Impulse speeds through, looking around for Cassie. I mean, it was pretty funny, the other day. He's not wearing his suit, obviously, because, like, he really can't run in it. But gee, it was sharp. But Cassie's dress? What a riot! He's not evil, though. He's carrying a box that's wrapped in really cute themed Flash paper. Ick. But hey, it's all good. She'll like it, anyway, even if it makes Bart sick to his stomach. Around and around the park he searches, not seeing here anywhere, not under bush or behind tree or even skating anywhere. Hm. Then he looks over by her mom's motel room, and doesn't see her there. But he's not looking very hard. Just a hell of a lot. However, he's very very visible, and making a mess in his wake. Leaves and papers and hats and stuff. So Cassie'll prolley see him, easy, and intercept him, likely. The motel room is pushed open, as Cassie com es stomping out. Her mother's voice echoing in her ears.. "Cassandra! Do /not/ go out too far now.." *grumble* as if she's a child. She's fourteen years old! She can just do just about anything she wants to.. *grumble* Therefore, Cassie is deep into her thoughts, as she storms into the park, noting that there's a lot of wind today. Impulse gives up, finally, and stands in the middle of the park, holding his package. He takes a huge deep breath, looks to the heavens, and bellows at the top of his mighty lungs, "CAAAAASSSSSSSSIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Pausing a moment, Cassie can swear she hears her name being called. Her gaze immediately darts to her mom's motel door.. Nope.. Therefore, she turns around a full circle before ending up facing Impulse. With a snicker, she skips over to the boy, "You rang?" She gets out, a smirk to her lips, as her eyes suddenly shift from him, to the big, pretty box wrpaped in Flash Paper! Wooooo! At that precise moment, something happens at the brownstone next to Cassie's motel. A young girl, no more that 12, stumbles out of the front entrance, immediately shielding her eyes to the streetlights. Her clothes are torn in places, and she seems to be barely able to stand on her feet. In face, she hardly has time to yell out "Help me!!!" in a hoarse voice, before her legs give out on her, sending her tumbling down the front stairs to the sidewalk below. Impulse blinks! His head jerks to see where the girl's voice came from, uttering those fateful words...maybe he /can/ help! "Be right back," he says almost unintelligbly quickly to Cassie, handing her the box in a blur. He zips over to the source of the voice, stopping in front of Cassie's motel...he looks up and down the sidewalk, then sees the girl collapsed on the ground. Immediately he kneels next to her, checking her pulse and all the stuff paramedics do on TV. "Hello?" he asks quickly, in a quiet voice. "Hey. Hey, are you okay?" As her gift is tossed to her, Cassie happily rips open the paper, figuring Impulse can take care of whats up.. She carefully, carefully pries off the tape, so not to disturb /one/ itsy bitsy bit of the wonderfully cool Flash wrapping paper.. Turning a bit, her gaze sweeps towards Impluse, and the girl, one eyebrow gently arching upwards at the scene.. For the oment, present is forgotten, as she ponders.. . o O(Wonder whats going on?) Weak as the proverbial kitten, the girl is barely able to shake her head, though she struggles to get up. "...call.. police....," she whispers out, frantic and afraid. Though just as she speaks, a foreboding man with balding hair appears at the top of the stairs, looking down at the scene. He wears jeans and a 'muscle' T-shirt, which doesn't do much to hide his beer gut. Looking up at the guy, Impulse picks up the girl, not really trying very hard. She's very light. He looks back down at her, and nods, saying softly, "Will do. Want me to take you to the hospital?" He's still speaking very quickly, and begins backing away, closer to Cassie, and away from the guy. Even through the totally awesome cool kit, Cassie can't help but notice the odd scene. With a quiet hrm, she moves silently around the park. You know, that never having common sense, and wanting to see whats up.. /really/ thing that happens when someone really /wants/ to help but just doesn't get it.. Therefore.. *deep breath*, Cassie gazes from the girl in rags, to the horribly yucky man. From the sky, a shudder of blue and red. Superboy descends from the heavens, his jacket fluttering above his shoulders like a leather cape, his face a canvas of concern and difficulty. "Dere a problem here?" the guy asks, his voice as gruff as his appearance. "Jenna, why's don't you come back inside, yer mother's worried about ya." The girl, just freezes up. Looking back up at the big ugly