Okay, this is extremely late. That's because I only got them on clearance at Kay Bee today (I hadda go downtown for the first time since last June, and hit a mall there which had a much better-stocked KB than the one I went to last weekend). I now have all of the small G2 cars, aka Axellerators (aka Munchkinmasters). No jets there, unfortunately, and I decided to pass on the $8 versions of Inferno and Sideswipe. BTW, don't mind my address being in the newsgroups line, I'm experimenting with my newsreader. In case it works, I set the followup-to line so that I don't get pelted with email. }-> Note: all four cars, plus trimmed Tech Spec cards, fit nicely in an empty box of Creamette Small shells (7 oz size). Heh. WINDBREAKER: Function - Advance Intelligence Scout Mode: Camaro, orange and blue (but more subdued than Gobots) Car stability: Great. Weapon held in as engine by tabs in hood. Robot stability: Good. Coolness of Transform: High, considering the size. Even when well-practiced, it takes 6 or 7 distinct motions to transform. Head pops out of flip-down chest panel. Best transform of the lot, IMO. Other points: STUPID name. Like Troll Barbie, this one will go down in the annals of "Names They Didn't Think About Enough First." Fastest of the team, so figure his 10 SPD is higher than Rapido's 10 SPD. Sigh. Munchkinmasters. STR: 8 INT: 8 SPD: 10 END: 7 RNK: 9 COUR: 9 FRP: 7 SKL: 8 RAPIDO: Function - Platoon Commander (Windrazor's opposite number) Mode: Race car, unsure of model. Red (with aqua in robot mode) and black detailing. Car stability: Great. Engine is pegged to back rather than under hood. Robot Stability: Okay. Chest pops off a lot, has no-neck syndrome. Coolness of Transform: Not very. Hood/chest loosely held on, takes very few motions to transform. Note: Windwshield can rotate, not pointed out in instructions. Also, legs must be swung back in together when returning to car mode, or it won't work, and this can be a real pain. Other points: as noted, has no neck. His chest doesn't drop down far enough, making it so that the lower half of his face is concealed. STR: 9 INT: 10 SPD: 10 END: 8 RNK: 10 COUR: 9 FRP: 9 SKL: 8 (GAH!) TURBOFIRE: Function - Supplies and Support Car mode: Souped up pickup truck. Could be Electro's brother. Aqua and reddish orange wit pink detailing. Car stability: Good. Gun just slides into place, but stays well. Robot stability: Great. His hood can't pop of when pulled down to become his chest, it snaps into place when done, and holds well. Coolness of Transform: So-so. Unique arm arrangement among the group. Still fairly simple to do, though. Other points: his engine-gun can be seen in the hands of almost any G2 comic Autobot. It is the archetype. Bow down before it. }-> Unfortunately, his arms don't extend past his chest. Oops. Least munckinized stats of the lot. Described as "dependable and stolid," but I think they meant solid. STR: 9 INT: 5 SPD: 8 END: 7 RNK: 8 COUR: 9 FRP: 8 SKL: 6 SKRAM: Function - Crack Patrol Car mode: sportscar, damn, the model is on the tip of my Galanized tongue.... Blue with orange body parts and pink detailing. Car stability: Poor. Hood keeps wobbling, gun falls out easily. Robot stability: Fair, although again, hood/chest falls off easily. Coolness of Transform: Low. Simple transform complicated by weakly- attached hood. Chest keeps going crooked on its own. Transform back to car form is a pain, since the legs and hands don't fold together well and the hood keeps popping out (as I think I've mentioned). Poorest design of the lot. Other points: Still, the robot mode *looks* the coolest of the three, perhaps tied with Turbofire. When you get the chest straight, that is. Shortest of the robots, because his hood is totally empty space unlike the others. Has stickers in the most awkward positions. And his function begs the question of whether TFs do drugs. }-> STR: 7 INT: 8 SPD: 9 END: 6 RNK: 7 COUR: 9 FRP: 8 SKL: 7 Dave Van Domelen, on that same shopping trip saw the "Ultimate Ninja Playset." Heh. Cheesy little plastic swords and shuriken.
