The Habitat: Level 1 - Dormitory and Cafeterium(#641RFLgn) Circular in shape like the other floors, the Cafeterium takes up the center of the first level, with a completely stocked and functioning kitchen, as well as tables enough to seat a moderate number of people. Around the outer perimeter of the walls are a number of doors, spaced at set intervals. Each door is labeled with a symbol, designating the owner of the room. These are the dormitories, for those who wish to reside inside the base. One one side is a door labeled with a picture of a female, for the girl's room, and on the other side directly opposite is the boy's room, marked with a picture of a male. A double decker, triple scooped, chocolate, rocky road, and cookie dough coated in fudge and whipped cream, and a cherry on top rests before one proud teen. Eyes of blue widen even more as she settles towards the table, quick to begin delving into the extremely sugar intense desert before it melts all over things. Her very fibre seems to be active, squirming around in anticipation of the bite that drips off her spoon, being drawn up to her mouth.. and savored with a sound that can only be described as.. "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm." Thus, you will find one Cassie Sandsmark, better known as /Wonder Girl/. Teenaged heroine, best friend /and/ girlfriend to Impulse, and wanna-be Amazon, enjoying a well deserved treat. (While the kitchen is in a state of disarray in order to /get/ this incredible delight..) Just as the young Amazon starts humming along with her ice cream, enjoying it with a remarkable intensity, the turbolift hums and its doors part, revealing...Kid Flash. Yeah - there he is. Bart Allen, tall and standing straight, wearing the red and yellow. Wearing the old costume of the guy he told off and decked a few days ago. But - wearing a *costume*. Which means he must have accepted John's offer. Is this selling out? Is this giving in? Is this getting guilted or tempted into something that goes against his principles? ...no, not with the look on his face. He's biting his lip, looking afraid, resolute, and regretful, all at once - but then he sees the ice cream, and makes the effort to look at least reasonably cheerful. "Hi, Cass," he says softly, stepping out. For a good long time, Cassie's attention isn't /on/ the turbolift, or the hum, or the fact the doors are opening revealing someone she cares more about /than/ ice cream. (Maybe.) No, her eyes are wide, her attention rivoted on the bowl in front of her, as she takes another large scoop. And she does mean /large/. Huge. Enormous. Wide enough to cover her entire face, and -somehow-, she manages to shove that into her mouth. *Gulp*. After that, and once again, the sound erupts from her throat, a deep, resonant, "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm." Enjoying this 'treat' far too much, Cassie settles back in her chair more, one leg curling up beneath her, as she relaxes, shoulders slumping down, mouth set into an impish smile. It's that smile that is given to the doors of the turbolift, the delighted, impish, self confident, almost cocky and 'devilish', 'I'm doing something I really shouldn't but I'm enjoying it none the less'. Though the smile fades as soon as her eyes taken in not only the costume, but the attitude and attempted smile that comes with it. From delight, to forgotten ice cream and frown, Cassie rises from the chair, crooked leg dangling in mid-air, before it settles onto the ground. "Bart...?" Its the only thing she gets out, feeling its enough of a question to /get/ answers.. she hopes? "Didja leave any for me?" comes the response, with a real grin this time. All that other stuff is pushed back for the moment, as Bart, too, succumbs to the siren call of the icy sweet goodness that is the improperly made Sundae. It's always better when you put -everything- in it, after all. Bart clasps his hands behind his back, red-gauntleted and all, and offers a lopsided smile. "I can always get more if you didn't, though, no big deal." Oh - man, he's a little weird today, neh? Yeh. He lets his hands fall to his sides and tilts his head up slightly, then reaches out, not stepping forward much more, and lightly rests one hand on Cassie's shoulder - after a second, it falls away, his fingertips trailing down her arm a little before leaving. "We met at an ice cream shop, didn't we? The one in Bryant." A beat. "Manhattan..." "Yeah, actually, you did one of your domino effects, and I blackmailed you into giving me Wally's autograph." Comes Cassie's easy response, even if Bart's acting strange, that memory sends a quiet smile over the young heroine's lips. Though it fades just as fast, brows knitting together in confusion, not moving an inch from her spot, quick to add in as an after thought. "Actually the fridge is pretty stacked right now, I think Kid's been busy buying up half the markets between here and New York..." Her voice wavers momentarily, before her own hand reaches outwards, trying to clasp tightly onto Bart's shoulder - completely forgetting her quickly melting ice cream, as the large gooy substance begins to leak over the