Bart Allen: Tall and lanky, with longish sideburns and a disheveled Ramones-length mop of thick, slightly wavy hair, Bart Allen is dressed to kill. Wearing a classic black suit and black tie over a button-down oxford shirt, you could almost mistake the older teen for a stunt double of Elwood Blues - right down to the sunglasses and buffed leather dress shoes. On his lapel is a tiny enamel pin - a red circle with a yellow lightning bolt through it, cutting across diagonally; on his face is a truly wicked grin. Cassie: She wears a black t-shirt, the fabric hangs loosely over her thin frame, as it drops easily over a pair of spandex crimson shorts. The front contains twin gold 'W's, the emblem of Wonder Woman. Just below, etched in red paint, a bright 'G', has been carefully written onto the shirt. The red shorts drop down to her knees, hugging close to her thin frame. She wears a set of elbow and knee pads, while a pair of grey gloves mold over her young hands. A black leather jacket hangs loosely over the shirt, with long sleeves that rest against her wrists. The bottom has been buttoned together, allowing the jacket to flare outwards. Finally, her outfit is completed by a pair of well worn white sneakers. Metro: The Habitat - Abandoned Project Cadmus Facility Like the fabled redwood forests in California, the trees of the Habitat rise high above the ground, hundreds of feet into the blue sky. Towering like giants, they provide a canopy against the bright sun and harsh weather, allowing only sprinkles of sunlight to filter through the blanket of leaves of branches high above. An eerie silence permeates the landscape, lacking the familiar sounds of chirping insects and woodland animals, with only the occasional rustle of leaves to signal life and movement. Off in the distance at the edge of the forest lies a small mountain, visible only when viewed from above the treetops. Perched high within the thick forked branches of a few of the trees are several dome shaped structures made of advanced composite alloys, linked to each other by translucent tunnels. Though they appear new, they are as lifeless as the rest of the unusual forest, with no activity to be found within. The only companions found here are the titanic trees, standing tall like pillars that hold up the sky. It's deadly silent in the wood surrounding the Habitat - the Cadmus-provided headquarters for the world's youngest superteam. No birds, no wind, no little nuffly animals. Just...silence. Anyone moving through these woods has the odd, creeping sensation of being watched - but as soon as one turns to look, there's nothing there. Just trees. Even flying overhead, the feeling is there. Unseen eyes, watching, waiting. Standing on the lowest deck, leaning on the rail and watching the wood as surely as it watches him, Bart Allen stands tall and thoughtful, chewing on a coffee-stirrer absently. His hair stays where he puts it, not stirred by wind or movement to flop into his face, and the expression on his face is one of preoccupation. He's wearing that suit again. A low wolf-whistle escapes Cassie's lips, as she makes her way out, pausing just past the threshold of the entrance. The shadows keep a good bit of secrecy to her face, though to those that may watch.. she's as bright as day. "Aren't /you/ looking down right irressistable this evening." A glimmer of delight streaks itself across her features, as her arms cross over her chest, shoulder resting up against the frame. Quietly, her eyes shift past Bart, to view the woods beyond, unable to stop the slight shiver that runs over her, mouth sweeping from the twisted grin of delight, into the scowl again. "Are they still out there?" Her voice is whispered soft, nose wrinkling once. Turning to glance at the sudden noise of feet behind him and the familiar voice, Bart appears to zone in. He reaches up to scratch his nose, and takes the stirrer out of his mouth with a wry look. "You mean I don't always look irresistable?" he asks, all innocence. With Cassie's second question, however, his shoulders slump slightly. Lose some of their definition. "Yeah," he says quietly. "They're watching us like we're gonna suddenly, I dunno, try to take over the world or something. I feel like I'm getting stalked, and like someone's gonna pounce any second. Someone who can actually catch me." "Then." Comes Cassie's response, as she takes a step forward. "Lets go somewhere, they can't follow us, at least immediately." Her hand reaches out towards you, as a wry grin spreads itself over her features. "Some where, they can't exactly reach as quickly as they like, that not even /you/ can