Oracle - Friday, January 29, 1999, 12:23 AM ------------------------------------------- The Place: New York: Warrior's Bar Vastness and sheer size are the first things that you notice about this place. The floors are dark hardwood, which is polished to a nice smooth shine. The main bar is a half rectangle that resides on the left side of the room. It is an old fashioned bar with oak for a body and brass railings and trim about it. There is a long mirror behind the bar, both for seeing yourself and those who arrive behind you. Above the bar is a covered railing that has various paintings, carvings, or other pieces of art depicting warriors from various time periods. About the room are multiple tables, usual sturdy ones that are made of oak with chairs of the same ilk. Multiple doors lead from here into other parts of this vast establishment. There are various pictures of Guy Gardner, and other heroes, giving you a clue as to the theme of the room you are going into. There are also various doors that inform you of employee restricted areas. There is also a main stage in this room, as with the bar it is made of oak and trimmed with brass. It looks like it would be an excellent venue for any performance. The People: Wally: For being the Fastest Man Alive, Wally is taking his sweet time and relaxing, in his casual attire. When not 'at the office' and 'on the job' Wally likes to wear simple clothing, like the rather worn pair of Levis, a pair of almost-ratty canvas sneakers and a plain tucked-in white t-shirt. About his left wrist is a gold watch, and on his ring finger right hand is a ring, with the 'Flash' insigna on it. Wally is a trying for the 'fairly average looking American guy' type look, which is not so easily accomplished with his dashing good looks, well managed physique and red hair. His bangs part and hang over his thick dark eye brows, fading down to his Elvis-length sideburns. His bright baby-blues are firm above his strong square jaw, that is set above his broad shoulders and lean form. Roy Harper: A strong hand slips up to brush back a lock of blondish red hair that has fallen over the man's clear blue eyes. With a smile that is nearly constantly present, the mischevious glint in his eye, and his exuberance, the red-head's charm and good looks are given a slight boyish quality. His height and muscular built down-play Roy's boyish appearance, making it obvious the time, effort and dedication that the man possesses to achieve such shape. The outfit that Roy chose for tonite certainly shows off this shape. He is wearing a black leather vest that hangs open to reveal his bare, rippled stomach and chest, the sleeveless look allowing his hugely defined arms free reign. Tight black jeans frame his buttocks and legs, and black motorcycle boots finish the outfit. Roy Harper moves with a fluid ease that shows both his grace and a large amount of training and confidence to boot. Kyle: You see a handsome Caucasian male in his mid 20's. He has hazel eyes and a short styled crop of straight black hair. His current attire consists of a black t-shirt with the words "Crystal Method" across the front, over which is worn a burgundy plaid unbuttoned flannel shirt, faded blue jeans, and black Nike high-top tennis shoes. Bobbi: A bright yellow bob of soft, wavy hair frames the sweetest, china-white face in the world. Bright red baby-pouting lips set off the only other color in her perfect face: her brilliant, empty blue eyes. Pretty she may be, but intelligent she is not. Bobbi is wearing an off-the shoulder pink sweater-shirt, which somehow manages to enhance her lovely, athletic physique without looking in the least provocative. A lone string of pearls accents her slender neck. Her denim skirt is unbelieveably short, and shows off her unbelieveably long legs...on her feet are a pair of modest pink flats. What a dish. Bambi There are some women you can't help but notice, whether it be for good looks or bad. This young lady is one of those types - while she might not make the cover of Cosmopolitan, there's still something about her that draws the eye. Though she's tall like a model, her build is just a little too slim in some places; not skinny, its more the hardness of someone in peak physical condition. Her narrow face is crowned by a shock of lustrous, flame-red hair that off-sets the mostly pale tone of her skin. Cropped much shorter than most would consider fashionable, on her it has striking appeal that thwarts modern style. A few wisps of bangs curl above her forehead while a slim braid begins to twine around her neck from the back. The