sides and onto the table, bringing with it the cherry on the top - as it slowly slides towards its doom. (And not in Cassie's mouth, sort of doom, either.) "Uhm." She begins, as her hand reaches outwards, trying to rest and clamp on Bart's shoulder. "Bart? You know, you and I can always talk, right? I mean, you know that anything you say, I'll listen, and I know that anything /I/ say - you'll listen. So believe me when I say, whatever is going on, I will listen and try to help - but it's kind of hard when you aren't telling me anything.." A string of words, without a breath taken, all Cassie, pure Cassie, completely freaked out /Wonder Girl/. "Domino...yeah," responds Bart then, a little distantly, preoccupied. Remembering. He grins, but is still looking through Cassie. All of a sudden, the young Amazon'll see his eyes abruptly focus on her, as he comes back to the present. The grin sticks around. "I was two, but you had -no- clue. Man, did that stuff ever crack me up." He startles as Cassie takes *his* shoulder, looking at her hand, then down at her eyes again. "I know. I know - I'm sorry." His smile falters, then disappears completely. "I...I said I'd never apologize for Wally again. And I won't. But he *does* need me, and I can never say no to that. Not after everything he's done for me, and not when I know...when I know I broke his heart by leaving." He crosses his arms across his stomach, tightly; his hair's falling into his face. "And he's my blood, you know? Like an annoying big brother. I have to go get him, Cass...even though they might kill me before I even get there. He needs to at least know I don't hate him." "Whoooooooooooah! Hold. Two points. Wait. Go back. Real it in. Head back to first base .." Cassie's voice suddenly erupts in defense, as her hand goes limp on your shoulder. "Wait, wait, wait. As much of a difference as you had with Wally, he's a nice guy, he's a good person and I knew it wouldn't last, but what the heck are you -talking- about?" Her voice rises a pitch, as her hand falls from Bart's shoulder, to drift towards her own waist, wringing around and around with her other hand. "What do you mean? Who'll kill you? Forget it! You're not going without me, or TMS, we're a team, /team/. Teams stick together, through thick and thin, and you and /I/ stick together through thick and thin, and I ain't going to let you do this! I mean, whatever happened, don't you think Wally can't get out on his own? I'm confused." Her words fall together again, a rush of sound that finishes with Cassie flinging her hands up into the air, rising a good two inches off the ground. "Wally's special to all of us, but he wouldn't want you to ruin your life.. Not without backup!" Wait, that didn't sound quite right.. . Oh so gently, Bart takes Cassie's hands, seperating them and holding them in his own. He smiles again and looks a little bit sad, shaking his head. "No...no, Cassie. Jesse Quick might come with me - I'm fairly certain she will. I would have asked the team - I would have asked you - but...I'm gonna be time travelling. I'm gonna be getting him from out of an era where time travel is so illegal it's a capital offense. If I don't get him out - if *we* don't get him out, they're gonna dissect him, Cass. I can't let them dissect my...my brother, can I?" His hands have Cassie's a little tightly now - a little desperately. "He can't get out on his own. He's trying to fix the thing that John Fox broke - the thing that made us lose our power. But they have him now..." "GREAT ZEUS!" Wonder Girl's hands lock, clasp, and grab onto Bart's own, as her voice rings out in her annoyance. "Holy HERA!" Another exclaimation as Cassie plants herself back on the floor, astonishment and shock set into her features. "Oh maaaaaaaaaaaan. Ohmanohmanohmanohmanohman." A few more words break forth from her lips, as Cassie lets go of Bart, to storm back and forth in front of him. Her hands fling up into the air, as she paces to and fro, agitation set into her every action. "Nononononononononononono." Can she get any more vocal? Well, she's going to try, as she finally comes to a stop, whipping around to point an index finger at Bart. "I can't /believe/ this. Wally's stuck in some sort of futuristic -like world-, and you and Jesse Quick are going to rescue him, sans the help of /your/ team.. Nor even the like, Titans! This isn't fair! I.. I..." Stuttering once, and trying to argue herself out of it, only to almost litterally collapse into her chair, Cassie lets out a defeated breath, shoulders slumping. "If you die, I swear, I'll .. I'll hunt you down in Hades." He waits the storm out. He waits it out, listening. The boy in the Kid Flash costume knows he deserves it - it really is a shit thing to do, run off to the future when you know there's a good likelihood you'll get shot dead or worse. But - he wasn't the one who did it first, which is why he's going. Bending down silently to kiss Cassie's forehead, then lowering so he's sitting on his heels next to/in front of her chair, Bart looks a bit tired and fairly serious. "I wouldn't expect any less. But, I'm betting kinda solidly that dying hurts, and you know how squicked