KIREYAS
Non-Player Character
Serpent Demon of Mirrors
Living Mirror of Lir
Dressed in shirt and trousers of black cotton trimmed with silver
lace, he
was leaning against the side of the doorway, his straight silver hair swept
back, his
pure silver eyes thoughtful and very calm.
Mysterious and introverted, the demon known as Kireyas is formed from the
deeply poisonous venom of the Serpent of Chaos. Originally shaped by Lir to
be the magical sword carried by Deirdre in her innocent youth, he chose to
attain human form and announced himself to onlookers as the protector and
lover of Deirdre. Few know this man to any great extent, for he tends to
keep his thoughts to himself. He resembles Corwin in both build and facial
features, save for the colour of his hair and eyes.
KIREYAS - SERPENT DEMON OF MIRRORS
(300 Point Version by Craig Wright, player of Deirdre and Corleu, and Tony Pi)
"Sleep now. I'll watch over you."
Kireyas is devoted to Deirdre, though he is madly possessive. He will protect
her, so long as she does not violate his trust.

KIREYAS - LIVING MIRROR OF LIR
(400 Point Version by Craig Wright, player of Deirdre and Corleu, and Tony Pi)
Kireyas is more than just a normal artifact. He is truly the third Mirror of
Lir, a living incarnation of Paradox might. From the very beginning he has been
a tool of Lir's, and his true loyalty lies not with Deirdre but with his
creator.
It is horrifying to think that Lir has been manipulating his own granddaughter
in his revenge against Oberon, by making a creature for her to love instead of a
true man. It is even more horrifying to think that Kireyas willingly infected
Deirdre, Lorelei and Meredith as part of a scheme to resurrect the Guisel Queen.
What other treacheries must Kireyas commit before people realize the truth?

Exalted Shape Shifting[100] - Kireyas is made of pure Serpent of Chaos
venom, and may shift into any form of any
consistency at almost lightning speeds. He is well-nigh
indestructible, and it would take another true aspect of the Serpent to harm
him.

GM TIPS FOR PLAYING KIREYAS
When in doubt, shut up. Kireyas tends to speak only when he has to, and is
usually very laconic even then. Uncomfortable with expressing strong
emotions, his viewpoint on the world is perhaps strange by human standards,
as he was born a demonic sword, crafted by Lir from the venom of the
Serpent of Chaos. Simply put, he is not human though he walks in human
shape, and may not understand humanity, nor may anyone human truly
understand his viewpoint as a demonic and crafted creature.
KIREYAS AS FATHER
Kireyas has no real idea of how to be a father. His demonic, unhuman
nature makes him uncomfortable with the whole idea and with the
powerful feelings attached to the role. He is very detached as a
result, in a way similar to Oberon, keeping his children at a distance
to avoid embarassing displays. With no experience of being raised as a
human, he does not know how to act as a father, and his only living
children to date are Lorelei and to some
extent Clarissa. Others miscarried before being carried to term, and
Kireyas has no apparent viewpoint on that either.
KIREYAS AS A PLAYER IN THE GAMES OF PARADOX
Kireyas remains close to Lir and Madoc, and
presumably shares their goals. For some years he was also close to his
wife, Deirdre, but they have grown apart
over the years for many reasons (most notably the final miscarriage of
Corleu). Recently it has been revealed that both Kireyas and Lir may
have fallen under the mental enslavement of the Drake of Paradigm,
which may explain the darker twisting of that relationship and the
apparent desire of Kireyas for the death of his wife.
