So using trump of Shalomar to blip there? Kanna OOCly says, "That was the intention...." Kanna OOCly says, "Is there any particular reason why I -wouldn't- want to use the trump to get to Shalomar, where Kozue presumably is?" Kanna OOCly says, "After all, if I get to Shalomar and Kozue -isn't- there, then time to use the Kozue trump." Michelle says, "OOC Righto. You trump to Shalomar, landing on the docks. Many startled sailors scurry about." Kanna lifts up her hands, placatingly. "Hey, hey, it's all right." She smiles. "Anybody know where I can find Admiral Kozue or Captain Ruka?" One of the sailors says, "They're in their offices, I think." Kanna smiles. "Thanks." She waves, and heads for the two's offices, carrying her bag with one hand as she whistles 'In The Navy' from one of her mom's tapes at her beach house. Michelle asks, "Which one first?" Kanna OOCly says, "See if Auntie Kozue's in, first. Business and presents before peeking in on blue-boy. She -does- have priorities." You go to Kozue's office. There's a line six people long waiting to get in. Kanna considers, and quietly pings gaby to check on the time, and how long it'll be until she needs to return to Castle Amber to chat with Beowulf. You have about two hours. Kanna considers, and checks to see if the line is standing only, or if it's seated-and-call. It's get in line and wait your turn. Ruka's office down the hallway has no one waiting. Kanna . o O (Flirt with Ruka, or be a good little girl and wait in line. Decisions, decisions...) You page, "Meanie. :)" to Akemi. Kanna considers, and asks gaby to ping her with the time at the one hour before rendevous mark, and the 15 minute before rendevous mark, as sufficent warning. You page, "Any idea of how long folks are being cycled through Kozue's office? Secretary I can ask?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "They just seem to be spontaneously lining up. No clue as to how fast it goes." to you. Gaby can do that, no problem. Michelle asks, "So...Ruka or Kozue line?" Kanna hrms, and decides to wait in the Kozue line for a half hour or so, to figure how fast it's going and how many other folks will be getting into line. She has her left-hand ring turn into a whip, which she then loops around her shoulder loose enough to serve as a carry strap, which she ties to the bag so she isn't carrying it in her hand. Kanna OOCly says, "That's my answer. *wg*" It edges along. By the end of the first half-hour, you estimate you'll get in to see Kozue at about the half-hour before you need to leave mark. Fuor more people are now in line behind you. Kanna pulls out a small leather-bound book from an inside jacket of her pocket, opens it, and pulls out a ballpoint pen, with which she starts writing in the book. Kanna stays in the line, and moves with it, though. Kanna keeps her ears open for any overheard conversations. Time flows along. You finally get into Kozue's office with about 40 minutes left. Kozue looks bored out of her mind. She looks up at you, then looks confused. "Kanna, what are you doing here?" Kanna smiles a bit, and waves. "Just wanted to drop off a present from me and Beowulf that we picked up at Cape Westb'ryport earlier today, and drop some news for you." Kanna quickly undoes the whip and retracts it back to ring, and pulls out the model of the Fireshark, which she presents to Kozue. Kanna says, "Figured it'd help lighten your day..." Kanna folks up the bag the ship figurine was in, and tucks the little tin of tea and the bag into one of her jacket pockets. She takes the ship and smiles a little, then places it atop a pile of papers on her desk. "Thank you, neice," she says. Kanna chuckles a bit, and then hrms. "Well anyway, the news isn't as much of an upper... but basically, Bey and I ended up on the same zeppelin flight out from Cathay to the Cape... and to make a long story short, Bloc Rebmaquois struck and blew up the gasbag on the ship we were on." She sighs, and fidgets a bit with one of her rings. "We managed to get everybody off the ship and onto another Zeppelin Beowulf had on hand, but the terrorists themselves managed to get away under the sea... and then a whale ate the downed ship. When we got back home and dropped some things off for Aunt Nanami to look at, she mentioned that it was pretty odd that they were striking that far out, so I figured I'd best go and tell you as well, in case they try something." Kanna says, "BEy also floated the theory that the Dread Pirate Roberts -might- be in league with Bloc Rebmaquois, but at the moment, it's really just a theory. Mostly 'cause of the whale-eating thing." Kozue says, "I suspect the Bloc would distrust the Dread Pirate as a surface dweller, although I suppose it's possible he's secretly Rebman." She looks thoughtful. "I'm surprised the Bloc hit a zeppelin all the way out by the Cape. Do you think they were out to get you, or just randomly blowing it up?" Kanna says, "Right, I'll mention that to Bey. And, well, the lady in question... it was a lady's voice... said that it was 'quite a haul' that she bagged -both- a prince of Amber and Ember..." she rolls her eyes "... so it easily could have been random. But then again, I'm pretty certain both my name and Bey's were on the passenger lists. He got on at Amber, I got on at Cathy. So it -could- have been planned, especially with the number of terrorists that escaped... 