Lois Lane's Apartment(#655RJgn) This large, airy brownstone apartment has Lois Lane's personality stamped all over it. A sand-toned rug covers a portion of the apartment's hardwood floors in the living room, upon which sits the furniture. A deep green sofa with two matching chairs, stuffed so as to be very comfortable for anyone, creates a sitting area around an oak coffee table and end tables. Brass-toned lamps with cream-colored shades sit on the end tables to light the room. An entertainment center takes up one whole wall with some very nice, state-of-the-art stereo and TV equipment in it, along with dual VCRs. An old-fashioned arched doorway leads into the dining alcove, which has a rug of the same color and the oak table is settled with four uphosltered chairs with a paint-splash design. Bookcases line some of the spare wallspace, while pictures of friends and framed articles of Lois's grace the rest. French doors open out onto a wide patio/balcony, with a nice view of the city lights. A laptop sits on the dining room table, perpetually plugged in. The kitchen looks a bit less well-lived-in than the rest of the apartment. Lois appears to make use of her freezer, fridge and microwave, though the stove seems to not get touched very often. Though clean, the entire apartment is cluttered with various stacks of papers, Lois's briefcase is usually on the dining room table, and there are sometimes clothes scattered through the living room. She's not claiming to be a housekeeper, though nothing is actually dirty. A door down a short hallway leads to the bedroom and bathroom. Obvious exits: Balcony Out It's been a rather long day, and it's not over yet. Lois drops her laptop onto the couch as she comes into the apartment, along with two files chock full of as much information as she can pull together these Horsemen and what they've done so far. She murmurs under her breath, "All right, Clark.... where are you when I need a hint here? I know you're seeing more of this than I am. Not fair, I'm thinking." She walks through to the kitchen and pulls a soda out of her refrigerator. A wisp of cool air drifts through the apartment as the balcony door is opened and a red-caped figure steps inside. But alas, no, it is not Superman this time, but someone of a much more... omnious nature. "Lois?" calls out the voice of Kon-El from the living room as he heads toward the kitchen, a quick glance with his X-Ray vision showing him that she is the only person here. No Superman. Just Lois. With a small grin, Kon-El, no... War stalks toward the door, and his prey. War Before you is a young man, tall at about five and a half feet, maybe an inch taller and in excellent shape. His legs and upper body are very well defined muscularly making it apparent that he works out a lot. His face screams youthfulness as his jaw looks like it has never had the need to be shaved. His dark black hair is left rather long on top and falls over in waves, which look to be placed there naturally with no effort needed on his part to keep it there, and of course there is the spit curl. Along the sides it is shaved shorter until it eventually is shaved completely off. A pair of goggles covers his eyes right now, making it nearly impossible to tell what or who he is looking at and is his left ear is a small, gold, hoop earring. Looking down away from his face one of the first things one would note is the golden shoulder pads, reminiscent of a golden eagle, complete with a winged pattern. At the center of this is a black 'W', the colour a sharp contrast to the golden backing. The rest of his body is covered in black spandex, hugging his body, the only splotches of color being the red bands at mid-forearm and calf, and a red sash around his waist. Upon his back, billowing slightly as if by it's own power, is a blood-red cape protruding from his armored shoulders and reaching almost to the ground. At his hip hangs a jeweled scabbard holding a long sword with a golden, stylized hilt, the pommel of which is shaped in the form of a dragon's head. Lois feels the gentle breeze and turns toward the window with a welcoming smile. A smile that rapidly turns frightened. "Kon....??" She's gotten enough of a glimpse of the footage thus far to know that you're part of the trouble brewing. And Clark did tell her to watch out for you, that he wasn't sure *what* was going on yet. . o ((Oh sh*t!)) She swallows hard and sidles around the kitchen table. "Hi... long time, no see, handsome." "Hello, Lois." The Kid's eyes are blocked behind goggles, but it is apparent he's staring right at you. "Have you seen Kal? I have some... unfinished business with him." As he speaks, he approaches until he is but a few feet from you, even you run. His face does not look like the Kon-El you know. It is too hard. Too devoid of emotion. Whatever has happened to the boy, it has changed