Green Arrow prowls along the street Robin's footsteps fall with the weight of a feather as his slender form hugs the wall of a nearby building. His head cranes past the nearest corner of a building, as if to catch a peek of what lays along the alley. ...while on the roof above the building next to Robin's, about three stories up, the Golden Boy sits with his legs swinging off the edge, busily making an apple serve its final duty to mankind. He idly watches the street below. Robin draws a gloved hand absently through his dark waves as he step from the edge of the building. His shoulders sag a ways as a soft sigh emits past his lips. Green Arrow fingers his bow, darting amongst the streetlights, watching warily for any sign of trouble.. Sandy spots movement in the alley below (and to the side of) him. He raises his eyebrows and looks down. . o O (Oho. It's the Kid!) He grins, and drops an appleseed to the ground, aiming directly behind the Boy Wonder. Robin's hand then lightly falls from his head, only to slip behind as it joins his other hand in a light clasp. Perhaps in response to Sandy's action, Robin's head cocks slightly, his gaze glancing toward the general direction of the fallen fruit offcast. Green Arrow 's ears perk, hearing something drop to the ground..he looks upward Just in case Ollie sees him, Sandy grins and puts a finger to his lips. Then he drops another seed in *front* of Robin, where he's not looking. Green Arrow puzzles..fruit just doesn't drop from the sky..not *normally*, anyhow..he moves up to get a better look.. Robin's head tossles in a soft shake as he continues forward in a few ginger steps, only to blink as the tiny object drops before him. The Boy Wonder then lightly kneels down to the ground, only to spirit up what is assumed to be the offending seed. His nose then squinches in confusion as he scrutinizes the tiny object. Sandy stifles a laugh. Oh, he tries so hard - it's a truly valiant effort. He takes another bite of apple, and watches. Maybe the kid'll look up. Green Arrow looks around a corner, and sees a shadowy figure..not sure who it is, he approaches cautiously Robin's brows pensively furrow as his head lolls back. Cast a silvery gray in the moonlight, his wide eyes glance above. Ol' Robbo can see feet, and above that, a grinning, masked face. The boy up there waves. Green Arrow sees Robin's head as he leans back, relieved that it's not a criminal A disastisfied 'hrmph' sounds from the less-formidable of the dynamic duo as he ineffectively hurls the seed on up toward Sandy, the seed missing its mark by... oh, but fifteen to twenty feet, or so. Sandy falls backwards, laughing. A couple seconds later, his head pops into view over the edge. "Your aim is somewhat less than desirable," he calls, still laughing. Then he stops, and calls seriously, "Actually, you throw like a girl." Robin's arms defiantly cross over his chest as he touts in response "Is that so?" Sandy calls back, "Absolutely." His head disappears, you hear a loud scuffling and a snicker, and then the older boy climbs nimbly down the fire escape. Robin's hand casually strays to his belt, only to cast an absent wave on toward the direction beneath the fire escape. Stopping on the last rung, Sandy raises his eyebrows. "I take it you think the Golden Boy's a couple watts short of a bulb?" Robin brandishes a boyish grin on up to Sandy, feigning innocence "You have to keep those appleseeds somewhere, don't you?" Robin then gingerly backsteps, as if to give a safe landing spot. Sandy smiles slightly. "If you wanna think that, go right ahead." He swings on the bottom rung slightly, then lets go, and lands dead in the middle of Robin's spot. Robin's hands close together in a polite, golf clap "Oh marvelous... I would give that landing a 9.5." A smug smile then starts across his lips. Sandy takes a flourishing bow. "Thank you, thank you." He straightens. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're Robin, right? Batman's sidekick?" The less-imposing of the dynamic duo stands a stride away from Sandy, completing what seems to be applause. His hands then part, only to plant themselves upon his hips in 'superhero' fashion "That's right. Well, we're more of a team, actually." His head then tilts a ways as he regards Sandy with an air of curiousity "And you are...?" "Sandy," the kid says simply. "The Sandman's partner. Fighting evil with gas and wires, and all that." Clark Kent has arrived. Green Arrow notices Robin the Boy Wonder, relieved it's not a criminal..and another dark suited figure Clark Kent says "What the, three all stars!" Sandy is actually an extrordinarily bright-suited guy. Clark Kent says "oh, hello clark kent, reporter for the daily star." Sandy sighs. "Look here, Mr. Kent, sir, I've had my share of reporters. Hasn't Mr. Dave Clark maligned me enough?" Robin's lips tilt in a coy smile, only to part as he casts curious eyes toward the new voice. He nearly stands on his tippie-toes as he catches sight of Clark, as well as the green-clad bowman behind him. Clark Kent says "My sources told me there might be somthing happining in this alley tonight, I was just looking for some news, guess I found some." Robin hehs softly as he regards the reporter, his footsteps near dancing as he strides forward. His head then tilts back as he ascends his eyes to meet Clark's "Well... not particularly, Mr. Kent. Not now, anyways. We're just keeping the streets safe." Clark Kent says "gee I'm sorry for your unpleasent experince mister sandy sir, some of my fellow news hounds need to learn thir manners/" Sandy bristles. "Your sources, huh? Do they watch everyone? Leave the spying to the government, mister, and let them watch that Ratzi scum overseas. Not me." He reaches for his wirepoon, then aims it over and above, behind him. Then Sandy narrows his eyes, pausing. "Yeah. Mr. Sandy Sir, huh? Did he put my picture in that darned rag of his, too?" Robin puts a finger to his lips as he turns toward Sandy's direction "Hush now... the man heard something might happen here. Might help to hear him out?" Clark Kent says "uh I wouldent know...thats not my paper," Sandy scowls at Robin. "I doubt it." Then he glares at Clark. "Then how did you know who I was?" Clark Kent says "Weell the daily star trys to keep up with all our heroic mystery men..sir" Robin absently retorts as he returns his eyes to the tall figure before him "Yeah, he's probably seen pictures." The Boy Wonder's lips then purse pensively as he once again regards Clark. He then offers "So, mister. What is it you heard?" Clark Kent says "and no one else that I know of dress's quite so ...colorforly." Clark Kent says "nothing specific, mister boywonder..si" Clark Kent says "just rumours of odd happinings for the past few nights." Robin's lips purse together in an effort to stifle a laugh. He then lightly turns on one foot, so as to face Sandy. From beneath his mask, Robin's face has now flushed an amusing shade of crimson. As he summons a deep breath, a light voice then trails past his lips as he questions "Oh? Like...?" Sandy crosses his arms, still scowling. "Yeah? I'm not buyin' it, sorry." He raises an eyebrow at Robin. "I don't know about you, but I try not to get my picture taken, thanks. And it's too, too much of a coincidence for *us* to be in the same alley this bozo says he heard somethin' was gonna happen in." He reaches around with his wirepoon again, and fires it up at the opposite corner of the building. Before he reels it in and disappears over the top, he notes darkly, "I've got crime to fight." Clark Kent says "Strange sounds, odd people hanging around, one person even told me hat he had found what looked like feathers of a odd color here last week." Robin huffs softly before casting a glance toward Clark "Sorry, mister. Not the time for interviews and such. As he said, we've got bad guys to bust." Robin follows with a swift gesture to his belt... only to pause his hand there. His head tilts slightly as he inquires "Odd-colored feathers? Odd people? Come now, have to be more descriptive than that, Mister Kent?" Green Arrow joins the little group on the street.."Evening" Sandy is listening from the roof. That Kent character sure is suspicious, boyo. A reg'lar shady character, I says. Clark Kent says "actully he said the feathers were plad colored, of course he did smell a little like alcohol when he told me this." Clark Kent says "Hello mister green arrow,I'm Clark Kent from the daily star." Robin, with his free hand (the other poised at his belt), offers a two-fingered Boy Scout salute to Green Arrow "Evening, Mister Arrow." He then inclines a nod toward Clark "This reporter, here, claims to have heard about strange events here. Of course, Sandy and I think its probably a ploy to gain an interview." Green Arrow says "Hello Mr. Kent..boys.." Green Arrow says "What sort of strange events?" Green Arrow looks interested Clark Kent says "Your freinds don't seem to want to give me a interveiw, would you be willing to give me one, mister arrow?" Green Arrow says "Interview eh? Well, why not, might as well give mystery-men some good press." Robin's nose wrinkles