guy, Bart scowls faintly. "Jenna, huh? I think Jenna could use a trip to the hospital. And some clothes that aren't in a million pieces? For the winter, maybe?" . o O (Something seriously more than screwy here.) Not sure what the heck is going on, but not liking this picture one itsy bitsy bit.. Course Cassie's not one to really think through a situation, just do what she thinks is right.. Her gaze darts from Bart, to the man, before she silently moves past, heading for the alley in the back.. The man doesn't seem too impressed, as he sizes Bart up. "What, you da new social worker? I'm 'er father, an' I don't sees anything wrong wit' 'er. C'mon Jenna. Time to come back inside." This last is said a bit more forcefully, as he begins to plod down the stoop. Again, Jenna remains frozen in place, perhaps by fear, perhaps just because she lacks the energy to move. Impulse is holding her, too. Continuing on around the brownstone, Cassie slinks towards the alley, trying to find something to stand on, to peer into the heavily drawn shades of the window. Shaking his head, Impulse begins to back away again, carrying Jenna. "No. No way, mister. I'm taking her to the hospital. If you want to visit, you can call DIPHUS." The burly man jabs a pudgy finger at Bart, coming the rest of the way down the stairs. "Ya want me ta call the cops, kid? 's my daughter ya got there!" As his words get rougher, Jenna shudders slightly, and whispers in a barely audible voice, "Please, no.." Meanwhile, in the back alley, there's a few convenient banana crates for Cassie to stack up and perch herself on, but she soon finds that the window's shut, and the curtains drawn tight. Grumbling to herself, Cassie pushes the crates to each window, trying to see inside.. Or at least try and push a window open. She's not exactly tall, but well.. she has to see what its like inside first before she makes any judgement. Impulse scowls, and says softly, "You think I give a damn? She hurts. Therefore, she goes to the hospital. And I have a feeling you're the cause. I'm gonna be the one calling the cops." Backpedaling to make sure the guy doesn't pull a gun or anything, Impulse speeds away. When he's sufficiantly far enough, and hoping he doesn't crash into anything, he turns around, bringing Jenna to the nearest hospital. Eyes going wide as Bart takes off, the guy starts to follow, but soon realizes he'll never be able to catch up - or even know where the kid has gone to. He lets out a frustrated scream, before his face goes a little white, and he waddles quickly back to his apartment. Apparently, he just figured out that the kid probably /will/ call the cops. Superboy lands on the ground far too late to reach Impulse - the kid's just a bit too quick, in retrospect. He brushes dirt and wind-carried grime from his costume and glances from side to side, his squinted eyes taking in the scenario. Cassie continues to push open one window after another, pushing hard, attempting to gaze inside. She didn't notice Impulse leave, or the fact that one pissed off man just entered the building. Finally, the window Cassie's at suddenly jars open with a disturbing jolt, sending her crashing inside the apartment building with an audible *CRASH* *BANG* *THUD* uuuuuuuuuuuuugh. Spawled out onto the floor, Cassie rubs her head, wondering what possessed her to do this. Some might find it impossible to whip out a pair of X-Ray specs with class. I mean, you know, they're bulky, right? Big, ugly, and red. But Superboy .. wow. The kid manages to do it. He slings a pair of large goggles from some hidden jacket pocket and pulls them on, glancing in the direction of the noise. The room that Cassie lands in, is about as unkempt and disgusting as the man who lives there. Beer cans litter the floor, many surrounded by stains where they dribbled their last contents onto the carpet. Candy bar wrappers, popcorn kernels, potato chip crumbs... All combining together to make a truly nasueating smell as well. And just as Cassie's able to take all this in, the owner of the place comes in, and just gapes at Cassie for a moment. "How'd you get in here?!" Sure, it's plainly obvious, but the guy ain't that bright. Superboy walks up to the apartment building, peering inside - seeing through beams and brick, through walls and doors. Realizing the situation (well, somewhat .. he still lacks super-hearing) he opts not to break through the wall and decides, instead, to walk up to the apartment the old-fashioned way - through the front door. Lying on the floor, Cassie's first gaze is the disgusting amount of litter on the floor. Her hand recoils from a rather damp sector of the rug with a quick motion. "GROOSSS!! Gross gross gross gross!" The words jsut spill