Smiling softly, the Girl of Steel steps into the cave, taking a moment to glance around briefly, "I'm glad to give you this opportunity, Bart. You can see the new headquarters of the JLA that we built on the moon, maybe learn something about what it is we do in the JLA when we're not actually fighting." Heading directly towards the transporter platform, she glances at you occasionally to make sure you're following her. Following isn't quite the right word. That implies trailing behind in a relatively straight line. He /is/ behind Supergirl, but only sometimes. More often, he's all over the cave, checking it out, looking it over, intently examining each minute detail; he pauses at his grandfather's costume, then looks up as Supergirl stops talking. "You're not fighting all the time when you're a team? Wow. The Titans fought a lot. I usually lost and had to do the dishes." He peers ahead of the Girl of Steel, then blinks! "We can go /now/?" Justice League Cave Once the original headquarters of the Justice League of America, this mountain cavern now serves as the team's Earthbound point-of-contact to their Watchtower Moonbase. The cave also functions as an archives and trophy hall, showcasing in detail many of the team's adventures and exploits - both good and bad. Their entire career is followed here, from their inception to current day headlines. Beginning with a showcase that contains an Apellaxian meteorite (split in two) and a newspaper clipping from the founding five member's first meeting, the glass cases follow a more or less chronological pattern, following the progress of the League throughout the years. Physical mementos punctuate the development of the group, offering tangible memories to their adventures, and in some cases, somber reminders of fallen comrades. Standing within individual display cases are the uniforms of former League members Flash, Vibes, Steel and Ice, each with a plaque honoring them. Towards the rear of the cavern, a small communications center has been established, overlooking the original meeting table of the first Justice League. The monitors here are generally only used for communication with the Watchtower base, but can also be linked into global news channels should the need arise. To the side of this meeting area a transporter room has been set up, containing a number of transportation pads that allow quick transit to the Watchtower itself. Nodding her hear with a soft smile at your enthusiasm, Supergirl replies, "Yes, Bart, that's where I'm heading now. To activate the teleportation platform. Be careful not to touch any of the delicate instruments up there, though. We don't want to damage anything." Motioning her hand towards the platform, she pauses to let you on first, though she knows she probably doesn't have to even pause. "Hokay!" yells Bart, barrelling through as soon as Supergirl finishes talking. A prickly feeling washes over you as you move onto the transporter pad. Sparkling lights cloud your vision, before you are able to see again and realize that you are in a completely different place than where you just were moments ago. Watchtower: Hangar Bay This is truly a voluminous chamber, a number of stories in height, and spanning the length and width of a football field. More than just a hangar bay, this facility also serves as the main airlock that connects to the surface of the moon (and the void of space beyond), and also contributes its roomy spaces to the occasional workouts and sparring matches between Justice League members. As the League uses very few vehicles, most of the room is easily open for such use. Also set aside in the chamber is a room that houses the Watchtower's main transporter bay, which connects to the League's transporter bay located on the Earth below. Situated near the hallway that leads into the rest of the complex, the transporter bay comprises a medium-sized room with a number of transporter pads that allow for easy and instant transport between the Watchtower and Earth. Supergirl steps out a few moments later, taking a second to try and find your location as she moves towards the exit to the hallway, "This is our transportation room, it houses the shuttles, vehicles, and of course the transporter we just used. That large door at the end is the airlock that leads to outspace." She comments, her voice echoing through the cavernous chamber. Location? The kid's all over the place, as usual. Boing-rocket-zip-zoom, never touching anything but coming seemingly perilously close. Bart actually skids to a halt momentarily, looking around rather puzzled. "Hey?" he asks, rubbing the back of his neck. "Where's the rest of it?" Supergirl giggles softly and motions her hand towards the direction she's walking, "This way, Bart." She replies, making a beeline for the hallway doors. She doesn't seem bothered at all by your intense (and potentially dangerous) curiousity as some people might. Impulse ohs softly, and follows relatively complacently. For now. He doesn't know the /way/ to the interesting part, after all. Isn't there a city under here somewhere? Or something like that? Or maybe a big blue rock monster? Rumors run rampant in high school. "We gonna meet anyone?" he asks as they go through the doors. Watchtower: Main Hallway This hallway spans the majority of the length of the Watchtower - from the hangar and transporter bays, to the central meeting room and communications center, and everywhere in between. It runs a straight course, so both ends are easily visible at any