as his eyes, bobbing head and all, size up Clark Kent "Seem awfully big for a reporter. Might be a spy..." Clark Kent says "Thank you mister arrow...uh may I call you mister arrow?" Green Arrow says "I've read some of Mr. Kent's work in the paper" Green Arrow says "Green Arrow is fine.." Clark Kent takes out his notepad and gives robin a dirty look. Robin offers a hesitant nod as his hazel eyes continue to survey Clark "If you say so, Mister Arrow." His brows then furrow at Clark's 'look', only to offer a sound "hmph". Clark Kent says "okay for my first question Mister Green Arrow, What are you doing here tonight?" Green Arrow says "I'm just out on patrol right now..no current cases that I'm working on, just on the lookout for anything shady or untoward that might be going on" Clark Kent says "Oh I see and where is your partner..quicke is is name isnt it?" Sandy thinks to himself from the roof, . o O (Like vaguely suspicious reporters who know too much?) Robin softly murmers "I don't have time for this. There're badguys to stop..." at that, his hand parts from his belt, with a swiftly ascending cord following the gesture. Just after a soft 'click' sounds from above, Robin's feet leave the ground as he springs on up after the newly-planted line. Clark Kent trys not to be nervous Green Arrow says "Ah, Speedy! The lad is indisposed at the moment..I think he's come down with flu." Clark Kent looks up in awe at robins disappearing form. Robin whispers "What's with that creep, huh?" Clark Kent says "oh sorry to hear that, I'm always coming down with the flu myselve. I dont think the city air agrees with me." Robin purses his lips as he peeks on over the top of the building. Clark Kent says "uh I don't think your fellow heros like me very much..sir" Sandy whispers "Beats the snot outta me. If you're askin', he knows a little too much for yer average ragman." to Robin. Green Arrow says "Boys will be boys..heh..probably reading all those comic books" Clark Kent says "hee, hee good one mister green arrow sir." Clark Kent pushes his glass's back up his nose. A soft snicker sounds from above... Robin whispers "I don't know, 'Mister Sandy, Sir.'" Sandy motions to Robin like he's gagging himself, finger down throat and everything. Then he rolls his eyes. Clark Kent says "So just how many arrows do you usally carry with you sir?" Sandy whispers "Gloryosky, not you, too! The name's Sandy. Not mister, and not sir!" to Robin. Clark Kent trys to ignore the snickers. Robin offers an impish grin to Sandy, just as he spirits a small object from his belt. Green Arrow says "No more than maybe a dozen at a time..each one has a different gimmick to it" Robin whispers on toward Sandy "I was making fun of the stiff down there." *emitted for the benefit of Mr. Kent* Clark Kent thinks to himself:Next time I see batman I'm suggesting reform school to him. Robin then lifts his hands to his eye. He maintains the pose a long moment as several, soft clicks sound while his attention focuses on Clark. Clark Kent says " May I see one of your arrows?" Green Arrow says "Well..all right..just be careful..hm..let me see." Sandy whispers to Robin, grinning kind've lopsidedly, "Ah, right. Sheesh. 'Sir' to a kid." He shakes his head and whispers again, "Don't know about you, but I'm gonna look this guy up. See if he really works for the Star." Green Arrow fishes out an arrow.."This is my Net Arrow..when I fire this, it releases a net over someone upon contact" Clark Kent says "its very long..uh and hard." Green Arrow blinks and nods. Sandy blinks! and whispers again, "Gee whiz! He's giving his crimefighting secrets to a newspaper guy, and maybe even a spy?" Clark Kent says "Do you pick up the net after your through with it?" Green Arrow says "Yes..don't want to waste a good net" Robin offers a steady nod as he withdraws his hands from his mask. He responds in a soft whisper "That's why I'm getting some photos. If anyone can spot this guy, Batman can." Sandy eyes Robin, then whispers, "Where's your camera?" Clark Kent says "So where do you put the net after you pick it up?" Clark Kent is wrinting every thing down. Robin's gloved palm opens, exposing what appears to be a mini camera (reminiscent of a spy camera). Green Arrow shrugs..."I store it for later use.." Sandy's eyes widen. "Holy mackerel!" he whispers. Robin stifles a boyish smile as he slips the device back into one of the pouches adorning his belt. Clark Kent says " is it true that you can shoot a arrow into the barrel of a gun from up to 50 feet away?" Green Arrow chuckles.."Well, I've only