out as her hand is sticky from the spilled liquid. Still on the floor, her eyes finally flash up to the man, as she states. "I uhm, fell." Ooh great, /nice/ one Cassie.. Lumbering towards the girl, the guy's face turns a little red with anger as he moves. "I'll make ya fall, ya little..!" His arms stretch outward as he makes a clumsy and telegraphed grab for her. Cassie says "HOLY!" Cassie scrambles backwards, hitting her head against the wall, as she quickly squirms out of the man's grasp. "GEEZE! What kind of a jerkwad loser are you?" Finding herself set up against the wall, and unable to move any further away, her eyes widen considerably. "Like, back off, I know.. karate!" Well.. mayb eit'll work.." Superboy knocks on the front door of the apartment. Loudly. Without waiting for an answer he steps inside, looking past the burly man towards the young girl. "Ah!" he says, glancing with an embarrased smile towards the owner of the apartment. "You found her! We'd been looking all over for her! She tends to escape the chains pretty easily, you know, but we figured the guard dogs would frighten her enough that she wouldn't run away but .. *whoa*," he says with a smile, "whoa. Guess I was wrong." He pauses for a moment and wipes his nose with the back of his hand. Softly, he adds, "Touch her and die." Pretty much ignoring Superboy's entrance, the man's attention is focused on Cassie, and thus he keeps his back to the Boy of Steel. Apparently, he's even got Superboy's voice mixed up with Bart's - but he's under a little stress at the moment. "Come back for more kid? Takin' Jenna wasn't enuff? F*ck you! After I'm done with the girl, yer next!" He lunges towards Cassie again, sweat forming a clear sheen on his face. Superboy moves forward. Quickly. Very quickly. See, while he doesn't actually have enhanced running speed, he can fly. And, while flying, he can move fast. Very fast. And that's what he does, really. He hovers half an inch above the ground and speeds forward, stopping inches from the burly man. "Excuse me," Superboy says, a laugh hinted in his voice as he moves to grab and stabilize the man's wrist. "Heh .. you might find this funny, but .. heh. She's a friend of mine, right?" Superboy says, continuing to smile, "And, like .. this is the funny part, wait just a second .. I don't believe in karma. But I'll be _happy_ to force it along artificially." Well, needless to say, one day Cassie'd be able to do much the same as the Kid in red and blue tights.. Nicely forming red and blue tights.. did Cassie realize that before? Well, she kinda does now in her position. Not that Bart's any less cute, mind you.. just Superboy just saved her from getting thunked.. He's suddenly become quite attractive.. Quickly hopping to her feet, now that she's given the chance, her hands rest on her hips as she eyes the man. "I"d listen to him if /I/ were you." Finding his arm quite snared, the man whirls about, stumbling a little to catch his balance as there isn't that much give to his wrist. And the look on his face is priceless when he sees who's got him. First shock, then disbelief - and then pure, unmitigated fear. His ruddy face pales, as he drops to his knees. "Sweet mary....!" "That's Saturday nights only, hotshot," Superboy says in a dry voice, "most other nights, you know, I wear guy's clothing and call myself Superboy. Now, then." He looks up at Cassie and winks, one of those horribly cocky ones. "Now, then. Were you about to touch my friend?" "Wow.. Superboy, thats quite a first impression you have on people." She smiles sweetly, deciding she enjoyed watching this big bully sink to his knees. "Did you talk to Impulse? There was this little girl, really sickly, and barely any close. This guy's suppose to be her father, I'd wager the guy beats the snot out of her." She barely contains her disgust.. Well, actually, she diesn't disguist it too well, her nose wrinling upwards, offering the man a snarl. Superboy says nothing at Cassie's words, but the shock that crosses his face, the trembling of the lip and the quirk of the eyebrows, is enough to show his utter disgust. Especially at Cassie's tone and words, the man soon builds up his previous fire, turning his head to glare at her. "F*ck you!" he spits out, before turning back to Superboy. "And F*ck you too! This is my home! Get out!" Of course, he then has to make the mistake of actually throwing a punch at Superboy with his free hand. Its times like these that Cassie really wishes she had super powers.. Oh how she wishes she could just belt this guy into orbit.. Her platinum hair, tight tight curls around her eyebrows shake a bit, from the action of her own head, moving back and forth in disgust. "I think.." She begins, waiting