Having discerned the reasons behind their alliance with Vegeta, Goku tosses the ex-villain one of the beans, too. Racoome tries to catch it in mid-air but Goku's just too fast. Vegeta munches and is rather surprised when all of his injuries are healed.

Meanwhile, in one of the many sub-plots, Chi-Chi badgers Bulma's father into giving planet Namek a ring on the radio. She wants to know about Gohan, of course, but the person on the far end, Bulma, has no idea what's going on either. Bulma, it seems, isn't holding up very well in this sort of wilderness setting; she may be an adventurer, but she's used to carting a lot of stuff along with her, not hiding out in a crevice. Bulma and Chi-Chi surl at each other across the light years before the signal cuts out, and Bulma mournfully realizes she'd rather be yelled at than be left alone.

Meanwhile, Captain Ginyu is holding 'Ginyu Force' tryouts, but has discovered that none of Freeza's other minions have any style at all. Unlike the Ginyu Force, these minions are incapable of mighty posing, one of the chief requirements for any cool villain. So, to announce their failure, he begins hurling them all off into the sunset. They sure go through a lot of henchmen in this evil organization...

Meanwhile, back at the fight scene, Goku takes on Racoome, easily dodging the warrior's attacks so fast that only Vegeta can track him. He jaunts over to the two spectating Ginyu Force members and explains that if they don't give it up and leave, he's going to have to beat the crap out of them. Then, back to Racoome, who powers up an area-effect attack (the better to take out speeding opponents with) before being one-punched by Goku. Whups.

The other two Ginyu Forcers stare in shock, then leap into battle as well. Or, rather, start posing and showing off, zipping around Goku, who merely stands there waiting for them to do something.

Gohan and Krillan just gaze in shock as well. Oh, and Vegeta also gazes in shock, but the shock of knowing what's going on. Goku, it seems, has achieved the powers of a 'super saiyan', the legendary hidden potential of the Saiyan race. This pisses Vegeta off no end, as Goku is a mere Saiyan warrior, and he, Vegeta, is of the royal bloodline. Vegeta is, however, smart enough to realize that until he can discover a means of becoming a Super Saiyan himself, Goku is by far his superior.

About this time, the remaining two Ginyu Forcers attack...
