Opal City Observatory Welcome to Opal City's longest standing functonal observatory and Starman museum. Once inside, the first things that strike you about the structure are the smooth, octagonal, marble walls, which stretch widely around the mechanical structures in the center. The floor too, is marble, and somewhat shiny, making echoing footsteps a reality as whenever one walks inside. Most of the room is empty, except for the aforementioned machinery, and some computers in the distance in one corner. A couple of doorways lead to other wings of the observatory, including teh world famous Starman Museum, where one can find authentic items owned or used by the many men who've held the mantle of the cosmic crusader. In the center of the room, an expansive chrome Telescope, with a long and winding movable stepladder leading up to it. The sky is visible overhead through the open observatory roof, a clear yet chilly night which makes the stars all the more visible. [Note] +View in use. Contents: Donna Troy(#248PXJfnc) Jack Knight Obvious exits: Out The young man before you is 20-something, with dark wavy hair, a little mussed by the wide, thick black goggles he is currently wearing on top of his head. His eyes are dark, and they are framed by the early appearance of laugh-lines, giving the impression of a somewhat wry personality. His sideburns are a little longer, and seem carefully manicured, the guy obviously cares about his personal appearance. His day or two growth of goatee stubble also give the impression that he's a busy individual and might be prone for long nights out enjoying himself. He is very handsome, and must be popular with the ladies. Both ears are pierced, with silver hoops, as is one eyebrow. He is currently wearing a well-pressed and dapper black suit jacket and pants, a white button down collar, and tie. The pattern on the tie is familiar, not too busy. It seems to have sploteches of golden on a lighter blue background. Ah. It's a reproduction of Van Gogh's "Starry Starry Night." All in all, Jack looks pretty respectable in his current outfit, inspired, no doubt, by his need to appear so in court. But the seeds of Jack's actual life still shine through, as on his feet, his Doctor Marten's are still present. Carrying: Cosmic Rod The woman before you appears to be in her mid-twenties with a slender figure that is well toned from regular exercise and keeping in shape. She has long, ebony hair that flows over her shoulders in obsidian waves and frames an attractive oval countenance in silken strands. Her features are classical Grecian in appearance with high cheekbones that seem to proclaim a Mediterranean heritage. Her eyes are a shade of sapphire that make a striking contrast to her dark hair and fair complexion. She is dressed comfortably in a cream colored, knit sweater that falls to about mid-thigh and has a turtleneck collar. She has on a pair of slim cut blue jeans that are in complimentary contrast to the loose fit of the sweater. A gold necklace hangs from around her neck with a heart-shaped locket. On her left wrist is a slender watch that is mostly covered by her long sleeves. A pair of brown leather hiking boots fit with the season and offer that extra traction when uncertain weather strikes. Sandy Hawkins(#621Pwnc) Reasonably tall, but nonthreatening at first and second glances, this young blond man with touseled curls has an easygoing demeanor about him. His - Sand's - eyes are a bright cornflower blue, guarded yet friendly; his nose is straight and his clean-shaven jaw a bit pointed. The man's build is that of an adventurer, with powerful shoulders tapering down to a fit waist and stomach; for those that look more than twice, you can see that for all his apparent relaxation, he's extremely alert and aware of his surroundings. Sanderson's wearing a plain, standard navy blue heavy cotton suit and a black tie. The suit jacket is unbuttoned, exposing a spotless button-down shirt and loose black tie; his oxford collar is ironed straight, but also loose - it looks like the top button isn't even there. If he turns suddenly, you can see a leather gun harness under his jacket. On his feet are worn black dress shoes. Oh yeah - there's a cast on his right hand, going up a bit past his wrist. [OOC] Jack Knight says, "But, oh, so right." [Public] Donna Troy says, "Say it loud!" There's a freaking loud, sudden backfire from outside somewhere. It's fairly safe to assume that unless some kids are setting off cherry bombs, then Sanderson's here. Silence from outside for a few moments, then a creeeeak, then some muffled cursing, then a really loud slam. The hood, likely. Then badass-boots-type stomping up many steps. Right after these are finished, there's a knock at the most easily-accessible-from-the-outside door. [Public] Sandy Hawkins says, "Say it once, and say it loud: I'm black and I'm proud!" % Resuming TinyFugue. Jack Knight answers the door, not really surprised at who it might be, having called Sand yesterday to arrange this meeting. "I can't believe that clunker of yours made it from New York to Opal. You must have made some sort of deal with Doc Fate." Opening the door for his friend to enter, Jack leans against the doorframe. "You're sounding chipper this morning." Waving a hand inside, Jack smiles and makes a motion toward the lady nearby. "You remember Donna, right?" [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "Jerk. :)" [OOC] Jack Knight says, "Love you. :)" Donna Troy looks up from her place near the base of the ladder that leads up to the telescope. And there dressed casually, and this time not abruptly awakened at some visitor, is the woman known as Darkstar. She smiles and lifts a hand to Sandy as he walks in. Jack told her he would probably be stopping by, she'd offered to leave, but.... "Good to see you again, Sandy." % Activity in world Billnet Sandy Hawkins just gives Jack a -look-. You know the sort - 'It's a damned good thing there's a lady present, you Velvet-Elvis-owner'. He clears his throat, stepping in the rest of the way, and executes a sort of half-bow. "You as well, Donna." He gives his friend another cursory glance, noting with a certain amount of irritation, "I'm not quite senile yet. You'll have to give me a few more weeks. And, Fate won't touch my car with a ten-foot pole." ---- World Billnet ---- *** Signoff: Narnian2 (EOF from client) at Tue Jan 18 1:35 AM PST. ---- World ZH ---- % Activity in world Billnet "Smart man." He gives Sand a nudge with his elbow, all grins. "Come on, you ol' coot. Lighten up. Things aren't all /that/ dour, are they?" Closing the door to the observatory, Jack seems to be having a bit of a struggle. He pushes, but the frame of the door seems to be bent a little. "I'll have to fix that. The building's not really as secure since the Queen dropped by for a visit. Grunting slightly, he's eventually able to ge tthe door into place. Turning, Jack's cheeks blush slightly as he recalls the circumstances of the Original Wonder Woman's visit to the observatory. Trying to be Mr. Cool in front of his pal, Jack just plays it off, walking the few steps over to Donna and putting his arm around her. Donna Troy watches the looks exchanged between the two men before her but merely smirks a bit in some veiled amusement. Though at the mention of Hippolyta, she grins a bit and has to choke back a bit of a laugh as she remembers the Starman's compromising position. Though as he walks over to her, she smiles and seems to settle against him comfortably. She looks up at him and her blue eyes seem to sparkle a bit and she smiles over toward Sandy. "Did you want any coffee or anything...?" No, its not her place. But she'd requested a cup herself just a little bit ago. [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "Hate to do this to you - but I'll be on tomorrow night." [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "It's 5 AM and my dad's clock will go off momentarily." [OOC] Jack says, "That's cool. :) I'll see you tomorrow."