rest of her features would border on delicate if not for the firm line of her chin and the narrow, almost upswept, shape of her emerald green eyes. Finishing off the symmetry, her tiny nose is perfectly centered above her delicate bow-shaped lips Skin-tight and supple red leather conforms to every line and curve of her sleek figure. A pair of four-inch heeled boots hug her calves, ending just below a shapely knee and thigh, unnecessarily boosting her height to almost six feet. The low cut bodice wraps around her midsection with a sweetheart bust line, two inches short of scandalous. The matching skirt clings to her slender thighs like a well worn glove, the hem stopping mid-thigh. Worn over the ensemble is an open light-colored fringed jacket, present more as a concession to morality than because of cool weather. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bobbi comes through the double glass doors from the street. The door opens and the laugher of two women floats in before they are seen. Wally grins as his beer is finished and then in the next instant he has another. "It's something I'm working on with Impulse... you know, darting right in there." He grins, as he seems to be all about teasing tonight. "See, Roy, I told you GL might actually be useful for something." Wally and crew are sitting in a booth off to one side, all with a mug in front of them sipping away. "Slave labor at the cost of will." He teases Kyle more. Breaking in the new guy. Bambi drags her friend in by the arm, "Come on.. I'm telling you. This is like the place." her green eyes flash, as she leans in to whisper, "Real life super heros! I'll just die!" "Ohh...migod! You're for /real/, aren't you? Ohmigod!" As soon as she actually gets in the door, Bobbi stops struggling, eyes wide. "Wow! I hope, like, there're some here tonight...you think they'll be, like, in spandex?" She giggles, looking around. Kyle Rayner chuckles. "Yeah, one minute you're sitting near the tarmac getting some sketching done... the next you're playing air traffic controller... the hard way." He drinks from his mug, then nods to Roy as he excuses himself to use the little archer's room. Wally hopes Roy doesn't misfire with his arrow too much (bad one, but it's late, okay?) "Oh, yeah. The sketch pad. Makes sense, considering that night I say GL with the pad and paper. So, you do that for a living? Not just the GL deal?" Wally speedsips at his beer, which is already half-gone already. But, as he looks up and around he notices two ladies that enter, and well, gee.... they stand out, comparred to the other patrons here. Perhaps he wishes he wasn't famous now... "Ah, er, where was I? Oh yeah, well, hi and welcome..." Bambi leans in and whispers something to her friend then giggles some. Lucky for her, she's got a nice giggle, or it would soon get very annoying. Tugging on Bobbi's arm, she moves towards the bar, "We'll have the best view from there..." You whisper "Well even if we don't see anyone famous, least they have some cute guys here." to Bobbi. Bobbi ohhs, "The bar? Are you sure? Like, we coulda just got drunk at Jimmy's kegger...I don't wanna get sick in front of anyone, like, /really/ hot, okay?" The girl looks reluctant enough...and her wandering eyes light upon Wally. West. Wally West! She tugs at Bambi's arm, eyes widened even more, and whispers. Bobbi whispers "Look! The Flash! And a /really/ cute guy next to him..." Bambi rolls her eyes and gives Bobbi a 'I can't believe you said that!' look, "So have a wine cooler, everyone knows you can't get drunk..." she trails off and her eyes widen to mach Bobbi's, "Really? Where!" she squeaks, then rises up on tip toe to scan the bar. Kyle Rayner wonders what Wally's looking at, then wonders no more as he exhales in awe. "Wow..." He turns back to Wally and stammers, "Um, um, um, yeah, that's part of the reason I'm even in New York now. Used to live in Los Angeles, that's where Ganthet hooked me up with the ring." Bambi starts sneaking stares over at Kyle and Wally's table, She mutters to Bobbi, "Are you... its him?... Wow he's... the dark haired guy... One... the... OH... think... could... Nightwing... god... DIE!! He's... hot " Bobbi senses "Bambi starts sneaking stares over at Kyle and Wally's table, "Are you sure its him?, Wow he's even cuter in person. Who do you think the dark haired guy is? One of the other Titans? OH WOW! Do you think maybe it could be Nightwing, god I'd just DIE!! He's so hot"" Wally nods. Umhum. "Ganthet, right." wally isn't really staring, like Kyle is. He's more looking to see what they are doing, as he slinks