12 on hanggliders. Heavy magic was used to blow up the gasbag, too." Kanna says, "If they'd gotten on at the same time Bey did..." she shrugs. Kanna says, "Aunt Nanami was also saying that they'd been quiet for a while. This could be buildup for something bigger that we stumbled on." Kozue says, "Were there any Rebmans on the zeppelin? Or any Rebman related items?" Kanna nods. "Actually, yeah. We recovered a Rebman Sacrifical Dagger, that Bey had Aunt Nanami look at when we got back. And a foursome of artifact smugglers who's contact I've been tracking had been planning to meet with him to buy those daggers off him." She hrms, and scratches her chin. "That -does- beg the question of how le Fox got his hands on them in the first place..." Kanna says, "I managed to get the four smuggers trumped up to Ember, I'll have to shake 'em down further, though they didn't seem that -bright-..." Kanna says, "The impression I got from their brief incarceration on the zeppelin was that they were just in it for the money. But if le Fox and Rebmaquois crossed paths... hrm." Her brow furrows in thought. Kozue says, "I would imagine he robbed one of the Rebman exile groups. Possibly in Atlantis or Amber. You might want to talk to Miwa or Arimi. Or possibly he robbed Bloc Rebmaquois and they came looking for it." Kanna nods. "I'll do that, then." She smiles. "Thanks, Aunt Kozue. I'll go and get out of your hair now." You page, "Miwa and Arimi known names to Kanna?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You know Arimi was the Rebman Ambassador to Amber when Rebma sank and still lives there, helping to run the local Rebman exile community. She was one of Moire's children. You page, "Cuts out as it starts to get into the listing of the UnS setting pages." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "AAAAAAA" to you. She says, "See you later, neice." Kanna waves, heading out and checking the time until she -has- to get back to Castle Amber... and idly counts the number of people outside Kozue's office -now-. There's a very long line now. You have some 20 minutes left. Kanna considers, and decides the heck with seeing how Ruka's doing. She was planning to bail from the area at the 15 minute mark, anyway, soo... She shrugs, and heads outside, pulling out her trump of the Amber Courtyard. You page, "And now, come down to Arden if ye be available." to Chris and The_Prof. Blink. You trump back to Amber. The_Prof pages, "I's available... how to get there?" to you. You page, "waiting to see if Chris's available.. how idle is he?" to Akemi. The_Prof pages, "Or are we speaking metaphorically? :)" to you. You page, "type 'A' to head to the Arden Room from the main game room." to The_Prof. Mikaze has arrived. Windir has arrived. Beowulf bows. Kanna reappears in the Castle Amber courtyard. Michelle says, "OOC Fairly alive, I'd guess. :)" Beowulf says, "OOC Guessing, are we? Tsk. Such a prodigal waste of mental resources." You page, "And now, time to let the Lian out, I think. ;)" to Chris. Michelle says, "OOC Okay, the three of you rendezvous in the courtyard." Beowulf nods. "OOC Apparently got a trump call, as I was heading to my rooms. :)" Kanna OOCly says, "Guess that was me, then, though I -was- planning to just walk up to Bey's rooms. *wg* More like was going to be surprised by Lian's appearance in the courtyard." Beowulf bows. "I take it things went well with Kozue, Kanna? You don't appear to be embedded in any walls or flash-fried." He looks around and notices Lian. "Ah, Lian? A pleasure to see you. How's it going?" Michelle says, "OOC Ahh. Well, just chance encounter, then :)" Kanna OOCly says, "Righto. :)" Beowulf says, "OOC Indeed. :)" Lian waves as she steps out of a strange vehicle ... oval, blue with red go faster stripes and a dark canopy. Six balls are set into it at various points, apparently capable of rotating to point dark openings in several directions. "Hiya!" She grins and jumps to the ground, the opening closing behind her. Kanna blinks, and smiles. "Lian! How'd it going?" She waves, and comes over, pleasently surprised that Lian's here. "And yeah, pretty decently, Bey, though she had a bit of a line backlog. Got some info on who to ask on where le Fox might've gotten his hands on those daggers, and some stuff on Roberts... if he's a surface dweller, the Bloc wouldn't trust him, but if he was secretly rebman..." Beowulf says, "Hm?" He looks at the vehicle with