done it *once*.." Clark Kent uses his x-ray vision to ruin the film in robins camera. Robin then reaches to his belt, only to extend his closed first barely on over the side of the building. Another soft click follows as he listens on... (for those who are sensory-endowed, mechanical click and the rolling of an audio tape) Clark Kent says "I've heard rumors that there is a srange x-ray phenomenon is this alley that has been known to ruin film, do know anything about it?" Green Arrow says "News to me." Robin softly comments on toward Sandy "Now for some voice analysis..." Sandy blinks! and pokes Robin in the side. He whispers, "D'you think he has some kind of jammer or something? Oh, wow! I bet he *is* a spy!" Robin hmphs softly as he loftily comments to Sandy "Should be safe. The casing is pretty resistant to natural radiation. Besides..." he glances on over the edge of the building again "I bet Arrow's leading him on. Batman says he's a pretty sharp fellow." Clark Kent says "So mister green arrow, I've many amazing things about your arrow car, could you tell my readers about it?" Sandy blinks again, and huhs softly. He eyes Robin again, then whispers, "That thing military issue or something? The camera, I mean?" Green Arrow says "The Arrowcar isn't so much different from the ordinary citizen's vehicle, under the hood..typical V8 internal combustion engine..gets good gas mileage.." Robin's eyes cast sidelong to Sandy "Can't tell... sorry." He then returns his attentive stare toward Clark. Clark Kent says "Does it really have a fin in the back?" Green Arrow says "Indeed it does." Robin's lips purse as he softly huffs to Sandy "What kind of questions are these? Sounds like he's trying to find out Arrow's weaknesses? Definitely a spy." Sandy laughs quietly. Robin offers a quick "I'm serious. I think this guy's up to no good. We better help Arrow..." Clark Kent says "So how do you afford all these amazing arrows and car. I mean we have just come out of a drepression?" "Should we jump him?" whispers Sandy, grinning suddenly. Clark Kent cocks his ear. Green Arrow says "I'll just say that my current situation has left me extremely well-off." Robin's hand falls to his side, apparently depositing something back into his belt. He then offers a quick nod, accompanied by an impish grin. Sandy immediately launches himself off the side of the building, aiming his feet for Clark's shoulders. [ RPG ] Sandy rolled 2d10 for a 6 and 9 - Total 15. Clark Kent says "So how do you keep your hat from blowing off when you swing from your rope arrow?" With a soft -whhhhiz- of a released cable, Robin swoops on down after Sandy, intent on landing behind Clark. [ RPG ] Robin rolled 2d10 for a 4 and 2 - Total 6. Green Arrow says "You know, Mr. Kent, I never pondered about that" Clark Kent says " uh your freind seems to have hurt himself." A sudden *clank* sounds behind Clark as Robin's feet plant on top of a trash can. His subsequent spin sends the trash can clattering as he lands daintely on his feet. A timid "Oops..." emparts from his lips. Green Arrow looks around.."What the?" Green Arrow says "What are you boys up to?" Sandy hits Clark's shoulders at an astonishingly normal speed, but...doesn't keep going; it's like hitting steel. He...well, yeah, he does something hideous to his leg, and, well, unceremoniously howls in surprise and pain. "What the HECK! You made of...OW! You IRON, mister?!" Clark Kent says "what..uh.. hello mister wonder boy sir." Clark Kent fakes fear and steps back. Clark Kent drops to the ground in fake pain Green Arrow blinks.. Green Arrow says "Why are you striking Mr. Kent? He's not done anything to warrant it?" Robin summons up his superhero pose, planting his hands on his hips as he stands firmly behind Clark. That is, until Clark backs up... Robin scampers a step on back "We're onto you, Mister." Sandy aghs, ow ow ow, then GLARES at Clark. "BULL-oney! You FAKER! You're a Nazi Spy! Maybe even the Ubermensch!" Clark Kent says "help.help!" Green Arrow says "All right you two, cut it out." Green Arrow says "I'm fairly certain we're dealing with the real thing, but we can settle this, if Mr. Kent has his press ID" Robin waves a dismissive hand "What's with the questions, huh? Didn't ask Arrow about why he fights crime. We think you're a tactical spy..." Clark Kent looks to see where his glass's have fallen to. Sandy gahs! "And I think my leg's broken! I think that guy's a SUPER spy! Try an' hit him!" Green Arrow looks on the ground for Mr. Kent's glasses Clark Kent says "oh my idea it's.. here some where.. let me