down in his chair a little bit. Maybe the srubbery around may help hide him. He tries to cover his face with his beer mug. Might look odd, but who knows? He wants to ask if they are coming this way, but that might make Kyle invite them, knowing his luck. "LA, hun? I've been that way once... kinda'. Didn't stay long. Seemed like a lot of politics and fake ... well, fake dealings." Bobbi tugs at Bambi's arm, giggling madly. She looks /just/ as much and /just/ as obviously (though she thinks she's being discreet) at the boys' table, and leans over to whisper to Bambi. "I don't...BUT him, silly...no, but the dark...and you can...Flash." Bobbi whispers "I don't think it could be anyone BUT him, silly. And wow! But Nightwing? He Gothamy, so no, but the dark-haired one is /mine/, and you can have the Flash." The pair start moving slowly towards Kyle and Wally's table. Trying to make it look like they aren't. At Bobbi's last words, Bambi's cute little bow mouth turns down into almost a pouty frown as she mutters to her friend. Bambi mutters to Bobbi, "... Thats'... idea... here!... had... Jimmy's... You... dibs... just... you saw... if... dark haired one." You whisper "Hey! Thats' not fair. It was my idea to come here! I had to drag you away from Jimmy's stupid kegger. You can't call dibs on him, just cause you saw The Flash first. Thats not fair. What if I wanted the dark haired one." to Bobbi. Kyle Rayner quickly turns to face Wally again. He doesn't want to seem like he's staring. "Yeah, plus it was the source of a lot of bad memories for me too..." He's having a hard time forgetting the two approaching women. Bobbi sighs, biting her lip, and looking imploringly at her friend. He mutters to Bambi, "... how... dark, and... don't you have... that /don't/... zits? They're..." You sense Bobbi sighs, biting her lip, and looking imploringly at her friend. "I'm sorry. But /please/? You /know/ how I am with tall, dark, and handsome men. And don't you have a thing for redheaded guys that /don't/ have zits? They're so rare..." Wally seems to instinctively touch his face for a moment. Nope... none on his face. But, Wally ducks and hides behind his beer mug a bit more now, sliding down until he is almost lying in his seat. "I'm sorry to hear that Kyle. But, jusging by the news, you've been showing more frequently in New York for months now. So, if it's something that's lasted that long, it's got to be, well, girl troubles? I've been there before." He peaks once, to see if the girls are still... dear lord! They're almost upon him! He ducks down once again. Bambi and Bobbi are now at the table right in front of the one Wally and Kyle use. She sighs, She mutters to Bobbi, "... owe me big..." she gives Kyle one last look, "Just cause that jerk Davy dumped you last week, thats the only reason why I'm giving in." she grins, "Besides, you're right, the red-head is sorta cute too" Bobbi senses "Bambi and Bobbi are now at the table right in front of the one Wally and Kyle use. She sighs, "Just this once Bobbi, but you owe me big time! and I mean big time" she gives Kyle one last look, "Just cause that jerk Davy dumped you last week, thats the only reason why I'm giving in." she grins, "Besides, you're right, the red-head is sorta cute too"" Kyle Rayner sees Wally duck under his mug and says, "What're you... oh." He slowly turns around to face the two girls. He nods and smiles to the two of them and turns back around to face the speedster, exhaling a bit. Wally certainly ctaches the red bit and the cute bit, and well, he becomes all the more red ... in the face as he has no choice but to sit up now and smile. A big blushing smile. "Hi, you guys likely know who I am," great, "And as you can see I'm having a drink with my new pal here. He's a real big GL fan. A real regular of a place like this. And you guys must be .. ???" Wait, wasn't his beer half-full an instant ago? And why is there now an empty mug before him and one 2/3rds gone in his hand now? Bambi flashes a brilliant smile in Wally and Kyle's direction. Her gaze lingers on Kyle for a moment, then turns to Wally, after all, he's the one who spoke first. "I'm Bambi" she croons, "This is my frined Bobbi." she bats her eyelashes coyly, "You mean you're.. really.. The Flash?" her eyes widen and her expression turns dewy. Equally charmingly, Bobbi smiles at the two men. "We thought you were...and thought maybe your friend was another Titan, Flash." She giggles softly, reaching up to tuck a loose lock of hair behind her ear. "Or can we call you Wally?" Then she turns to Kyle, eyes wide and totally breathtaking. "And /I/ don't care if you're not a Titan...what's your name?" Kyle Rayner kind of stammers out, "Uhh... I'm Kyle, nice to meet you." He has a VERY difficult time dragging his eyes away from Bobbi's. Wally speedtwacks Kyle's arm, faster than the eye can see, but slow enough to be felt. No need to drool, man. But the beer is instantly finsihed and set down. Part of the thing about living publically is dealing witht he good and then there is the bad as well.... like now. Ah, he tries to unblush as he smiles. "I suppose Wally is fine," he fines himself saying, instantly regretting it. "Nice to meet you. Both of you." Don't invite them to stay, Kyle, don't invite them to stay. he wishes he had telepathy as his superpower right now.... "Nice, ah, euhm, sweater ... Bobbi, wasn't it? And bambi, great .... shoes." Girls like to be complimented on their shoes, right? Bambi turns on the charm even more. With a subtle shrug of her shoulders, the fringed jacket slips down allowing a clear view of the ... wide .. expanse of creamy skin below, as her neck, shoulders, come into view. "Thanks" she purrs, then seems to get an almost shy hesitant look on her face, ducking her head, and looking up through her lashes, "Would you mind horridly if we sat with you... We've never been here before and well.. it is a bar in the middle of the Village...." she looks up a bit more and by golly, her expression is almost beseaching. Kyle Rayner blinks. As much as he wants to dispel most of the rumors about the male gender, the most he can manage is a slight shake of the head in response to the question of if he minded company. Wally twaps his hand to his forehead! Kyle, how could you! Oh no! Wait, he's got a hand twaped to his forehead! Wally tries to, with as much grace as he can, then lean on that elbow and support his head as though he meant to. "Sure, we'd love for you to join us." Oh, god. Another beer is in his hand, ready to go. Got to get them off him. "Kyle, my new buddy here, was just mentioning how he had moved a long way to meet some special ladies, such as yourselves. In fact, he did notice you when you irst came in. BOTH of you, I might add." As much as Bambi would love to slide in next to Kyle. She finishes taking off her jacket, then slides into the seat next to Wally. Beaming at him with a brilliant smile, "Gee, what they say about you is true.. I mean, going to such trouble to make a new friend happy..." she bats her eyelashes then wets her lips slowly, "Gee, I sure hope we can be friends too..." Bobbi slips gracefully into the seat next to Kyle, smiling demurely at him. She rearranges her hair ever so slightly, and in the process, her sweater slips down /just/ a little more, exposing way too much of that porcelain skin for such a small movement of cloth. She doesn't seem to notice, but her eyes light on Kyle's ring, and she quickly takes his hand in hers, gasping. "Oh my god!" she bubbles, "What an amazing replica!" Kyle Rayner says mistily, "Huh? Oh, the ring... um well, I'm an artist, actually. And a GL fan, so, well... I guess making myself a copy of his ring was just something destined, I suppose." He smiles with pride. Wally rubs absently at his ring finger, as at the moment there is no ring there. Wonder why that is? But he looks to Bambi and ... OH MY GOD!! She took her jacket off and is showing... lady, this is a family restraurant! Wally gulps, "Hun?" He shake shis head a little and finishes that beer. His fourth? Fifth? "Oh, yeah. Well, you know me, doing anything for a friend. But, er, I don't have time for ... well, maybe you could join my fanclub?" Bambi pouts ever so cutely, Fanclub? Man, I guess he's not really that super after all. But then again, she's not one to give up so easy. She inches closer, her shoulder almost brushing Wally's, "What would I have to do? I'm already wearing... Red." Not letting go of Kyle's hand, Bobbi tilts her head coquettishly and looks at him with wide-eyed, dumbfounded admiration. "And an artist, too," she breathes. "You...are /amazing/." The girl lets her hands fall to her lap, leaning toward the Green Lantern almost imperceptibly. She still doesn't let go his hand, and the slight motion causes her sweater to inch down again. Wally finds himself saying, "Well, actually according to the rules all you would need after that is to send in a picture and two proofs of purchase from a Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs cereal box." The beer is starting to kick in, a little? And he already has another new one he's working on now. And he notices the falling sweater and is about to point it