interest. "Nice... whatever it is." Kanna considers the vehicle. "New upgrade, Lian? Or is my eye for vehicles going out the window?" She grins. Beowulf says, "Secretly Rebman, eh? Yes, I wouldn't be at all surprised." Lian shoulders her backback and wanders over to the two. "Newest model, yes. Dual fusion/magitech drive, among other things. How are you doing?" Kanna whistles softly. "Eh, pretty decently. Running around, getting shot at, busting head, watching Zeppelins go boom..." She chuckles, glancing at Bey. Beowulf says, "It's been a rather busy last few days, Lian." He turns to Kanna. "Oh, one more item added to the agenda; apparently Lord Percy received a rather interesting fortune." Beowulf says, "Or prophecy. I'm not entirely sure which." Kanna quirks an eyebrow. "Lord 'Hunting and Macking's My Game' Percy? Dare I even ask?" Lian grins briefly at Kanna's list, then quiets to listen to Beowulf. Beowulf says, "I'd almost believe it was misdirected to him, quite honestly, unless it's playing in his relation to Arden." He looks rather puzzled. "Care to hear it? Perhaps you can make a connection that Lily, Mitsuni, Anna and I could not." Kanna shrugs. "Sure, got no problems with that..." She looks curious. Beowulf says, "It goes, 'Beware the Ice Queen, who possesses Flame Frozen in Stone, and her lover who rules Chaos with his passions. You must flee to the empire ruled by a hammer if you would be free of the power of the old one eyed man and his chaos winds. You will go on a long journey, and if you want to live, you must find the one-side loop and the storms under a blue light.'" You page, "And watch as Kanna's brain goes -click-." to Akemi. Lian arches an eyebrow. "My. Interesting prophecy." Beowulf asks, "Yes. As I said, it doesn't precisely seem to fit Percy at all." He shakes his head. "It was apparently given by a Madame ZaZa, in the Ward of the Tin Pot -- would you have heard of her?" Kanna blinks at that. She blinks again. Her right hand lifts up and absently rubs her neck in the vicinity of her throat... it's a gesture that you've seen her do sometimes before when worried. "... -Percy- got that?" She asks quietly, her eyes wider than normal. Beowulf tilts his head and gives Kanna a curious look. "Why, yes. That's right, your mother was Warden of Arden; does this relate to something she might have known in her time there?" Akemi pages, "You've never heard of Madame ZaZa" to you and Chris. You page, "Figured, but Kanna's not worried aobut her -qright- this momenet...." to Akemi and Chris. Lian hms. "Madame ZaZa? Never heard of her ... maybe you should go and ask her?" She looks at Kanna, waiting for an answer from her. Beowulf says, "On the list for tomorrow or the next day, I think. After the trip to CAFAM, and some more Egyptian research." Lian grins, bouncing slightly on her toes. "You're going to CAFAM? Great! I've always wanted to go there, but shopping alone is no fun." Kanna shakes her head. "Never heard of this ZaZa, but..." She pauses. "... you two got a brief moment... 'bout 20 minutes or so... to head up top?" She gestures with her thumb at the sun, and by implication, Ember. Lian looks puzzled, but nods. "Mom's not expecting me until tomorrow anyway." Beowulf says, "No problem at this end; we should talk to Nanami before she leaves at 5, but that should still leave us plenty of time." Kanna nods, her mein serious. "Good. Sis? Trump Gate, my rooms, Castle Ember, -now-." Her voice seems to brook no argument. "... It shouldn't take that long, but.." Her expression gets more worried again. Beowulf bows and makes a sweeping gesture with his arm. "After you, ladies?" *Blink* Trump Gate opens. You page, "email addies?" to Chris and The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "tbutler@birch.net" to you. Chris pages, "chrisb@thekeep.org" to you. Kanna heads through. Lian bows to Beowulf. "Thank you, good sir." With a smile, she follows Kanna through. Beowulf brings up the rear. Kanna leads them through into her rooms, which both have likely seen before in the past at some time or another. The temperature, as usual, is warm. Several ironwood staves rest in a corner, behind an easel with a traced-out drawing on it in preparation for painting. Some free weights are resting on the floor in another corner of the living room. Books on the shelves, painting by Kanna's mother, and a few by her own hand, hang in the living area. The room itself overlooks the Castle Ember courtyard. Kanna says, "You two make yourselves comfortable... I'll be back out in a second." Kanna ducks into her bedroom, quickly. Beowulf nods and finds a comfortable spot to lean against the bookshelves. Lian drops her backpack off in a corner, then wanders over to the paintings, looking at them while she waits. Beowulf also looks at the paintings, but not too closely at the work in progress; doesn't care to pry. The paintings are familiar... Kanna and Corrine