for Superboy's reaction to the futile punch. "This guy needs some serious time at the police station." Of course it never occurs to her that if Superboy /hadn't/ been there, she'd been in major trouble, or how she shouldn't have stuck her nose into the window.. or fallen through. Of course not! Never Cassie.. Superboy flinches at the hit, and visibly falters. He stumbles back, his face contorted into an expression of pain. "Urrrggh!" he exclaims, a bit too loudly to be real. He keeps his eyes squinted, one hand still locked onto the man's wrist. After a moment, however, he opens one eye and peeks out. He giggles, and straightens his back. "Loser," he says, shaking his head, the smile staying with him the whole time. "Loser. _Bullets_ don't hurt me, man." Breezing in - literally - and carrying someone with lots of purple and blue, Bart stops short and looks around. "No cops?" he mouths to himself. "/Grife/, slow." He shakes his head, then his eyes widen when he sees Superboy and Cassie, and...that /guy/! He puts down his passenger, and yells, "He's not her father! He's a /kkidnapper/!" Struggling futiley, the man glares at Superboy, the young hero's demeanor only serving to stoke the man's ire. "Yeah??" he demands, frustrated and angry. "Yeah?? Well what about her??" And so saying, he tries to punch Cassie, hard as he can. Impulse whooshes Cassie out of the way. He does that kinda thing, y'know. Even if SB stops him? He gets her outta there. Yeah. Impulse has done lots of girl-carrying tonight. Just an observation. Whoooooooooooooosh, one instant Cassie sees her life flash before her.. the next she's standing next to hte girl wearing lots of purble and blue.. . o O(New costumed hero??!?) Superboy, stunned at first, breathes a silent, quick breath as Impulse rushes in. Thank god for synchronicity. There's barely a pause between Cassie's rescue and Superboy's next action, as he balls up his fist and slams it into the man's side, striking a blow for Youth Rights everywhere. "F*** you," he says, snarling. "Just f*** you." Suddenly, the Spoiler is there . .courtesy of Impulse. She looks a bit disoriented a holds her head, "Whoa . . Where am I again?" She looks around a moment, "Looks just like home. How nice. Tell me again why I'm travelling fifty miles to go to a city that looks just like Gotham?" Blinking up at Steph (hellyeah, she's taller than he is - you got a problem with that?), Impulse says quickly, "Not most of it!" Then he scowls, "Just the nasty parts. Like here. You recognise him?" Crumpling at the blow, the man gurgles in pain as he folds over, still unable to collapse properly because of his snared wrist. Just after the blow though, the sounds of sirens can be heard blaring down the street - and getting closer. Silence, Cassie takes a few steps back from the main group, just for maybe one fraction of a millisecond, she realizes just how utterly futile it all is.. No powers, no skills, nothing to help but be a victim.. The kind of person you yell at on the movies to get the hell out of the way.. You know, like the big busted woman that knows she shouldn't go into the room, but does anyway? Like some blonde bimbo.. Cassie's at a loss .. She? A victim? Cassandra Sandsmark? Well, like I said its only a second, after all, she was rescued, and its all right now.. She helped stop a kidnapper! Right? Yeah.. right. Superboy swings his head in the direction of the sirens. "Damn," he says, softly, raising his left hand to the back of his neck. However, one thing is for certain - he's maturing with time. Slowly. For he realizes that Superman wouldn't run from the police when Superman did the right thing. And neither shall he. Impulse tilts his head slightly, listening. "Spoiler?" he prompts. "You're gonna have to tell the police who he is. Is it the same guy? Jenna's unconscious." Hissing into Impulse's ear, Cassie whispers, "Mom's gonna kill me if she finds out, I'm gonna boot out the window.." Eyebrows shooting up, Bart looks at Cassie. "I can get you back quick...you wanna watch it wrap up and make a statement?" He asks, softly. Then he grins. "And we can pick up your christmas present on the way back?" Spoiler eyes the now probably very injured man, "Oh, sure. You know, kidnapper, con artist, two-bit crook. What's he doing here?" She pauses at the mention of the police, "Well . . see me and the police have an agreement. I don't let them catch me and stay out of jail, they pretend they solved the crimes and take the credit. Really, you know . . it's like anchovies and chocolate. Two different flavors that you're not supposed to mix." Impulse ahs. "Gotcha. Well. These are the New York cops. They're gonna need at least your assurance that you've seen him before, or