out when he feels shoulder brushing his and he looks back to Bami. "Oh, ah, where was I? I sometimes make guest appearances at fanclub meetings and parties..." Why is he rambling like this? Oohhh, mama... if Kyle was having any success at maintaining his cool, the quotient is dropping fast. He stammers out, almost deliberately trying to focus away from the (lack of) sweater, but then... there are the eyes. He's about gone, folks. "Glad you... ahem... approve..." Bambi's bright green eyes lock on to Wally's cute blue ones as he makes the mistake of looking at her face for a change. "is that the only way? I mean... it seems..." she lifts a hand to rest it on his arm, "a bit.. childish don't you think? We're not little kids here..." she croons, then finishes with a breathy "Wally." Wally swallows. "I can see that, Bambi.... you're both ... big girls now." Dear lord, tongue stop! Just stop! But he continues to slur on, "Maybe you could start an adult club." Wally smiles big and then realizes what he just said. "I mean, well, ah, er, well, you know what I mean right? Not that you'd want to do an adult adult club, or even really a club, but an adult version... no, I don't mean ... you know what i mean, right?" Ooh mama indeed. Ever so slowly, those big, brilliant blue eyes lift from Kyle's hand up to his face, and give him almost an imploring look.. How can you resist a look like that? "Kyle," she breathes, moving in closer, lifting his hand up and playing idly with his fingers. "A wonderful name for a wonderful guy." Ever so subtly, her eyebrows furrow just a little. "But you seem so sad behind those eyes...maybe I can help cheer you up?" Bambi's eyes widen showing off their wonderful deep green even more. She smiles, and scoots even closer, "An.. adult.. club. Well,.. gee yah, I can see how that could be really...." she drops her voice to a purr, "Super..." then a small frown crosses her lips, ".. but.. I've never done anything like that before. You'd have to help me.. you know..." her eyelashes lower some, "Give me pointers and tell me what you'd like to do? So it would be.. special..." Kyle Rayner stammers, "Well, I, uh, I'm generally a happy-go-lucky sort... just had a few bumps in the road is all... but I don't feel so bad right at this moment to be honest..." "Pointers?" Wally tries not to look there as the beer isn't helping his mind any. And so he looks away, gulping and then gulping down the rest of his beer. "Well, ah... see Bambi...." And he *really* tries not to look back but then he notices the sweater and it's falling and so looks away to ... bam! Red. He gulps again. "What I like is... well, that's to say ... well, some things have to go on instinct... your gut feeling, you know." But then he shakes his head at himself. Stop saying these things! Where is Dick when you need hi-.... er, wrong thing to be thinking at the moment, Wally. Wally shakes his head. "Ah, maybe I should go check on my other friend? He might be lost..." Bambi beams, "Instinct? I'm very good with instincts..." suddenly that hand that was on Wally's shoulder isn't anymore. Where oh where could it be? Her face is lit up with a brilliant smile, and once again she slowly wets her lips. Bobbi smiles happily, hugging Kyle's hand (palm out) to her chest. "That's good," she says in a soft, truly tantalizing voice. "That's really good..." She lets his hand drop gently, and reaches a hand up to brush /his/ hair out of his eyes. Again the eyes drop demurely, and she smiles up at Kyle. "I'm sorry...I hope you don't mind. I couldn't see those gorgeous eyes of yours." She giggles quietly. Kyle Rayner shakes his head. "No, no, it's cool, really, I'm okay, don't mind a bit." (God) O o . he thinks, . o O (PLEASE do not do anything to make me look like a total loser right now...) Wally jumps! Hello hand! Wally got the squeeze, is who he got. Hello! There you are again, Bambi. Wally just swallows, hard and looks to Bambi with a small smile. "And a rather firm grasp on what you want out of life, hun?" Wally's blushing now brighter than his costume, and the alcohol isn't helping him think of a way out of this. But he needs out. And bad. "Ah, really, I should go, NOW, and check on something... might be trouble. You know, us heroes, always keeping people out of trouble. Be right back, honest..." And he moves to stand, if he can. Bambi pouts coyly, obviously not happy with this turn of events. But, well, Wally is /The Flash/ and hero stuff does come first. Still.. she bats her eyelashes, "You'll come right back won't you? So we can talk me?" Wally manages to get away from the death