and the Red Knight and Hiko and the Green Knight and Morgan together... a trio of smaller paintings of someone who looks like Juri, another who looks like (well, KINDA) a light-skinned short-red-haired annadil, and another who looks like Vash but smart. Those are all by Corrine's hand. Another painting, more in Kanna's hand, portrays what looks to be Ohtori academy from a distance. Lian glances over to Beowulf, "What have you been up to lately? Anything interesting besides egyptian studies and CAFAM trips?" Kanna comes back out, holding two leather-bound books under one arm, one thicker than the other. She hands the slimmer one to Bey and Lian. "... take a look at this, and tell me what you think." She still looks serious and concerned. Beowulf says, "Oh, the usual... well, except for having the vase stolen in the middle of a sale. I didn't care for that." You page, "And incoming is what's IN that book." to Chris and The_Prof. Beowulf examines the book. The book itself is slim, bound in green leather. The front has a tree embossed on the cover. The inside is written in Kanna's own hand. Lian nods, "I'd hate to have my work stolen too just when I'm about to sell it." She looks over Beo's shoulder as he examines it. Kanna sits on the edge of her desk, and opens her own book, pulling out a small pen from the spine. She looks over at them as they read, quiet. Beowulf stops for a moment, partway through. "Wings of a dragon... wonder if it has anything to do with the Sidar rune?" Lian pauses reading. "Which Sidar rune?" Kanna blinks at Beowulf. "Eh?" She flips pages in her own book. "From where?" Beowulf says, "'Riding with the wings of a dragon'. Tell you about it when I finish." Kanna nods. "Right." Lian nods and reads on. Kanna waits, patiently. Beowulf blinks and tries to digest what he's read. Kanna nods, slowly and quietly, watching their reactions. Lian hms, tapping her chin with a finger as she thinks. Beowulf looks up at Kanna, an unaccustomedly serious look on his face. "I see why that prophecy disturbed you." Beowulf says, "And there are some... interesting... resonances with what went on in the Library this afternoon." Beowulf looks at Lian to see if she's finished. "I don't understand half of this yet, but..." Kanna nods, and speaks, quietly. "I have had that.. for ten years, Beowulf. Ever since I hung from Yig." Kanna says, "You and Lian are the first two to know, past Sumire and Gabrielle, who watched over me as I hung." Lian finishes the last page, then nods. A brief glance to Kanna as she mentions Yig, but her mind seems to be on the prophecy. Kanna's mein is also very serious. And a little bit scared too. Beowulf nods very seriously. "I will keep it secret. Though there may be some others we may wish to bring in on this..." Beowulf pauses and grins wryly. "Or who may push themselves into it, regardless of what we want." Kanna says, "Since then, I've been doing what research I can to puzzle it out. The first parts... they I've managed to mostly figure." She holds up her thicker book. "The latter parts stumped me, though. And now what -you- mentioned..." She nods again. "Thank you, Beowulf..." She quirks a smile. "And oh, of course." Lian murmurs, "I won't tell anyone ... " She looks at Beowulf. "Maybe you should tell us about whatever happened at the library. It might shed some new light on the prophecy here." Kanna's mein becomes serious again. "But I -cannot- do this alone. At -all-. to do so would be suicidal folly. And that would not bring Aunt Juri back." Beowulf says, "As I said, Lily, Mitsune and Anna asked me to come by the Library to puzzle over that prophecy. Afterwards, I started doing some research on those egyptian cultists." Kanna nods, listening again. "Weird that Percy would have gotten a part.. but it might've been a signal, in its way, that it's time." She shrugs, and nods, flipping her book over to the relevant sections. Beowulf says, "After I tracked down six possible shadows to examine, Mitsune came over and asked me what I was doing; I told her a bit about the vase being stolen, and showed her a copy of the runes I'd traced off of all three vases." Kanna asks, "Yeah?" Beowulf says, "She cut them apart and was able to reassemble the runes into the map of what appeared to be a temple, with some of the surrounding area. There were 10 runes left over." Beowulf says, "The three of those runes I could identify were 'sleep', 'temple'... and 'dragon.'" Kanna stares. "Oh man. Think we could perhaps get Anthy to puzzle out the rest?" Beowulf says, "Possibly... I was also considering a visit to Panopticon." Kanna looks back down at her own notes. "For that particular line I'd been thinking perhaps -Sparky-.. but he can't carry that many people." She quirks a slight smile, and then nods. "What'd you and Lily and Mitsune and Anna get on the thing from Percy?" Beowulf says, "Just a moment... one other thing that struck me about this." Kanna hms, and looks curious again. Beowulf asks, "The passage about 'The Unicorn's Heir seeks knowledge, the Lion's Cub seeks power, the Lion's Heir seeks excitement...' 