Pocketing his keys carefully as he goes down the steps, Sandy fishes in his other pocket. After a second, he reaches the bottom and also appears to produce that for which he was searching. A key! and a lighter; how horribly cliche'd. Ah, well. Looking back and up over his shoulder, he holds the lone key up in his beplastered hand, grinning. "Got yours made today, pal." Triumph goes IC. Jack goes IC. You go IC. Will McIntyre strolls down the street, a simple brown paper bag in front of him. The soft, still morning breeze ruffles his hair gently and his jacker flaps about lightly as he pushes forward through the rippling tide of early morning haze. [OOC] Sandy Hawkins loves how we're just completely and totally ignoring the fuckin' Jay plot. "Groovy" is Jack Knight's reply. He stands behind Sanderson, hopping up and down a bit as the chill night wind hits his skin, stinging slightly. "Man, it's cold." Wrapping his arms around his body, he looks down in the direction of the wind, almost as if expecting some great menace behind the cold temperature. Alas, alack...there's nothing there. Just a guy walking home from the grocery store, looks like. "Opal was always warmer. I still haven't gotten used to these damn New York winters." He looks rather impatiently at Sand, waiting for the door to their apartment to open. [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "Er, okay. :) Change that to the top of the steps, and going up. ;)" Sandy Hawkins raises his eyebrows, moving maddeningly slowly to look at Jack again. "What, you're cold? Chilly? You big freakin' baby," he grins, finally going to unlock the door. Aha, oho, but his hands betray his own chill - so numb he fumbles and drops his key. "Shit!" he exclaims loudly. Loudly enough, in fact, for anyone walking by to hear quite easily. No, really, dammit, they don't look like they're breaking in. Really, honest to god! Will McIntyre strolls up, happening upon the pair. He raises an eyebrow in recognition and can't help but smirk lobsidedly. He lifts his brown bag like a cup and offers an imaginary toast. His eyes twinkle just a bit. [OOC] Jack says, "Whoops. Missed that part. ;P" [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "T'sokay. ;)" "Come on, man...come on!" If the urgency in Jack's voice didn't lend credence to the pair's breaking-and-entering appearance, nothing would. He appears to look somewhat nervous and panicked as he watches Sand fumble the keys. "Oh jeez." When he hears the crinkle of paper behind him, Jack spins, and finally notices Will. "Oh jeez." The tone of his words are changed slightly, from his previous utterance. Now they're more resigned to trouble. Apparently, he's recognized Triumph from the last time the three met. Bending to pick up his keys, muttering obscenities all the way, Sandy freezes at the tonal change in Jack's voice. He straightens quickly - uck, was that his back cracking? Okay, more sit-ups - and looks to see what's causing the...oh. Damn. But he looks reasonably cheerful, no? Holding his hands up and out in front of him, the adventurer shakes his head. "Hey...Triumph, right? What's up, man?" No way he's fighting with that cast, anyway. Right hand. Will McIntyre sighs, glad to hear what sounds like the voice of sobriety coming from the Golden Man. "Not much." He pauses. "You live here?" He tucks the sack under one arm protectively. Jack just steps back slightly, leaning against the stoop with a grimace and a glare toward Will. Sandy may believe in the 'forgive and forget' motto, but not good old Jackster. He's quiet for the moment, letting Sand do the talking, even looking a bit incredulous at his roommate's friendly manner. Figuring he's still cold, and they might be a while, Jack reaches into an interior pocket in his Leather Coat and pulls out a pack of smokes. Lighting it rather quickly, he exhales and tries to keep his teeth from chattering. [OOC] Sandy Hawkins sniggers. his Leather Coat, eh? ;) [OOC] Jack grrrs. I need to find a copy of my old desc again. [OOC] Jack says, "Or was that because of the capitalization? ;)" Glancing back at Jack - ah, hey, dammit, he wants a cigarette too (monkey see, monkey do) - Sandy raises his eyebrows again. He looks back at Triumph, letting his hands drop. "Yeah, we do." He pauses, as if making a judgement call. Well, hell, if we let Hippolyta in, we can do no less for Triumph. Even if he beat the snot out of us. "Donna told me you took me to the hospital. Or at least offered. I can't remember." He pauses again, then unlocks the door. "Look, it's way fucking cold out here. Come in?" [OOC] Jack says, "Okay, shift change, bathroom break, and cigarrette, in that order. Be right back. :)" [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "Cigarette for me, too, dammit, then." [OOC] Sandy Hawkins grins at Tri. You'll just have to start smoking. ;) [OOC] Sandy Hawkins idles not long. Will McIntyre nods, his smile diminishing slightly. "Ah...." He looks down in his sack and then turns back to Jack and Sandy. "What the hell! Sure. I won't be able to stay long, mind you." He exhales deeply. [OOC] Jack hasn't gotten to go out yet. Damn customers. ;) [OOC] Sandy Hawkins returns. [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "Wow, it sucks to be you. :)" [OOC] Jack says, "Tell me about it. Still here. Sorry guys. One sec." [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "No worries. :)" [OOC] Will McIntyre says, "You guys mind a raincheck. two hours and I need to be up." [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "Oh, sure. No prob. :)" [OOC] Will McIntyre says, "Sorry. <:) We'll finish this soon. <:)" [OOC] Sandy Hawkins says, "Sorry to keep you up so long, man." Will McIntyre goes OOC. You go OOC.
