Taking the lid off his Frappuccino(tm), Bart sluuuurrrrrps some off the top. He raises his eyebrows at Suzie, then swallows the mouthful of icy pseudo-coffee. "So wait, wait. Yeah, sure, Batman could kick just about anyone's butt. He's scary as /hell/. But c'mon. Haven't you ever heard of Impulse? Or Wonder Girl? Or even, like, /Superboy/?" With a quiet 'Yeah, haven't you ever heard of Wonder Girl?' Cassie chimes in, her voice rising upwards, before falling silent, at least she said -something- right? Blue gems gaze towards Suzie curiously, one eyebrow arching upwards, as though asking 'well, haven't you?' 'Ding-ding' That's the bell to the door, if there was one. But, as hip and trendy as this place is, there likely is only the soft 'bing' as the door swings open. "You called?" The Kid in the doorway says, as he lowers his shades from his eyes enough so that they can be seen alon with his smirk. "OoooOoOoOOoOOOoooOOOo, the Bat. he's big and bad, and well, he's got a cape ... I want a cape ... but well, he's got nothing on ... well ... you know, us." He grins once more and then moves in. He seem to be here, sure, and smiling, but he's a bit slow and tired. "Hey Bart, and hello ladies. Charmed." he's taken the specs off and tucked them away, as he approaches the table, and just *waits* for Bart to like dart at him and hug him or something silly like that. Shrugging her shoulders slightly, Suzie grasps her cup between her hands as if it were hot, though she purchased a cold drink. "I think I've heard of most of them." She replies democratically, pausing a moment to sip her frappuccino before continuing, "But I don't really keep up on any of that much. I just don't think a hero is better just because he has flashy powers. It says a lot more about you if you fight as a hero despite your lack of powers. Who risks more, the guy with invulnerability or the one who's powerless? Green Arrow should get credit for his bravery." Bart Allen gestures vaguely. "Well like, it doesn't matter whether a hero has powers or not. It depends on what they're /willing/ to give up for someone else." With that oddly insightful comment thrown into a rather flippant conversation, Bart takes another gulp of hazelnut frappuccino. And then. Then! The door! A hug, huh? Darting at you? Hardly. The kid's eyes widen, then he controls the look and coolly gazes at Superboy. "Hey. Nice of you to show up. Where the hell have /you/ been?" Casting her eyes towards the door, Cassie's eyebrows shoot up.. mouth drops open, before closing again, as she sinks a bit further into the crowd. After all she has little desire for Superboy to suddenly spill it to everyone who she is.. not that he would, but well, Cassie's a little paranoid. All in all though, her eyes gaze back at Suzie, head tilting to one side as she inquires. "Its true though, thats what Wonder Woman says, it doesn't matter if you're powered, or not, all that matters is what is inside. And sometimes the biggest power you have is what is on the -inside- not the out." Suzie looks up as she sees Superboy and possibly feels that she should probably display a bit of excitement at seeing him as most of the others gathered teens here are, but she's lived a sheltered life and it doesn't seem to really effect her. "Well," She continues, "That's important too. But it takes courage to risk taking a bullet if you know you can't dodge it and it won't bounce off your chest." Superboy seems pleased at the reactions he got, at least, a little. No hug from Bart, which he expected, but that's a good thing, right? But, well, he isn't dressed in his Super Duds at the moment, but a rather relaxed short and hawaiian shirt combo, for some reason. Any way, he smiles broadly to Cassie, as she seemed embarassed at seeing him? How flattering. But the blonde with the conviction... well, he attempts to see if the empty seat is next to her? "What makes a hero, hun? Well, stuff bouncing off the chest or not (or a bouncing chest) doesn't matter, I have to agree. Part of it is doing it because you can, but thenthe larger part is doing it because you know you should, because you know you can. You were meant for that kind of thing." And then he leans back, if and when he gets seated and looks to his friend, Bart. "long story, man ... hey, did you get your mop chopped?" Friend. Right. That's what Bart used to think, yeah. "Yes," he says coldly. "I did. Now, about that long story...I'd like to hear it. It's not every day