'One would use it for kicks', referring to the Lion's heir, I presume... who does that remind you of?" Kanna frowns at that. "... a child or heir to Annadil?" Lian pages back through the prophecy again, re-reading a passage here and there. Beowulf asks, "Yes, that's what I thought of a moment ago, but something else... who do we know who likes doing things just for kicks? Who helped me by assembling the map?" Kanna blinks. "-Mitsune-?" She stares at Bey a bit. "But since when would she count as the 'Lion's Heir'? She's the kid of Travis and Yumi." Lian murmurs, "Heir does not have to mean actual child. That would be Lion's Cub." Beowulf says, "I know, I know... I'm not in love with the idea either." Beowulf says, "But still... I'm..." Kanna nods, absently. "... yeah..." She sighs, but makes some notes in her thicker book. "It's something that'd have to be examined from multiple angles, I think." Lian asks, "Okay, what do -you- have on this prophecy, Kanna?" Beowulf looks slightly frightened for the first time in your experience. "Something in this... really worries me." Mercutio pages, "Hey Phil, you mind me in Arden?" to you. You page, "sure. Fwding prophesy to you, since Gaby would have heard it long ago." to Mercutio. Mercutio pages, "Wow, cool. You didn't have to do that. Thanks." to you. Kanna looks at Bey with concern, and then over at Lian. Lian says, "Let's go through it from the top." She looks at Beowulf. "It's scary, but don't let it worry you too much. We need your mind here." Beowulf says, "I can't really explain why... it's like a gut reaction." Tybalt has arrived. Beowulf nods. Beowulf asks, "Do you want to go over what we thought about Percy's prophecy first, or this one?" Kanna says, "Percy's part was the part I was pretty much clueless on, if I'm thinking ot he right section." Lian says, "Let's start with the beginning anyway. I'd like to know everything." Kanna says, "Lemme go through that I got... I took care of 'em as I could by what I could pry out of mom from her writings of the time, notes from others, stories about the entire crisis." Beowulf says, "All right... we can see how Percy's fits in to this next." Kanna says, "'Once the gos made war'... I was figuring that that's just describing how the universe came about, such as it were... and then 'toold were forged'... the powers, weapons, whatnots." Beowulf asks, "Right. Wasn't Wayland Smith rumored to be the one who forged the spikards?" Kanna says, "'Wayland Smith'... -don't- know who that -could- be.. might be somebody real, or metaphorical, but somebody or something set up the system..." she blinks. Lian says, "The gods probably refer to the pre-Logrus civilzation ... " Kanna says, "I did not know that." *scribble* "I agree on the gods, tho. Or the entire thing of Elder/Outer/Animal/etc gods." Beowulf nods. Kanna says, "'Spoon Brings forth Order....' That's the Spoon of Dworkin, and the 541 power word runes that Dworkin used to pull out the Eye of the Serpent to make it the Jewel of Judgement." Beowulf says, "Yes. Which is what makes the 'knife' and 'fork' so worrisome." Kanna says, "'Knife slices the barrier...' -That-, to me, almost sounds like it's a sword that'd allow you to cross Universes, and deadly to the Outsiders." Kanna says, "Which, if you're crossing universes, would very much help." Lian nods. "Well, the Fork is the opposite of the Spoon ... while the Spoon is a powerful artifact of Order, the Fork is an artifact of Chaos that provides beings of Chaos with protection from Order." Beowulf says, "Yes. Or something that allows us to slice through the barrier that keeps the Outsiders out, to fight them." Kanna says, "'Fork'... yes, that one worries me, and the stuff later on worries me too..." She nods to Lian. Beowulf says, "To re-enchant the world made grey... sounds like it might have been a last resort in case the Outsiders triumphed." Lian nods. Kanna says, "'Crusader bears the Spoon'..." She closes her eyes breifly, and then opens her eyes again, looking at the portrait of the woman who looks like Juri. Indeed, if you look VERY close, you can see she has a spoon in her breast pocket. Beowulf says, "Crusader bears the Spoon... yes, Kanna. Exactly." Kanna says, "Other Aunt Juri has it. Wherever she is now. And we can't get at it -or- her." She sighs, but nods. "Yes, I'm resigned to that bit." Mercutio pages, "Wow. Some of these are tough, and a bunch are stupidly easy." to you. You page, "Oh, I've already figured most of the Juri-related stuff. It's the acilliary stuff that worries me. :)" to Mercutio. Mercutio pages, "Well, Gabby can help you with some (not all) of it. All some ofthis requires OOC knowledge." to you. You page, "Well, I figured that. *wg* I've been playing