find it." Clark Kent says " Super spy,ha,ha your a funny one mister golden boy ..sir" Robin blinks to Sandy "I'm not going to hit him! I mean, not unless he runs..." Robin's eyes narrow as he stares menacingly (okay, as much as a less-than-five foot kid in a suit can) toward Clark "What's your real name, Mister? Who do you work for?" Clark Kent says "ahh heres my ID!" Green Arrow picks up Mr. Kent's glasses and hands them to him Clark Kent hands it to robin. Sandy bahs. Pansy. Of course, he doesn't think that, as it's SO not a 40s word. However, he thinks something similar. "Fake IDs are easy to make!" Clark Kent says "Thank you mister green arrow sir!" Robin hrmphs defiantly as he glances on down to the offered ID. He spirits up the id, his other hand reaching to produce some device from his belt, of which he raises to his eyes. He then drifts the id to and fro, as if evaluating it. The smugness in his expression then falters as he hesitantly lowers the id, his eyes timidly flitting toward Sandy "It... well, it looks real." Clark Kent says "I work for George Taylor, he my editor." Green Arrow says "George Taylor." Green Arrow says "Well, it sounds legit to me..he certainly didn't ask anything that would give away much." Clark Kent says "How do you keep so many things in that belt of yours ,mister robin sir, it does not seem to have any pouces or anything?" Sandy narrows his eyes at Robin. "Sure. Those Nazi rats have some nasty technology." He inches up the wall, not putting any weight on his leg, then wincing and crumpling slightly. "Let's get out've here. He's probably getting ready to report us to his superiors right now." Clark Kent says "actully mister taylor would be asleep right now. He's not much of a night owl." Robin's lips purse in a guarded expression as he offers the id back "Classified information, mister. We're out of here..." Hazel eyes then flit to Green Arrow "Be careful, Mister Arrow." With his brows furrowed, he then glares back to Clark "We know what you look like. Don't try any funny business." Green Arrow says "Don't worry, boys, I'll keep a look out for fifth columnists" Green Arrow thinks . o O (So enthusiastic) Clark Kent says "Of course..no funny business at all." Clark Kent wipes dust from his suit, Robin offers a steady nod toward Clark as he attempts to muster as much of a 'Batman' stare as possible (probably not quite the same, eh?). With that, he starts on after Sandy... offering a quick whisper as he closes "Hey... you need help?" Clark Kent says "uh sorry for any trouble I may have caused you fine young men." Green Arrow says "Yes, I'd better get on my way as well..still crime to be fought" Sandy uses the wall as a crutch, picking up a couple of pieces of broken broomstick on the way, and heads to the other end of the alley. He glances at Robin, face all wrenched up. "In a second," he hisses. Clark Kent says "Well thank you for your time mister green arrow sir, it;s been a pleasure." Green Arrow nods and wanders off into the shadows Robin wags a finger on after Clark "If you're lying to us... we'll find you. If not, well... if not... " he offers a quick "...sorry" as he turns away, sprinting on after Sandy. Sandy calls back, surly, "Save it for your Fuhrer, Ratzi creep..." He heads out of the alley and disappears around the corner. You walk from 125th St and First Ave to First Ave (Between 59th St and 125th St). Robin walks in from 125th St and First Ave. Robin has arrived. Robin's sprint slows to a canter as he matches your stride "Are you alright? Was he really that hard...?" Sandy is sitting against the building, setting his leg and binding it to the broken broomstick with extra wire from his 'poon. And yes, of course, he's scowling as only he can. "Heck yeah. Y'ever fall off a wall onto concrete?" Robin blinks on back to you "Well, not really. I mean... I don't remember ever having a hard fall." He then cocks his head slightly as he regards you "You think its broken?" Sandy sighs, finally leaning back. "If it's not broken, it's badly sprained. I can get to the hospital fine," he lies. "You better tell Batman about this guy." Robin offers a sage nod "You bet I will. I've the film and taped conversation to boot." He then squinches his nose "If he didn't use a hidden X-Ray device to wipe it. If he's not a spy, he's something." Robin, with that, sprints off... disappearing into the shadows of the night (as oft superheroes do). Sandy hehs quietly, and stands carefully, still using the building for support. He heads slowly down the road, considering the virtues of taxis... FIN