your best friend disappears for months -- without a trace -- without a friggin' /postcard/...and no one in the JLA would tell me, either." Looks like he's completely abandoning the previous conversation, now. It also looks like he's /pissed/. He glances at Suzie, then, though. "Sorry. I'd do intros, but I don't know your name. This, if you hadn't already guessed, is Superboy." With a quirk to her lips, Cassie just shakes her head, absently taking a step towards Suzie, after all, Superboy could be an imposter, like an alien fish from mars, thats dressed up to look -like- Superboy, and act just like him, and then when he gets into everyone's good graces, up and slime them! Flashing the Metropolis Kid a friendly smile, Suzie nods her head, "Hi." She replies imply with a slight motion of her head too small to be nod. She came out here to escape to her freedom, and yet somehow 'work' always seems to find her. Not like she can 'forge new connections' while in her secret identity anyway. Bonnie will just have to suffer knowing she willingly and purposely brushed off Superboy. Besides, if he gets to know her too closely he might recognize her later when she's in her 'work clothes'. If Bonnie ever decides she's ready to go on her first mission, that is. Girls. Who will ever understand them? Maybe the Kid one day, as he will willingly dedicate his life to studying them. Any way, he isn't thinking anything what Cassie is, as he isn't an alien fish imposter, but he is thinking along those lines. "Well," he explains semingly offhanded as he looks tot he ceiling, but smiling alll the time on the inside, "I didn't have much -time_ send any sort of message, as this princess of a parallel dimension just yanked me to her world, choosing *me* specificlaly to be her guardian protector, where I battled this large dragon like thing to save them all and be a real hero. Then I got lost on the way back, due tot he tampering of this energy monster, and while on this artic barren world I befriended this Walrus like people and helped them defeat the creature. Naturally. But, that was all a piece of cake. I ended up home in Hawaii, where I met this girl ... Tilly, and well ... that is what cruched me, but let's not go there, shall we? It's all int he past, Bart. K?" He looks tot he girls as well. "Hi," he says back tot he girl with no name. "Well, ah, enough about me I suppose..." He frowns a bit. That bored you all, right? He lost his touch while he was away? Maybe Tilly did more of a number on him than he thought. Duh, /everyone/ knows that kind of surreal stuff only happens when Bart's around. Squid, zombies, mad scientists and all. The superfast wild child is /not/ buying it. "Yeah," says Bart quietly, "All in the past. I'm gonna have to have a talk with you. Massive." He's silent for a second, staring at the table, then he slurps the rest of the drink in three big gulps and gets up to throw out the cup. He sits back down, and nudges Cassie's foot with his own. The nudge is returned in kind, as Cassie's gaze shift worriedly over Bart's form, mouth tugging into a still line. Its after this, that Cassie's light blue gems shift over to the boy of steel, as she announces softly. "Oh wow, yeah, I've heard of the Walrus people, Diana ran into them once, told me all about them, and thier leader, Occualamutanla." Did she just spout out something completely insane? Uh-huh, and did it very carefully too, didn't even snicker, once, as her hands fling upwards, and upon landing, brush against Bart's arm.. awww.. like a little touch to know she's there. "With any case, kid, what do you plan on doing now?" Pausing a moment, Suzie absorbs all of that information in and wonders. What strange tales. Bonnie never mentioned any of this during training. Maybe you only handle Walrus people and Occualamutant-whatever once you've graduated beyond 'training' level. Turning her gaze to Superboy a moment, she wonders to herself who his training is. Whoever it is is awefully easy on him, letting him lounge around like this. Or maybe he snuck out too. Superboy is certainly in training, in a sense. Kinda'. Well, not really. But life is teaching him so lessons, in time. That counts, right? But, his plans, Cassie? He stands and looks pissed back. it wasn't easy to come back, especially after what happened, to find you and to be ...w ell, try and be himself and .. just try to do this. So, he lied a bit, bart, so? He was trying to make it understandable. He