as close as IC as I can, and given Gaby was there for Kanna's hanging, if she'd have any ideas, Kanna would have wanted to hear them." to Mercutio. You page, "(heck, she prolly got the recording the next time Kanna walked fire. But hasn't talked aobut it.)" to Mercutio. Mercutio pages, "Yeah. Well, feel free to ask sometime. The stuff at the end has a LOT of Mythos refs." to you. Lian follows Kanna's gaze and squints at the picture, then nods. "Your prophecy says that she is beyond your reach and concerns." Beowulf asks, "Into the Pit... the Abyss?" Lian says, "Or some other place of darkness." Kanna nods at Lian. "For the moment, wherever she is... she's on her own. Good Pyricorn, I HOPE not.." She shudders a bit. Kanna says, "It could be metaphorical, yes. A place you'd rather not be. But moving on." Kanna says, "'Seek the knife'... that one puzzles me a bit, since there's plenty of Cold Wastes and 'City of Gods' out in Shadow..." she frowns. Lian says, "It likely refers to -the- Cold Waste." She shivers. "I was there, once. Not a fun place. The name is quite accurate." Kanna asks, "Shit." She nods, and makes a note. "Was there a City of Gods rumored beyond it?" Beowulf says, "Yes, there are a lot of them. But... hm, Lian; that may match up with some things we figured about Percy's prophecy." Beowulf says, "I vaguely remember something called 'Kadath, City of the Gods' in the Cold Waste. I may have to go back and check my college notes." He taps his chin, lost in thought for a moment. Lian shrugs, "No idea. I didn't stay around long enough to search any City of Gods. " She looks to Beowulf. "Kadath?" Kanna purses her lips, and makes another note. Beowulf says, "That's all I remember; I'll have to try and dig out where I heard it." Lian says, "At least we have a name now." Kanna says, "Any tendril of thought for a clue is useful... it helps expand the knowledge base." Beowulf says, "Fork gone to live with Phoenix in the City of Dreams... That sounds like either Cathuria or the Isles of Avalon to me." Kanna says, "'Fork has gone to live with Phoenix'./.. I've been of two minds of this. It -feels- like it more strongly fits Cathuria, the place Uncle Tylor keeps talking about..." Kanna blinks at the mention of the Isles of Avalon. Kanna says, "-Huh-. -That- I had't considered." Lian says, "I'd say Cathuria too." Lian says, "It's been called the Perfect City, and the prophecy calls it the perfect shining place." Kanna says, "I'd be inclinded against the Isles of Avalon, for several reasons, but I'd need to ask Mom about it." Kanna nods in agreement to Lian. "That was my feeling on the matter." Beowulf says, "Yes... Cathuria fits better. Avalon... I suspect my mind's being fooled by some Shadow literary references." Kanna says, "And then we get a repeat of the gods and tools..." She takes a deep breath. "..and then we get... to Aunt Juri in whole." Kanna says, "She's leading the Phoenix Fleet of Cathuria. I'm -certain- of it." Beowulf says, "Yes. That, I think, is most likely a given." Lian nods. Beowulf asks, "Against the dead? Who might that refer to?" Lian says, "It might not be literally dead ... maybe something from the past." Kanna's fingers tremble a bit, even as she holds her book. She then nods, and continues. "Somehow, she gave her oath to serve... that's how she got out of the Whirlpool. And then against the dead... I don't know. It could be Outsiders, it could be shadows of once-alive people, damned if I know." Beowulf closes his eyes in empathetic pain. "Yes." Lian smiles and puts a hand on Kanna's shoulder. "We'll get your aunt back, don't worry too much." Kanna takes a breath to center herself. "Moving along. Let Phoenix be your guide... -My- suspicion is that it has something to do with the Phoenix Egg Aunt Juri used to send her last letter back." Beowulf says, "Hm. Perhaps. My thought is that it referred to the Phoenix that holds the Fork." Kanna smiles slightly up and over to Lian. "I know... oh pyricorn I know. It's just... I've been sitting on this for so -long-..." She hehs a bit. "And not it looks liek it might be finally -time-." Kanna blinks at that. "Hrm. That's another avenue." Beowulf says, "Although they may be the same thing... the Fork is not being *held* by Phoenix, but resides alongside it." Kanna makes another note at that. Beowulf says, "Prophecies are so ambiguous..." Kanna says, "Cousin Hiko had the egg last I checked, I need to check and see if she did much work analyzing it." Lian looks to Beowulf, "Well, the Phoenix in the city of dreams holds the Fork. Juri heads the Phoenix fleet of Cathuria. A visit there will be useful for more than one reason." Kanna chuckles a bit, dryly. "tellll me about it, Bey." Kanna says, "Well, if the Phoneix in the City of Dreams has the Fork, we might need -another- Phoenix to GET there." Kanna says, "Which is why I was thinking the egg. Use it as a guide, perhaps." Beowulf