I get about pain, yeah? So don't worry too much. Probably I'll be back in ten minutes or something, your time." He reaches for her hand again. Big on this 'contact' thing. Clasping tightly onto Bart's hand, Cassie's brows furrow completely together almost, as she tries her best not to think about the 'bad', just focus on the 'good'. "If you're not back, Bart, I /will/ go to Olympus itself and do whatever it takes to make sure you /come/ back." She's damn serious, you know, she isn't going to just sit still and not do something, not when it didn't happen, or is it, not going to happen? She gets a headache just thinking about the consequences. Another defeated sigh is let out, as Cassie's fingers intertwine with your own. "I'll just go on record as saying I don't like this, and I don't agree with it, and if anything -does- happen to you, I'm gonna go nuts, so.. be careful." The words at the last are spoken with more seriousness than Cassie's usually given, as her bottom lip even /pouts/. A little. Kid Flash continues to hold the hand gently, resting them both on the seat next to Cassie. He looks up at her almost.../earnestly/...and nods once. "You don't have to like it or agree with it...I don't like it either, but it's what I have to do. Wally's the closest I have to blood family here, Cass...I mean, my mom - she's a thousand years away. So's my dad - except he's in the past to me, if that makes any sense. Grandma always says how she can't stay here 'cause she knows too much... this *is* the only right thing to do. I have to, I want to, I need to. Wally West, the Flash - he needs me. He needs his *partner*...which is why I thought I'd better look the part." Bart lets out a little sigh, frustrated - it's impossible to explain. He can't even explain it to himself. After a second of silence, he suddenly gets a bit of a devilish grin. "But, uh...if, you know, you'd go nuts if I didn't come back...think I could get a good-luck kiss?" "Well, you look really good in it." Comes Cassie's tone, as her eyes take in the form, "Better than Wally ever thought about." She continues, an attempt at an impish smile creeping into her face, before she states, ever so softly. "Well, a good luck kiss is a possibility. But you have to promise me one thing. You have to double dog /swear/ and promise me that you'll do it. Otherwise, you just get a peck." Kid Flash's eyes widen, and he leans in a little bit, just a little - not wacky-like. Mock innocent-like. "Do what? Get you your own personal jetpack from the future? But you can already fly!" Holding his hands up with a grin, quick like a bunny, Bart shakes his head. "Come back in one piece that's actually mobile?" Honesty is the best policy. Honesty is the best policy. Honesty _is_ the _best_ policy. His smile loses a little of its brilliance. "I'll do my best, Cassie. I'll do my best to save Wally's life and come back to you, whole, sane, and healthy. I'll do my best to save the day, to fix the problems I can, to try not to beat myself up over the problems I can't fix." If he were younger - if he were a little less deathly afraid and a little more frightened (instead) - he'd be starting to cry. Even so, you can see the telltale muscles working to keep his lower lip from trembling. "I'll do my best to keep *all* of my family happy...all of it." Wally, the other speedsters, TMS, Iris, the Titans...and yes - you, Cassie. You. Shaking her head once, Cassie listens to Bart go on, knowing that the youth /will/ do everything in his powers to do exactly as he speaks - if not for her, than really for every part of his family. "That wasn't what I was going to make you swear to." She states softly, bottom lip being chewed around by her upper teeth. "I want you to promise, double dog swear that you'll be careful. Thats all I ask. Just .. be careful." Her lashes lower down, as she takes in another deep breath, letting it out ever so slowly. "Kay?" Exhaling all of a sudden, Bart nods emphatically. His voice lowers to a very quiet pitch - very quiet, and very serious, but with an exhilaration behind it. "I will. That's the other reason I'm wearing this...it won't be a reckless, Impulsive little kid going to try and save the day. It won't be Impulse come to rescue Wally. Do you understand..? I've...this is something, you know, I've thought this out. I thought about it a lot, especially when my brain was molasses." Holding Cassie's hands tightly, not so much desperately as happily, now, Bart grins. You can see it - more than ever before, his legacy's got him. It's infecting him. "It'll be Bart Allen going, the kid - the kid version of Bartholomew Henry Allen. The Flash. Kid Flash. I'm gonna do this right - I'm gonna do this the way my grandpa would've done this. It'll -work-." Bart is not going to get much else out, cause well, he made a promise, and he's sticking to it. He's going in not as a reckless youth, not as Impulse, but as part of the boy that she just fell hopelessly for. Sweeping her arms around him, Bart gets a well deserved kiss. Long. Drawn out. Inexperienced, but sweet non the less, Cassie plants her mouth over his and doesn't let go. Talking about good luck kisses!