him a lot. Lois swallows. "What kind of business do you have with Kal?" She's not running, per se... though you can tell that she's not comfortable at all. She just is trying to keep a little distance between you. "Kon.... please tell me what's happening?" A slow smile spreads across Kon's face as he stops his approach just within arm's reach. "Why. I wish to kill him, of course." Tilting his head to the side, the kid who was the Kid reaches out to attempt to touch your cheek. "Are you afraid of me, Lois?" he asks in a soft voice, almost sounding like Superboy and not the cold War. Lois's face pales a little, but she gives you an honest answer. "I'm not afraid of Kon-El, no. He could kill me in the blink of an eye, but he'd never do so. You... I'm not so sure. I'd like to understand what's happened, though. You know that writing about things as they happens is what keeps me going. Will you tell me?" She knows she can't dodge the touch, so she doesn't. The only indication of her fear is the faint pallor of her skin and the fact that her heart rate has sped up with adrenaline. War chuckles softly and looks to you, shaking his head slightly. "You wish me to feed you information on what I am doing, Lois? My my.. Such trecherousness. I knew I had picked you for good reason." That finger on your cheek moves to your chin and suddenly, his TK field is surrounding you, making you weightless as he lifts you off your feet with his finger, unless you pull away. "Such a devious mind should not be used for the so called forces of good..." Lois gasps softly. "Kon, please put me down?" She tries to keep her voice calm, but it's shaking just a little. Lois isn't generally afraid of much... but it's pretty clear you came here with an agenda. She drops her soda can, and kicks out at the field, her hands coming tight to her chest. "I mean it!" **Outsiders Comlink activated** At the sound of his other name, War begins to grow angry. "You, mortal, presume to order the Avatar of War? Trecherous, but not bright, I see." Trailing that finger along under your chin, he maintains only the smallest of contact, just so the field isn't broken. When he reaches your neck, his hand opens into a choke hold. "Kon-El is dead. Only War remains. And with your help, Lois Lane, Kal-El will surely join Kon." He doesn't begin to squeeze your throat just yet, just holds you in the air. Surprisingly it doesn't hurt as he's putting now strain on your neck, allowing his field to do all the work. Almost.. gently... Lois's chin jerks upright with the hold and her eyes grow dark. Fear or anger, it's hard to tell. Her teeth gritted, she growls, "Why are you doing this? I have done nothing treacherous to you. And you can't beat Kal. You know that." "I already have, Lois Lane. I am doing so as we speak. I will turn you against him and then he will be mine. Just as he was in Ottawa before I stepped away from him. He feinted death then to arise again. It will not happen a second time." As War speaks, outside something lands upon the balcony. Something with four hooves. It is the Horseman's horse, which will soon belong to you. Lois hisses softly to you, "You will never turn me against him, Kon-El. Whatever you do to me, I will fight you with everything that I am. And so will he. I will not allow you to use me as a victim in your crazy games." War chuckles softly and shakes his head. "Lois... You will ride beside me.. You will be my general.. My bride.." Slowly his hand begins to tighten around your throat as the horse steps through the open door, its hooves ripping up the carpet as it prances toward War and his captive. "Behold your destiny, Lois Lane! Behold what you will become! War has commanded it, and so it shall be done! You will be his bride, the general of his undead army. You will be mine." Lois rolls her eyes. "Oh, great... just what I always wanted," she grits. "To be some teenager's wet dream. Get a grip, Kon! You can fight this!" She struggles in your grip, trying to kick out through the bubble. "KON-EL IS DEAD!" roars the Avatar of War as his arm shoots up, you at the other end. His field is nigh unbreakable by mortal means even as Superboy, and now even Superman could not break free. As his hand continues to close to choke the air from your lungs, he drives his hand back toward the wall, intent on driving your helpless body into it. "I do not wish to fight anything, Lois Lane. I am not the weakling that you knew to be Kon-El. I am not some punk kid who enjoys peeking through women's windows or stealing their underwear. I am not some child who was thought and then proved to be a fraud to the world. Some half-assed creation that was never completed." Pulling you from the wall, he slams you against it again. "No more, Lois Lane. I am what I was destined to be. I am the embodiment of War. Now and forever!" Lois flinches in reaction as she