he's gonna deny he's from Gotham and all. He'll probably deny it anyway? But it'd be good to have some extra assurance.." Soon, the sirens are almost on top of the building, and a pair of blue-shirt cops bursts into the room, guns drawn as they scope out the scene. A group of costumed youths (minus one), and a fat guy writhing in pain on the floor. The older of the two cops turns to Superboy, who's still holding the man. "You call this in?" Chewing on her bottom lip, Cassie eyes Spoiler with great curiousity.. . o O(Wow.. wonder who she is.. Gotham?!? Totally rad..! ) Though, she nervously shifts her stance from one foot to the other.. Watching for the cops with great nervousness, as they bust in, she just groans, knowing she's going to be grouned for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks.. Spoiler makes a face. "Let's just bring him back to Gotham and let them book him. New York's Finest are cool and all, but you know . . somehow I just doubt he'll be convicted for anything here. Call it a hunch." She adds. Impulse steps forward. "I did. I brought the girl to the hospital. Then," and yeah, he's speaking quickly, "I called you when she'd told me she was kidnapped, and I got back here and my friend Cassie was about to get pounded by this guy, but Superboy was in here, and he stopped him, and I'd brought Spoiler here to identify him because he's from Gotham and so is she." A weak wristed wave from Cassie, as she offers the officers a crooked grin. Chewing on the inside of her mouth more, she continues to shift nervously, as though she can't hold still. The policeman just gives Impulse a emotionless stare for a moment, not sure if he should ask for a repeat of that, or just nod. Finally, he decides to switch topics, motioning back to Superboy. "You can let go of him now, son. Is what your friend here said true?" Impulse ose, then gives the cop the address of the hospital. Superboy nods slowly at Impulse's words. For the moment, his mouth is shut and his lips are tight against each other, as if he's afraid of the possible outcome of this scenario. He raises one hand to the back of his neck and, finally, steps away from the man. "Yeah," he says, softly. "I'm sorry for the excess in violence. I've .. people who hurt children, you know..." his voice trails off and he looks up at the officer. "You know." Cassie can just see it now, Helena picking up the newspaper, her daughter's name in the paper.. associated with Superboy and Impulse.. With an image of pure terror, she can just see her mom freaking out, the yelling she'll get for sticking her nose into super hero business.. *gasp* she might even take her back to her home and go to public school.. Ooh MAaAaaAaAaaan! Impulse looks oddly at Cassie, wondering why the heck she's freaking. Spoiler takes a bundle of papers and photographs out of a sack she has with her across her shoulder, "Here." She says, holding it out for the cop, "This is everything you should need to make sure he stays in jail for a while. Not that I don't trust you to find it too or anything." She doesn't look too happy about having to deal with the cops. "Yeah, I know," the cop responds to Superboy, his voice heavy. He motions to his partner, who begins a search of the rest of the house, as he approaches the kidnapper, cuffing him. "We've actually got a file on this one already," he informs Spoiler, as he takes the papers. "Repeat offender, just completed a ten year sentence three months ago." He scans the information. "Though it looks like Gotham'll be happy you found him. Didn't know he was operating down there." Impulse is starting to look antsy, too. Trying her best to hide her face, by standing either behind Impulse, then behind Spoiler, all the time doing her damndest to remain anonymous, without causing attention to herself. Cassie's trying her best to hide her face, by standing either behind Impulse, then behind Spoiler, all the time doing her damndest to remain anonymous, without causing attention to herself. Spoiler crosses her arms, "Yeah, well try to keep your crooks here. Not like we don't have enough scum of our own to deal with." She offers in response. Apparently she's not actually afraid of law enforcement, she just doesn't like them much. As his partner arrives from elsewhere in the building, the policeman nods to those assembled, "You know, alot of people in this town aren't sure about superheroes.. But you guys are all right. Thanks for your help." He does give Spoiler a little bit of a 'hmph' look, but the words were mainly directed to Superboy and Impulse anyways. Regardless, he heads out, with the crook in tow, back to his car and ultimately the police station. Impulse heys, we got the thumbs up. He turns to