As you can probably tell from my web pages, reading and discussing books is my longest-lasting and one of my most significant hobbies. Here are links to various web sites about books that I've found interesting or useful. (I don't link to the web pages for individual authors; there are too many of them worthy of linking, they change too often, and there are other resources for finding them.)

Charities and Non-Profits

A collection of charities and non-profit organizations that I personally support and recommend that others support as well. If you've thought about donating to charity but have felt a bit blah about giving to the typical huge, widely-marketed, widely-publicized charities that will use most of your donation to pay for advertising to get you to donate more, you may find some interesting alternatives on my list.

Interesting People

Interesting people and personal web sites that I've found and still read periodically. This is a mixed bag of all sorts of different things, the only common theme that I've found the sites interesting enough to return periodically and look for anything new.

On-Line Stores and Vendors

I shop on-line by preference, and almost exclusively for such things as music and books. Here are my recommendations for the best on-line vendors, the ones with reliable service, good selection, a good web interface, no spam, and a willingness to do what a good on-line vendor should do: just let you find and buy what you want without getting in your way.
