Well, I did some more TF shopping today. Target had restocked their Rotor Force (and the new versions of the Deceps have red rotors...ugh) but either didn't restock the Laser Rods, or they were immensely popular. As it stood, there was one Volt left, and none of the others. Minutes later, thanks to my salesmanship, there were no Volts left (I got a guy to buy his son Volt instead of a TMNT Mutations toy). At Toys'R'Us, they had all the Laser Rods in, but no Rotors. I then convinced myself that Jolt still sucked (}->) and convinced a lady who was looking for MMPR Zords to buy Sizzle. Hope Hasbro appreciates my efforts. Of course, swept up in my sales pitch, I ended up buying Electro. All I can say is, wow. He's easily got the most complex transform of the Laser Rods, and in fact is 'upside down' relative to them. In other words, his back half becomes arms instead of legs, and his hood flips to his back instead of becoming his chest. His 'sunroof' sticker also blends better with his paint job than Sizzle's or (ick) Volt's. Those stickers are pretty bad in general, but Electro's isn't quite as bad. One disad Electro (and Jolt) has is that his hood button isn't blended in. Volt's looks like a hood ornament and Sizzle's is part of the engine block, but for Electro it's just a button. One apology on my part for the prior rant: the instructions *do* show how you can remove the light source and put it in the bot's hand...but the transforms on Volt and Sizzle are so simple I never looked at the instructions. Dopey me. Electro: Function: Street Defense Motto: "I'm turbocharged and livin' large!" General personality: Never backs down from a challenge, velocity addict STR: 8 INT: 6 SPD: 9 END: 5 RNK: 5 COUR: 9 FRP: 6 SKL: 5 Oh, in defense of Sizzle: slashing down telephone poles is to a 'Con what knocking down icicles is to a human. A bit of destruction you can engage in without really getting in trouble with your bosses. Certainly it was meant to be an example of a generally destructive personality, rather than a fixation on specifically smashing phone poles. Dave Van Domelen, found his few Micromasters could easily sit in Electro's pickup bed and ride shotgun.... A few more bits: : Electro's a real lowrider. You have to transform him exactly right or he won't roll on a flat surface. : By folding his back wheels back until the sword stops them, you get a sort of flying car design, which also does bootlegger reverses when rolled. }-> Dave Van Domelen, whee!