point, but it approaches two hundred feet in length. Numerous side passageways and rooms branch off from the roomy passage, some marked clearly, most of them not. The ceiling is comprised of a high-grade transparent metal that forms a continuous window which stretches in an arc along with the hallway. Those who take the time and effort to look are rewarded with an unparellelled view of the Earth hanging in space above. Supergirl shrugs her shoulders slightly as she keeps a steady pace down the hall towards the Meeting Room, "There's always someone keeping watch of the monitors. You can meet whoever is onduty if you'd like. But don't distract them too much, they need to make sure the world is safe, incase the JLA is needed against a large threat." Her cape drifts and gently brushes back behind her with the wind from some imaginary breeze. Watchtower: Meeting Room The formula is the same as it is for any other meeting room on the planet Earth - even though this site is far above that mottled blue sphere. Still, the dominating facet of the room is the massive round table that sits in the center, with the shield of the Justice League of America proudly emblazoned across the glossy surface. Swivel-mounted chairs surround the meeting space, each decorated with the personal symbol of a individual Justice League member. Some are easily recognized, others more obscure - but each shares equal space and importance. The walls of the large room are mostly bare, grey sheet metal surfaces, save for the one directly opposite the entrance. Comprised of computer screens, monitors and communications equipment that span from floor to ceiling, it provides a network of information gathering tools to rival most anything else of Earthly origins. A central video screen that's nearly three times the size of any of the others is clearly the main viewing area, though the numerous other screens and consoles give an easy scan of the major news headlines across the globe. "Okay," says Bart's voice, startlingly loud in the silence, starting in the middle of the word as the door slides open. "I won't. Really. I mean, really, I'll be good. And if a giant squid starts eating the planet while I'm talking, I'll let the monitor person know. I'll keep my eyes peeled. I -- yie! Hi, Mr. J'Onzz." Seated at the vast communications array, the Manhunter from Mars is currently involved in some sort of talk with a foreign dignitary, obvious in both the man's dress and accent as his roundish face speaks from the screen. "But I don't see vhy-" J'Onn cuts off the man before he can continue, though, with a deep and patient voice. "I'm sorry counselor, but I'm afraid that the Justice League does not normally respond to calls concerning missing pets, even if they do belong to the Prime Minister." He casts an aside glance to the entrance as Bart and Mae enter, but doesn't speak directly to them just yet. Impulse blinks, and hushes himself. More like claps a hand over his mouth, but still. Eyes wide, he glances at Mae. Listening intently to Bart, the Girl of Steel steps through the door at a moderate pace, seeming very relaxed for someone who's just spent a decent amount of time with the infamous Impulse. In fact, she seems to be enjoying herself. She can't help but giggle softly a moment, before looking down at Bart. She immediately straightens her expression as she sees his gesture and moves her pointer finger over her mouth, as if to say 'Shhh!', though she utters not a word. "Zat is preposterous!" echoes the voice of the frustrated man on the viewscreen, huffing his face up. J'Onn's rather unfazed by the theatrics, however, merely responding to the exlamation with the same patience as before. "I suggest that you try to contact your own law enforcement agencies on the matter, Counselor. They'll most likely be able to assist you in a much timelier fashion than the Justice League can. I apologize, but we're simply not able to devote our efforts to such a case that can be easily dealt with by your own officers." Even as the green alien is speaking these last words however, the dignitary on the screen tosses his hands up in a huff, and ends the transmission. As soon as the transmission's ended, Impulse steps forward with an indignant look on his face. "Do they seriously /call/ you with that stuff? That's so retarded! Even /I/ don't...I mean...well, I /don't/." He wrinkles his nose. Rotating his chair to fully face both Impulse and Supergirl, the Manhunter from Mars inclines his head slightly in response to Bart's question, his deep voice rumbling over the empty meeting hall as he speaks. "From time to time, they do. Many people beleive their own personal problems to supercede all others, regardless of the actual importance." He pauses a beat then, before continuing. "Is there anything you needed help with?" A rather incongruous statement, after the aliens miniature diatribe, though he phrases the words well enough so that they do sound genuine. Supergirl nods her head in response, resting her hands on her hips, "Some people like to believe that we exist solely for their convenience, instead of to protect the world from large threats. This is just one example. But it's one of the dangers of being as highly recognized as we are." She pauses a moment to glance at J'Onn before turning her gaze back to Bart. Following the slighjt familiar hum of the tranporter machinery, footsteps are then heard leading to the meeting room. The owner of said footfalls is soon revealed to be the Emerald Guardian himself, back