You know that number listed on the main ASH page? Well, it's not really the number of stories. Rather, it's the number of files containing story content, give or take a few. Given that ASH is dominated by comicbook-style serial stories with interweaving plotlines, a given file may contain bits and pieces of half a dozen stories. Sometimes, such as in anthology posts, there will be several complete stories in one post. Other times, as seen in miniserieses, there will be one story split over several files. Hence, actually counting the number of stories in the ASH universe is more than a little impractical. We can count files, though. Consider them to be like issues of a "dead tree edition" comic. :)