get to." Again, the wry smile keeps itself firmly on her features, as her hand still remains outstretched, waiting for Bart to either agree, or disagree. "Sides, have I got a /story/ to tell, you wont like, BELIEVE what happened, and I have so little desire to have people listen in." Her head tilts towards the woods again, black wig rustling slightly under the motion, while keen blue eyes twinkle with delight. Normally our young role model of a hero would never condone littering, but this is an exception. Bart Allen oh-so-innocently flicks his coffee-stirrer over the railing and into the woods with a vicious speed and listens closely - and there it is, the audible *THAK* of plastic hitting skin at a stinging velocity. He grins and takes his shades off, his amber eyes looking down at Cassie's bright blue ones, then takes her hand. "Lay on, Macduff," he says cheerfully, quietly. Her own response is a twisted grin, almost vicious in design, for though she can't /see/ it go whizzing past, the resounding *THAK* is enough to bring about a very unholy satisfaction. With a quick sweep, Cassie wraps her arms around Bart's mid-section, and takes to the air. Moving at her top speed, which is like, major slow for a speedster but nice for her, naturally, the ground quickly disappears beneath both, as the habitat and woods become smaller.. and smaller, until they appear as barely a dot. Soon, the clouds come rushing upwards, the darkness they provide offering shelter from prying eyes, as Cassie sweeps straight through them, avoiding any spots that contain water.. thus, not even a drizzle of rain clings to the clothing, until the heavens appear above, and the mushroom cloud of dark shadows appear below, leaving nothing but the sky, and luna's light to greet ones view. Shivering reflexively at the shock of the cold air above the clouds, Bart wraps his arms tightly around Cassie. His eyes widen at the sight, and his voice is very, very soft as he says, almost whispering, "I always forget...it's so beautiful. Cassie...it must be heaven to be able to fly." He glances up at the stars, unwavering, and at the moon so clearly outlined and lacking its usual haze; his eyes travel down to the highlit blossoms of cloud beneath them. Then he looks at the Wonder Girl - and his eyes are still full of awe. Seeing this view through another's eyes always creates a feeling deep within, the refreshing of ones memories, as they are able to once again see it as they remember, though Cassie has spent many a day up in the heavens, flying being one of, if not the single most important gift she holds.. to witness the awe Bart holds creates the same emotion in her. Her light blue eyes lift upwards, taking in the moon, the heavens above, with its twinkling stars, and pale illumination.. to shift back down, following Bart's gaze, viewing the wonderland of dark, rumbling marshmellows below. "It's.." She begins, "It's the most incredible gift, I could ever, /ever/ have received." Her own eyes meet Bart's, arms wrapping around him in return, a crooked grin suddenly crossing as she starts to lean forward, only to stop, chewing her bottom lip, "Anyway, I wanted to tell you what happened .. th'other day." Aww...chewing -her- bottom lip. Oh well, maybe later. Bart manages to mask his look of disappointment breathtakingly well, squeezing very very slightly tighter, briefly, to indicate that he's hugging in addition to hanging on for dear life. The lanky kid nods, eyebrows up. "Tell me!" Then he grins. "And pleeeease don't drop me." Yup, chewing on /her/ bottom lip, hey, she was thinking about a nice little smooch, maybe later. Still, Cassie's eyes flash with delight, as she returns the squeeeze hug as well, suddenly starting in on her tale. "Well, I got to meet the Titans and actually talk with Darkstar! For a little bit at least, this weird little alien smurf crashed into Bryant Park and started sending plants to life, attacking people and things, but in the end, Darkstar and them managed to rout it, and wow. Just wow. She was so cool, even signed my /book/! The one page that I was saving for her, you know? The original Wonder Girl." Taking in a deep breath of the cold night air, Cassie lets it out quickly, "Oh and as if I want squished boyfriend." "Pancake Bart would be bad," agrees the teenaged tornado, grinning. He tosses his head back to get his hair out of his face, then pfffts upward to continue the job - and, aha, that seems to satisfy him. Bart grins again. "So Darkstar, huh? Her autograph? I dunno, I'd rather have -your- autograph. You're the one with the name, after all. Besides, you have a cooler origin story."