cocks a wry eyebrow at Kanna, the first halfway-relaxed gesture he's made in a while. "Well, at least you've had 10 years to analyze this one." Kanna chuckles some more, managing to relax, better than her earlier state. Beowulf says, "We'll need to find out more about the egg, in any case." Kanna nods. Kanna says, "Ride with the wings of a dragon... that could tie in with what Mitsune had pieced together... I get a feeling flight is going to be NEEDED for this venture." Beowulf says, "Ride with the wings of a dragon... what did you have on that stanza? The rune might be a chance association, not a true relation." Kanna says, "Especially since Uncle Tylor, when -he- saw Cathuria, he then found himself screwed over as Pattern and shadowshifting gave out, the ship he was following took to the air, and then he trumped out." Kanna shrugs at Bey. "Mostly that we'd need some form of air transport. That links to the next line... 'the child of a dream'." Lian nods. Beowulf asks, "Child of a dream... didn't Mikage call Nausicca that?" Kanna says, "I'm almost -certain- that's Naussica. She's into flight, she has her Mehve, and there's the rumor of how she came to be... Cousin Mikage called her that." Kanna nods, and points to Beowulf. "-exactly.-." Kanna says, "Somehow, we team up, with Phoenix, dragon, and Nausicaa, and that gets us on our way." Kanna says, "That feeds into the next part, too." Beowulf nods. Yes. Beowulf asks, "The sun at noon... it sounds like an Ember reference, but is there something more?" Kanna says, "To slice the bonds and end her service, we need the Sun at Noon, which waits for the Ever-Burning-Brand." Kanna says, "I thought that for a bit a while back, but then I checked mom's patternblade notes." Lian nods, "It's likely that it refers to Merehallow, yes." Kanna says, "The Sun At Noon is the Patternblade -Merehallow-. The Blade of -Air-." Lian says, "Makes sense, more or less, if you go to a city in the air." Beowulf nods slowly. Glad you two are here on this one... Kanna says, "Which also has the power to allow you to shift Shadow and move through it. Quite handy if the place you're going is to have it cut out, which the blades are rumored to allow power use where it normally doesn't." Beowulf asks, "Merehallow. The Knife?" Kanna says, "thing is, according to some -other- notes I dug up about Grandpa's early adventures, he got Justice from the same place that Merhallow was." Lian says, "Asking him where that place is would be somewhat difficult, though. Unless one of you wants to try and talk to his Patternghost." Beowulf says, "It's a thought." Kanna says, "He couldn't get the other sword because it was waiting for the 'ever-burning brand', whoever that was.. and oh, I think the Serpent of Chaos was supposedly guarding it." She sighs. Beowulf says, "If Merehallow *is* the Knife, though, we have some other clues to go on." Lian glances to Beowulf, "The Knife predates the Pattern, like Fork and Spoon." Kanna says, "That'd be weird if it was. I'm thinking Knife and Merhallow are two seperate things." Kanna says, "A possiblity to investigate, but I don't think it's likely." Beowulf says, "True, both of you. It was a sudden impulse thought I had." Lian asks, "What gets me though is the ever-burning brand. Who could that be?" Kanna hehs a bit, and continues. "Anyway, that begs the question of the 'ever-burning brand'. Damned if I know... Me? Sis? Morgan? Cousin Hiko? Somebody else entirely?" Beowulf asks, "A very good question. Who do we know like that... Always afire? Either always energetic... or angry?" Kanna shrugs. "That one's been stumping me. For all I know, it could ALMOST refer to Aunt Juri, back with the 'flames upon her brow', but the sword is needed to -free- her from her bonds, and I don't think she can get out of 'em to search beforehand." Kanna hrms. Beowulf looks at Kanna. "Or *you*?" Kanna scratches her cheek. Kanna blinks, and points to herself. "Me?" Blinkblink. Beowulf grins. "Do you know anyone more energetic?" Beowulf blinks, and starts. "Or Gabrielle?" Kanna ehehs, and gets a fetching blush through her tan. "WEll, I'm trying to keep alternatives open..." She considers. "I did mention sis in the listing, though she's never particualrly -needed- a sword before..." She glances down at her brooch. "Opinions, sis?" Gabrielle pings. "Your guess on this one is as good as mine, Kan. I thought Merehallow too." Gabrielle says, "For all I know, it might be me. Although we prob'ly want to research the etymology of 'brand.' Prophecy likes double meanings." Kanna nods. Beowulf says, "Indeed." Kanna says, "I shudder to think of eternally-on-fire Prince Brands, myself." The_Prof pages, "Isn't that an OOC reference? :)" to you. You page, "No, it isn't." to The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "That's right, you'd have it from Other Juri." to you. You page, "Kanna's heard the story of how Brand tried to