Cassie, "You wanna come to the HQ? We're all probably heading there anyway." As the police leave, Cassie's shoulders slump *phew*, "Ooh geeze I thought I was totally in for it.. Maaaaaan I thought I was toast. Dead. WRinged out.." Impulse blinks. "Why? When?" Of course, again Cassie's ears perk as she gazes from Impulse to Spoiler, then oveer to Superboy. Uhm, she supposes she should thank him, really? Probably? Yes? "Oh, uhm, Superboy? Thanks for uhm, stopping that guy.." She offers a crooked grin, that sloped easy coming smile of hers. Superboy glances up at Impulse, and then down at the ground. "Excessive violence," he says, softly, "I could have seriously hurt .. umn .. him ..." his voice fades as Cassie speaks, and the scowl washes from his face. "Yeah," he says, that cocky, crooked grin returning. "No worries." Impulse is a headcase. This is an established fact. "Let's get out of here. It smells. Nothing bad happened, and everything worked out, so quit moping. Anyone and everyone. I'll get pizza! No Thai food, I /swear/." Spoiler points to her mask, "It's a bit hard to eat in this thing. You'll understand if I just watch you." She says, suddenly feeling slightly uncomfortable in this atmosphere of other heroes. "Screw masks, says I!" Superboy chuckles as he begins walking out of the room, the heavy weight slowly lifting from his shoulders, "I say go public. Be able to eat! Meet interesting people! Get death-threats in the mail!" Impulse ehns. "I could get you a different mask to use temporarily, Spoiler." Shrugging, Cassie hops out after Superboy, speaking a mile aminute. "Say, what made you go in there anyway? Did you see the guy with your x-ray vision? " She inquires, having no idea aobut powers of Super people. save what Superman has. "That was totally awesome." She states, in almost adoration. Superboy slows down as Cassie approaches him. he brushes hair out from in front of his eyes and nods, cheerfully. "Actually, yeah," he says, patting a jacket pocket. "X-Ray specs, man. They're all sorts of fun. I've sworn, like, twenty oaths to old friends Not To Use Them For Evil Or Selfish Reasons. So I don't use 'em a lot, though I could think of a hell of a lot of uses." Impulse grins at Cassie, shaking his head, and follows behind, talking with Spoiler. "Seriously, I mean, I don't know who you are anyway. And you can, like, put it on in another room or something, y'know? And it's mean you could have pizza." Smirking at the Boy of Steel? Is that right? Cassie's eyes flash towards his pockete. "Ooh, so its not just eyes.. Like Superman, but artificial? Totally Awesome!" Spoiler eyes Superboy, not sure how to feel now that she's actually got the chance to meet him, while responding to Impulse, "Well, I suppose. Let me just stop off somewhere on the way to get a mask with a mouth hole in it." She says, not really sure about doing this. "Technology," Superboy says, with a cheerful voice, "is a beautiful thing. I have heat-ray vision with 'em, too," he notes, "which essentially means that I can act as a toaster. And I can see in the dark and .. err .." he pauses, and then looks a bit confused. "Admittedly, I don't know everything it can do." Impulse hehs. "Awright." He raises his eyebrows. "Besides, you never actually saw the headquarters, right?" Quirking her eyebrow upwards, Cassie gives Superboy a mildly curious stare.. Her fingers shove into the pocket of her jacket, as she makes her way towards the headquarters. " You don't know everything it can do?" She repeats, astonished, before a sly look crosses her expression.. Damn damn.. she can't ask that.. Its with some regret, as she tries to keep up with Superboy's stride, that she inquires.. "Well, they certainly came in handy today." A brilliantly, all teeth smile flashes at Superboy. You walk into Greenwich Studios. Main Foyer - Titans HQ(#716RJ) Art deco is the key to this room, as it is to much of the building itself. Long, swooping lines arc upwards toward the ceiling like Lucifer begging for redemption, climbing their way toward the heavens in an unending battle to reach the stars. The doorways are long and lean, with firm angles and well-crafted frames. In some bizarre manner, everything feels extremely ornate - yet the room is almost minimalist, the opposite spectrum from anything baroque. The floor is covered by a long, deco patterned carpet which leaves half a foot between itself and the wall on all sides. The light is provided by lamps which (again) have a deco feel - thin triangles, they seem to offer a softer, purer light than any halogen bulb could imagine. The room itself is wide and rectangular, with a small lowered section to one side with a number of couches and loveseats. It serves as the central