slams into the wall, even though only the field bashes stuff. Lois's neighbors aren't going to like that. "You're no fraud, regardless of what anyone has said. Nor are you a half-assed creation. You never have been. You're a kind, wonderful boy. And you've grown a lot in the last months." Lois's voice is hoarse and almost unrecognizable by the end of her words, and she's struggling to try and pull your hand from her throat. There's no hand there, really, though. And as she struggles to draw in more air, failing because of the way you're holding her, the world draws down to the tunnel vision that comes just before passing out. "And I have grown beyond what you and Kal-El could have imagined," War snarls. As he watches you slowly lose consciousness, that smile reappears before with a violent twist, the Kid's hand tries to snap your neck so that he can bring you back as his undead bride. "And now, Lois Lane... You. Are. Mine." Lois can't fight the move you make. Her neck snaps as easily as a twig beneath the violent twist. Her last, choked gasp is a soft word full of regret. "Clark..." And then just like that, she's gone. War watches as Lois' form goes limp and he releases her to fall to the ground. Stepping back, it takes but a simple motion for him to bring the woman back to life as one of his undead minions. "Rise my bride. Take your rightful position as the right hand of War and together we will bring this world to its knees." Lois's blue eyes fly open, and she looks up at you. Rising slowly, her tilted at a slight angle, she stands before you and looks vaguely confused. But her smile is easy. Given that you're the one who raised her, she's now loyal only to you. "The world on its knees won't be an easy task, my love... I will enjoy watching it happen around us." What she's thinking behind those words is another question. "The how, my dear, will be decided in due course. Come," War states, offering his hand, "we should away before your friends arrive to check up on you." Which friends is anyone's guess. Perhaps he means simply Superman, or perhaps the Outsiders. Either way, War leads you to his horse which will be your mount for as long as you are with him. Lois slips her hand into yours, and smiles. "Wouldn't you think my friends would have kept a better eye on me if they were worried?" She waits for you to help her onto the horse's back. "Apparently, they weren't worried enough." She calmly reaches up and touches her hand to her brooch briefly, as if thinking about the gift-giver. **Comlink deactivated but remains on her person** With a low, rumbling chuckle, War slips his arms around the waist of is newest acquisition and hoists her up atop her steed. "Come, Lois. We have much we must do." With only a bit of his TK, the Kid joins her atop the horse, spreading his field around both it and the woman, making them invulnerable just as he is. Without a word, the horse begins to plod toward the window, tearing the carpetting up once more. Lois leans her head back against your shoulder and laughs. "Tell me what's to be done, and I'll be there. Any time, any place." "In good time, precious. First we must gather an army..." As the horse reaches the balcony, it leaps off and takes to the air, turning before it gets too far from the building. Looking back, War's heat vision lashes out at the supports for the building itself and they explode outward before the entire building collapses in on itself. "Let that be a calling card for any who would wish to know what has happened this day." [OOC] Lois acks! You better post that one. I wasn't the only apartment in that place. [OOC] War says, "Oops. ;)" [OOC] War says, "Who else lived there?" [OOC] Lois says, "It was an apartment building. Maybe 4 floors, 4 apartments to a floor or something? I don't know." [OOC] War says, "Oh. But no other PCs?" [OOC] Lois says, "No :)" [OOC] War says, "Okay. :)" Lois watches the building crumble and doesn't say anything. Maybe she doesn't feel anything over the destruction. Maybe she just doesn't have a way to vent it without breaching her loyalties to you. She has two things she'll be loyal to here... you, and the story. And those are her priorities. All the rest... she's kind of indifferent to. War smiles as the horse turns away, pointing toward Washington. It will be a long trip. "Time to gather our troops, precious." Stroking your cheek with a finger, he adds with a chuckle. "Perhaps you can write the story about your own death. I bet White will roll over in his soon-to-be grave when that hit his desk." Lois's smile spreads. "Oh! I love that idea. I'll work on it immediately." She looks with regret back toward the apartment, though she can't turn her head far - you did BREAK the supporting bone, after all, and if she's not careful, the cord itself could be severed as well. "Although you buried my laptop. That's annoying."