here in the JLA stronghold after many months of merely popping in and out between monitor duty shifts. He waves to the assembled, saying simply, "Hey, guys." "Huh. So if lots of people knew who I was," says Bart slowly, tapping his chin and resting his elbow on his arm across his stomach, "I'd get asked to find cats?" He raises his eyebrows, then turns to see the new arrival. "Hey, Lantern! Whatup?" "Perhaps," J'Onn answers Bart, before nodding towards Kyle as the Green Lantern enters the room. The Manhunter then rises from his chair, his blue cloak sweeping along the floor as he takes a few steps away from it. "Good evening, Lantern. Ready for your shift?" Green Lantern nods to J'onn, replying "Sure, not a problem." To the speedster, he smiles and offers "Same old, same old, Impulse." Turning her head towards the Green Lantern as he enters, Supergirl smiles and nods her head slightly, "Hello." She replies in greeting before giggling softly at Bart's response. "They might. It's always better to keep your secret identity secret. That's why they call it that. Otherwise everyone will constantly try to ask you questions." "'M sure same old same old for /you/ isn't the same same old same old as mine," notes Impulse, leaning on the back of a chair. Then he runa a hand through his hair and grins at Supergirl. "That's kinda hard when you go to school in Keystone City and live with the Flash, who /everyone/ knows is Wally West. My friend Preston thinks he's got it covered, somehow, but I dunno. And no one really wants to know anything about me anyway, which is cool." He sounds pretty darn content. "Good," the Martian replies to Kyle. "Things have been fairly quiet so far this evening." Striding smoothly across the meeting room, J'Onn only pauses a moment as he passes the trio of other super-heroes, turning his attention to Supergirl and Bart. "I'll be in my quarters should you need me for anything," he informs them, as if expecting trouble to brew for some reason. Green Lantern nods in agreement to Impulse then grabs himself a seat at the nearest monitor terminal. He hits a key on the console that begins the multiple screens to life before him. Impulse blinks. "Umm. Okay." He waves slightly. "Bye, Manhunter." Supergirl smiles softly, understanding Martian Manhunter's concern as she responds, "Thank you, we will. Though I'm sure nothing will happen that we'll need to disturb you for." Impulse grins. Quite widely. "Yeah, what could possibly go wrong?" He turns the grin into a beatific smile, and quite calmly continues to lean against the chair back. Maybe something's wrong with him. Green Lantern grins and turns his head slightly towards Supergirl. "Hey, don't jinx it." As he casts his head back towards the screens, he continues, "The last time I was on monitor duty, Darkseid showed up." Impulse snrks. "Are you /serious/?" he asks incredulously, then starts giggling. "You've gotta be kidding me." He hefts himself straight, then pads over to Kyle and the monitor. Up and down he looks, pausing at each small screen, not looking at the big one (because he's too close). "Tell me what each one shows?" Green Lantern says "Well, basically, they eyeball every potential trouble spot on the globe as well as monitor all global newscasts. Kinda necessary when you take up the jobof being the worl'd protectors, y'know?" "I guess," replies Bart doubtfully, looking with intenst skepticism at the array of monitors. "But wouldn't you just as easily have each one show a different channel? Oh, but I guess you can't get cable way up here. But geez, this is a satellite. Bet you can get even /better/ stations." He frowns, and briefly - almost agitatedly - runs a hand across the smooth surface of the monitor wall, then ducks down to peer underneath. He straightens, and rubs his nose. "Does anything /interesting/ ever happen up here?"asks the kid plaintively. Green Lantern chucjles a bit. "Nine times outta ten, nope. And the tenth time, you usually wish it didn't." Supergirl nods in agreement as she approaches the monitors, pointing to a smaller one, "This one is a broadcast of a 24 hour Japanese News Channel." She pauses at the question and gives the answer thought before replying, "As Green Lantern says, not usually. But when something does happen it's usually very dangerous. The JLA is an emergency team, we're only called into action when there's no possibility for a normal solution by the world governments. Especially superhuman, alien, or paranormal threats." "Blah. No wonder Dinah didn't wanna be in the JLA. Bo-oring. And then wacked-out weird bad guys." Impulse makes a face, then leans against the table. "Aren't there easier ways of emergency notification? I mean, aren't there like news teams and people who make /money/ at doing what Lantern's doing right now? And couldn't they, like, buzz your communicator thingies when there's a major problem?" Green Lantern says "Well, Impulse, way I figure it is, it's better that we ourselves have a hand in knowing what's going down around the world. That way we've got hands-on know-how about the worl'ds affairs, plus it adds to our own contributions to the team." "Oh." Impulse is silent for a moment. Then he looks at Supergirl. "Are there any games up here?" Supergirl giggles softly and ponders a moment, "Well, actually there are Bart. But don't tell J'Onn." She says, lowering her tone a bit to make it seem secretive to Bart, "Wouldn't want him to think we were fooling around and not doing our work." She adds, giving Bart a wink.
