(Channel is from a G1-style setting, originally created for Transformers: the Lost Years MUX, which chronicled events on Cybertron starting right after the departure of the Ark. However, I have long since lost all data related to that MUX, so I'm making this up from scratch.) AUTOBOT: CHANNEL Altmode: Information Center Function: Transfer Specialist Motto: "Everyone's gotta be somewhere. You need to be somewhere else." CHANNEL was not created to fight, he was created to make sure that things got where they needed to be: Energon, data, personnel, whatever it was, he got it from point A to point B. In support of this, he had several systems that made it easier for him to create temporary bridges over broken energy conduits or data lines. His life continued as normal for a while after the Great Wars started, but he could still see the carnage wrought by the war, as supplies became scarcer and casualty lists flickered through his networks. He did his best to support the weakening AUTOBOT cause from behind the scenes, but eventually he could see that it wasn't enough. Modifying some of his systems to function as weapons, and training himself in an obscure fighting art he discovered in an ancient archive, CHANNEL joined the fray. STR 6 INT 8 END 7 SPD 3 RNK 4 COUR 8 FRB 6 SKL 9 Avg 6.375 Abilities: First and foremost, CHANNEL is a logistical genius, able to make sure everything is where it needs to be. In pursuit of that duty, he has become a reasonably skilled computer programmer, medic and even something of an inventor. CHANNEL is also able to form a living conduit for energy, a talent he has learned to use in combat, absorbing incoming energy attacks and then redirecting them at the enemy. If he exceeds his limits, however, the system may break down and require lengthy downtime for repairs. In his information center mode, CHANNEL can generate both 2-D and 3-D images and full surround sound, although this ability is mainly useful for presentations...it is not realistic enough to make anyone think the images are real. However, he has amplified his sound system to let him create damaging sonic blasts or disorienting waves in either mode. CHANNEL has learned the basics of Ro-Jutsu, a forgotten martial art that concentrates on redirecting an opponent's attacks into throws and holds. Weaknesses: CHANNEL is not an experienced combatant, long on theory and short on practice. Also, most of his ability to damage others requires that they first attack him...if no one attacks him, his combat effectiveness is significantly reduced. Finally, his alternate mode is fairly useless in combat, and moves very slowly on magnetic impellors.