grib and smiles. "Sure," he swallows again and gets up and moves away form the table. "Right back," he salutes and then ZIPS off, leaving the two of you to Kyle for the moment. Not that he will likely mind, for the moment. Moving closer...a little faster than she'd like, but wanting to get at least a /little/ souvenir if Kyle turns out to be a superhero in disguise, and has to go too...Bobbi lightly caresses the young man's face, leaning up against his arm. "I'm glad you don't mind...because I wouldn't mind doing it again," she says suggestively, voice low. "Or if you needed me to give you a backrub...I'm studying to be a massage therapist, you know..." Kyle Rayner nods slowly. "Really? Hmm. Massage therapist. Good career choice. Lot of opportunity." He seems to be getting more comfrtable now, propping up his chin on his hand. "And I wouldn't mind another time either." Bambi gives a small sigh as Wally leaves. Hard to tell if its disapointment, or something more.. deep. She turns to see how her friend is doing and finds she's doing rather well, and hides a giggle by stealing a sip of Wally's left behind beer. . o O (Oh gawd! Not the 'Im studying massage line...) Bobbi blinks innocently, pulling back slightly. She smiles, "I'm always looking for people to practice on...think you could help me out?" Kyle Rayner says "Well, uh, at the risk of sounding forward, um, I live over in the Village, not far at all by walking or cab..." Bobbi shoots Bambi a glance, like to say, ohmigod, I did it!, and looks back to Kyle. She gives him a beautiful smile. "Hardly forward, Kyle...are you sure you don't mind helping out a struggling student at this hour?" Bambi gives Bobbi a look of total envy. Then starts to look around and see if she can spot any sign of Wally returning. As she does so, she finishes off his beer, savoring ever sip. Kyle Rayner shakes his head. "Me, nah... I'm something of a night owl anyways. I've logged about a thousand night staying up past 3 AM... 'course I was drawing or something..." Wally zips back to the table, and has to steady himself by placing his hands on it. See, drinking and speedrunning don't do wonders for the stomach. "Hi, guys. Bambi." He smiles to her. Hopefully no hard feelings were made? "Ah, something's come up so I have to dart off and deal with it... Kyle, your a ... well, the bar wanted me to tell you that ... well, ah, your mom called?" He's trying to give his pal a way out if need be. But, he smiles to Bobbi and Bambi and says, "Nice to meet you guys, share some drinks..." Bambi brightens as she see's Wally return, then frowns some at his words. Guess she's going back home alone, or wait. She looks over at her friend and Kyle, then back, "Was great to meet you too, Wally.. Ummm, after you've saved the world.. You'll be pretty hungry right? Would you like to meet for a bite?" "Oh," purrs Bobbi, "that's perfect." She...well, uncurls from the seat. That's the best way to put it. She gets up as soundlessly and swiftly as a cat, and pulls lightly at Kyle's hands. She glances over at Wally, eyebrows raised, then back at Kyle. "You'd better talk to her...and after that, since your friend's going anyway, you could help me practice." She smiles sweetly, then tosses Bambi a wide grin. Kyle Rayner blinks at Wally. "My mom? Why would she...?" The he gets it, the speedster's trying to give him an out. "Well, I can call her from home... actually, I'll have to. She lives in L.A., and I wouldn't want to call long distance from here..." "Oh, that's even better. It'll give me time to...meditate...beforehand," breathes Bobbi, pulling Kyle to his feet, and waiting a second before stepping back. She smiles, looking up and leaning forward slightly, giving Kyle the perfect opportunity to...well, to be blunt, to look down her shirt. "You'd better not keep her waiting." Wally is about to dart off when he nearly trips over himself turning around to answer bambi. He stumbles a little, but tries to right himself and still maintain his looking cool deal. "er, ah, sure." Maybe? "How about you give me your number and ... well, how about ... well, how about this. I'll be looking for you." he winks, then blurs and hands her a Flash ring from the souvenir section. And then he's gone. Kyle Rayner blinks. And blinks again. Then without looking at his fellow Titan or even realizing he's split already, Kyle says "Gotta go, Wally." Then with Bobbi's hand gently in his, he makes his way for the door... Bambi oh wows! her eyes going wide, as she slips teh ring on her finger, "Wow... Thanks!" she yells after him, "I'll be looking forward to it."