focus of the room - both a gathering place and an architectural centerpiece. Surrounding the room are large panes of glass which let in beautiful outside light. Next to each window is a door leading to other areas of the headquarters - and, in one case, the door is something of an archway leading to what appears to be a lounge. Superboy nods vigorously, continuing his conversation with Cassie. "Incredibly so," he says, "I mean .;. I don't know. One of these days, I'm gonna sit down and pry that damn thing apart and find out what it does. It'll be my luck that I accidentally trigger its nuclear bomb, or something, and die in the process, but .. hey. Cool." Impulse hees. "I'll be right back. Gotta get the pizza. Good pizza! Good! And what color mask you want, Spoiler?" Spoiler lags behind everyone, and when you see her next suddenly her hood is down and she's wearing a mask not unlike the one Alicia Silverstone wore in 'Batman and Robin'. Her long blond waves of hair are now clearly visible without her hood and mask to cover it up, making her appear decidedly more feminine than she does with her normal attire on. Turning her attention from Superboy, Cassie's gaze dances over to Spoiler.. aaaah.. new prey.. With a bounce over in her direction, Cassie's hand extends. "Hey.. I'm Cassie.." She begins, a wide, still crooked, yet very genuine smile on her lips, as she states this. "Nice to meet you Spoilder, Impulse has told me a lot about you." Okay, she just enough to know that she's a Goth chick.. Impulse ose. Well. Yeah. He grins. "Nevermind? What kinda pizza, people? Or I'll get the anchovymarshmalloepineapplesaurkraut one..." Giving Impulse a look.. "Ah .. " Comes Cassie's hesitant reply. "How about just pepperoni?" Her hand is still offered to Spoiler, as she waits for the teenager's reply. Impulse nods, and disappears. Spoiler nods to Cassie, "Hi Cassie." She replies, a bit surprised that she knows her 'name'. "Really? I didn't know he knew so much about me." She eyes Impulse for a moment before she says too late, "Wait . . " Right after he disappears. She sighs, "I guess you're wondering what fantastical powers I have?" She says to Cassie. Spoiler takes Cassie's hand finally and shakes it politely. "Me too," Superboy says from his position against the wall where he leans. "What's your deal? Why the name?" "ERm.." Cassie shakes her head to Spoiler. "Nah.. Thats cool.. I'm not nosey.. " Her gaze darts to the clock.. "Oooh geeze oh manoh manohmanohmanohman.. I gotta split.." She's dashing down the door and out the stairs before she can say much else.. "My mom is going to ground me for a century.. Until I'm thirty.." Spoiler watches Cassie leave, not really having time to tell her bye as she leaves. "Well, I 'Spoil' crimes. And I thought the last thing Gotham needs is another vigilante named after a flying animal, so I called myself the 'Spoiler'." Impulse comes in, carrying a couple of plain cheese pizzas. "Pepperoni's like," he starts, carefully setting them on a table, "Kinda weird hot. Better cold." Impulse blinks. "Where'd Cass go?" "Yeah," Superboy says, casually, "sounds like a good enough reason to have a codename as any other." He glances at Impulse, and gestures toward the door. "Had to leave. Forgotr about a curfew ,or something." "Curfew," he fehs, scowling. "Parents suck." The young speedster totals about half a pie, then remembers they're not utterly his. So he leaves off. Spoiler helps herself to one slice and starts to eat it, taking small sized bites. "So you guys live here?" She inquires curiously. "'Live'?" Superboy says, mulling over the word. "Depends on how you define it. Yeah, we live here. Although it's more like one long, massive camp-out in a gorgeous house without parents. At least, without too many parents." Impulse grins. "Without /real/ parents. Nightwing and Starfire don't count. Or Atom." He wrinkles his nose. "Atom's a good guy," Superboy stresses, almost an automatic response to Impulse's words. Impulse ehns. "Don't try too hard to convince yourself." Then he adds gruffly, "'Tho I guess you're right. I guess." Spoiler smirks, "Sounds cool." She offers as she finishes about half her pizza. "I wish I could join you." She thinks to herself . o O ( If I had powers and maybe didn't need to go to school. Oh well. ) Impulse ers. "You did, already, didn't you? This /is/ the Titans. You joined, remember?" "'Think she means livin' here, 'Imp," Superboy says with a grin. "But, you know .. hey. I guess she's obligations." Impulse ose. Spoiler chuckles, "I mean live here. I know I joined." She replies as she munches on her pizza. "I think I like this mask. Maybe I'll wear it when I go out with the Titans from now on." Impulse grins. "Cool."
