, Hegler Historical Library, and the Priory. The Priory is a large cluster of buildings which form the largest monastery in North America. Robin is walking along the sidewalk, attracting a few stares as he goes, heading towards the gate of the Gotham Zoo. A red and white blur whizzes by on the street, disappearing as quickly as it made itself known. It leaves an odd, vacuous wake in its path, causing a few leaves and assorted papers to skitter along in the street behind it. Robin stops for a moment as his head turns to see the cause of the fast movement, but realizes there is nothing there. He looks about one more time, then begins to step forward again, towards the zoo gates. People's hats fly off their heads in front of you, and there's the standard clutching at clothing and trying to keep hair in place, as the whirlwind returns. Suddenly, standing before you is the 'infamous' figure of Impulse. "Robin?" Robin stops short in his tracks to avoid bumping in to you, after a few blinks to be sure of what he sees, "Impulse! What are you doing here? I thought Batman warned you about coming to Gotham..." Impulse eeps, and shushes you, eyes wide - almost as if he thought the invocation of Batman's name would bring his wrath upon him. Batman's not God, but that's the kind of impression he leaves. "Yeah," he affirms, nodding, "He did. So can we be a little bit more sneaky? I've gotta ask you about someone." Robin frowns and looks about to follow in Batman's stead and warn you further, but he pauses a moment before speaking. "This had better be important. Where did you have in mind?" Impulse shrugs, looking impatient. He makes a sweeping gesture, "/I/ don't know, anywhere but here. Rooftop okay? I hear they're standard practice 'round here." Robin grins wryly, "Fine. Wait for me up there." he says as he points to a nearby building. Impulse is gone. Up there. Gotham: Skyline--Northwest The heights of the the buildings here vary. But some of the taller buildings can reach the 20 story mark. Most of the other buildings are residential. A few trees are scattered here and there. In the area of Coventry the Gotham Zoo is fairly noticable from above. Robin swings in on a rope grapple, and lands on the rooftop nimbly. He pulls the rope in behind him, and tucks it away. He turns back to Impulse, "So what is it that is so important it brings you all the way to Gotham?" Impulse is sitting on the ledge, someone's facade. You've barely gotten up there when he starts, a worried expression on his features. "It's about the Spoiler. What's happened to her? Where -is- she? Is she okay?" A moment passes while Robin tries to make sure he actually heard all the questions, not used to people talking quite so fast. "The Spoiler? She's okay now, I guess. The dialysis cleaned out the remains of the poison Ivy put into her system. She seems to be taking some time off out of costume at the moment. I think she was probably pretty disturbed by the whole thing, dialysis isn't easy on anyone." Impulse blinks, then gapes. "Dialysis? Poison Ivy? Ivy made her -sick-?" He stops for a moment, then asks more slowly, and more quietly, "What kind of thing is Dialysis? What does it do?" Pause. "And are you sure she's okay?" Robin says "I'm sorry, I thought you might have already known. Poison Ivy during her recent spree in Gotham was using quite a nasty drug that was highly addictive and could prove fatal with repeated exposure. If caught early enough it could be removed from the system by dialysis. That is, put very simply, the removal of the undesirable agents from her body by running the blood through a machine. Spoiler accidently got pricked by a needle containing some of this drug, so had to undergo this treatment. The last time I saw her she was healthy, however, I don't believe she's very happy with me or her situation." Impulse ughs, and makes a horrible face. "Poor Spoiler!" He shakes his head. "That's -nasty-! I..." he starts, then obviously changes his mind midsentence, "...had better go. I'll tell Superboy, and Damage. And Starfire and Atom, too, I guess. That -sucks-." He sighs. "If you see her soon, tell her the Titans are rooting for her, 'kay?" Robin nods, "I will make it a point to go visit her and relay your message. Let the Titans know I said hi. And try to keep yourself out of trouble, eh?" Impulse nods once. "I'll try," he says with a halfhearted grin. "Stay cool, Wonderlad." With that, he rushes off and disappears again. Robin begins to speak again, but stops himself as he realizes he'd be talking to nothing but a ghost image as Impluse disappears in a blink. He shakes his head then sighs, thinking about Spoiler.