places his hands on the tble and just thinks about flexing. Not his muscles, but the table. Using his power to just push it. So much agression. Pent up anger. But, then he stops himself and just .... stands there. "Look, maybe this was a bad idea. Ah, Bart, sure, we've got to talk sometime, sure." Whatever. It can't be the same, can it? "Ladies, it was a plasure," even if he can't work it any more, if he failed yet again. He sighs and just thinks about going. But then ... where is he to go now? "Yeah, Occualamutanla, great guy, once you get to know him... nice teeth..." "What, a bad idea to come back? No, it wasn't a bad idea to come back. Just wish you did it sooner, or at least sent some indication. We're not the Titans anymore, by the way. At least...I'm not," says Bart quietly. He shoots Cassie a grateful look, then looks at the Kid again. "And there's one hell of a lot we /do/ need to talk about. Not this second, though." Then he suddenly blushes, and looks sheepishly at Suzie. "Uhh...sorry. I'm, um, Impulse. Just not in costume. An' it's not like you care, anyway, so I shouldn't be worried. Which I'm not." With a smirk at Superboy, Cassie just idly confirms the fact his story was a load of bullsh!t.. Which pleases her to no end, though she offers Bart the smile back, her voice quiet, and low. "You know, you could just stay and talk.. A lot has gone on kid.. And -maaaaan- it is good to see you, though you know .. like, it would ahve been nice to know you were okay and all." Losing exactly where she this conversation began delving into strangeness, Suzie just takes a few gulps of her frappuccino instead. Bart is Impulse and Superboy's here and they're apparently discussing Walrus people. She wonders to herself exactly at what point normal criminals became too mundane to include in normal conversation among heroes. And if the other two are actually superheroes, who might Cassie be? She responds with a well practiced automated answer to Bart as she diverts her thoughts to more important things than speaking, "Nice to meet you, Impulse." Her voice is soft so as not to reveal to the whole world who he is, though somehow she gets the feeling that it might not be necessary. Superboy stop himself. Not like he *wants* to go, really. He's just ... at a loss. "... sounded so much cooler when I thought it up..." He mutters to himself about his failed fables. So, with sigh he turn around wondering if he is allowed to site any more? (preferrably next to the un-spoken-for blonde. He knows Bart. Kinda.) "Well, not exactly like I could have and once I did, I needed some time to myself to gather my thoughts and clear the head, you know?" He wonders if maybe one of you do? Oh, wait, you hello him with his name and not.. ??? Well, SSuberboy now *frets* as well. He's definately lost it. He sighs and sits bak down again. "I'n okay now?" He offers to Cassie, lying? "Really." No need to fret, really. Bart stands, then, looking at his watch. "It is.../way/ past time for me to be home. Almost five. Wally and I were gonna work on some high-speed sighting techniques," he says with a slight grin. Then he looks down at Cassie and holds out a hand. "Want a ride back to school, fair lady?" Cover for Cass. Bart may be Impulse, but hey, Wonder Girl can fly, and if this chick needs a ride back, then she mustn't be WG. Right? Sure! And Cassie smiles in return. "Absolutely. 'Cept, like, it'll be what, half a second?" She laughs, and stands as well. "SB, as always, nice to see you." Then she turns to Suzie..."And it was nice to meet you. Sorry if we stepped on your toes." Suddenly realizing the time as her gaze drifts past a clock, Suzie finishes off the frappucino and then tosses the empty cup away into the nearest trash bin, "It was nice meeting you guys, but I need to get going. I have a lot more I need to do. My mom is always bothering me." Having made her excuse, she offers the wave of her hand, nodding to Cassie before departing as she responds, "It's ok, Cassie, you guys only voiced your opinions, we're all committed to one." Superboy feels like he steppe don and broke many of them. But, hey, he puts on a smile and looks to Suzie, though he doesn't know her name. "You want a ... suppose not. Maybe next time, hun?" He looks about as everyone is leaving and, leans back to relax it seems. "I'll be in touch, sure, soon. Pleasure," he smiles to Suzie and Cassie and then winks to Bart. "I'll hold the fort," I guess. "Later, guys."
