Dave's Lego Exo-Force Rantlet 7701 Grand Titan See http://www.eyrie.org/~dvandom/BW/Lego/Exoforce77 for general line comments. CAPSULE Good main model, dynamic colors and a nifty spinny light weapon. Arms are a bit wimpy, but the overall model is pretty sturdy. Recommended. $15 price point. RANT Main Model: Grand Titan Secondary Mode: Titan Tracker Pilot: Takeshi Pilot Hair Color: Green Main Mecha Colors: Red, Black Weapons: EMP Fang, Rotating Laser Cannon Armor: Intractium, 8" thickness Unit Designation: C.01 Unit Type: Ground Nickname: Dragon Fang (left boot decal) Like 7700, build time was a little over an hour for me. Total height is 8.25" (21cm) with a shoulderpadspan of about 6" (16cm). The shoulders are non-articulated in this toy, and they're locked down pretty solidly...I've had this fall off the shelf or table several times now (sigh) and at most an arm has popped off and the pilot fallen out. The armor is overwhelmingly red, with some black and gray structural parts. The clear accent color is yellow-green. For some reason he has a wrench on his back in addition to the antenna the Stealth Hunter has. The cockpit is a narrow smoky clear bit, offering very little coverage, and has a pair of clear yellow-green cones at its base as anti-personnel guns. Both shoulders are topped by short missiles or blasters. The right arm ends in the EMP Fang, a big scissors weapon that uses a pair of Toa Metru Matau's glider swords to snip enemy fiber optics. It has a "Sharp Edges" decal near the hinge point. The right arm ends in a stubby spinning weapon with six clear yellow-green barrels that rotate in front of the fiber optic tip. It is not driven by any gimmick, but does spin freely. The hips, knees and ankles are Knights Kingdom (KK) ratchet joints, with a rod-and-hole swivel at the ankle to let the feet lie flat. The shoulders and elbows are Technic rod-hinge pieces, mounted in swivel holes. These joints do pop apart fairly easily compared to the KK joints. The pilot figure is red plastic with gray hands and gray armor detailing printed on the chest. This and the faces are the only printed images on the toy. The head is the standard yellow. At this time, I have no plans to assemble the Titan Tracker or the combined mode, which the online flash comics call the Mountain Warrior. Dave Van Domelen, now to build some more sets!