redraw the pattern from her mom, who heard it from Juri." to The_Prof. Lian grimaces. Gabrielle asks, "Are we sure it's using brand as a noun, not a PROPER noun?" Kanna hms. Kanna asks, "'brand' as a tatto of some sort?" Beowulf says, "I think it's more likely to be a metaphor, myself." Kanna says, "That I don't know." She sighs. "That's been one of the stumpers." Lian says, "More research on that part, then." Kanna nods. Beowulf says, "Yes." Gabrielle asks, "Isn't the wings of the dragon Hiko's Spikard?" Kanna says, "And where we -start- getting to the points where I wasn't able to translate as much...." Kanna says, "'Breath of the Dragon, actually, I think." Kanna says, "Though... hm." Beowulf asks, "Portals were shut... the Gate of Revolution?" Kanna says, "Thats what that sounds like, yes. Trees could be Yig, icons would be the Elemental Icons ... or the Logrus and Pattern...." Beowulf says, "Yes, that's what it sounded like to me." Lian says, "Probably. Unless someone remembers a war of the Gods after Logrus and Pattern came into existence." Kanna says, "And then we get to the seafood references." She quirks a slight smile, then sighs, looking back in her copy of the book. Beowulf says, "Shark sounds like something related to Rebma, of course." Beowulf says, "'Shark has lost its home.'" Kanna nods. "With all the stuff about ... Bloc Rebmaquois..." Kanna looks like she's getting an 'ahah'. Kanna says, "Shit. That could very well fit." Beowulf asks, "Shark seeks the lost fish/whose father hid one eye/and devoured another'... Derith's son?" Gabrielle asks, "Isn't Shark the name of their crazy sects cracy leader?" Beowulf asks, "Dolphin, Kanna?" Kanna nods at Beowulf. "Exactly." Kanna says, "Dolphin, Shark, they both live in the water...." Beowulf says, "Nanami called their leader 'Dolphin." Kanna says, "They're looking for him, I'm pretty certain. And once they get 'm, they'll -use- him and cast him aside once their goal's met." Kanna says, "Thing is, none of us have -met- him her or it." The_Prof pages, "And here I thought we'd be doing well to have the ship mission done by the end of the session... o.o" to you. You page, "I wasn't planning on it, truthfully. ;)" to The_Prof. Lian says, "Again, something that requires more investigation." Kanna nods. "And quickly, I think. We got hit by Bloc Rebmaquois terrorists en route to Cape Westb'ryport just two days ago." Lian says, "Oh my." Kanna says, "Zeppelin go booom." Kanna says, "Well, okay, not -boom-, more of a 'boom' 'sink'." Beowulf says, "They blew up the zeppelin... fortunately, they seemed to be expecting hydrogen rather than helium." Kanna nods. "Nor were they expecting Bey here to have a spare." Kanna quirks a grin. Beowulf looks faintly embarrassed. "Well, yes." Lian looks at Beo, curious. "You carry spare zeps around with you?" Beowulf says, "In a manner of speaking." Beowulf says, "'And her will/Is not her own'... that worries me." Lian says, "Outside control. Probably not by anyone nice." Kanna hehs, and returns to looking at her book. "That pretty much covers the major sections of the bits on Derith's Kid and the Rebmaquois... their leader might be ... yes." Beowulf says, "Manipulators in the shadows *love* revolutionary terrorist organizations..." Kanna says, "There's only -so- far one can go before Terroris... well, terrorisim goes too far as it is." She sticks out her tounge. Kanna says, "'Solve the problem, or blow up innocents in protest'?" She rolls her eyes. Beowulf grins wryly. "Yes." Beowulf says, "Not a good solution. In any sense of the word." Beowulf asks, "The Unicorn's Heir, the Lion's Cub, the Lion's Heir... hm. Who might they be?" Kanna nods. "And that pretty much covers all that I've figured for things, save for one bit in the middle past that." Kanna shrugs at Bey. "That the part where I've been getting into 'No Clue'." Kanna says, "Sounds like folks from our generation or the next, but..." Beowulf says, "Seeks excitement, use it for kicks... that fits Mitsune too well, but I really don't like her in connection with that. I have trouble imagining her as being the Heir to Annadil, in any sense; she's a nice girl, at heart." Kanna says, "If those even are all linked together... I admit, now that I look at it, it could -work- like that in the three sections, but..." Beowulf says, "Lion's Cub... some remaining child of Annadil's? Goodness knows, there were enough of them in the previous generation." Lian says, "That's what I am thinking." Beowulf asks, "Who do we know of that seeks power?" Gabrielle laughs through Kanna's pin. "A shorter list would be people who DON'T." Lian looks at the pin, "Be nice, Gabrielle. They aren't that bad." Beowulf shrugs. "Well, in the power-grabbing sense, anyway." Kanna patpats the pin. "Now now... true, but still." Kanna says, "Until we can figure better details for things, I'm not sure how well we'll be able to sort who these three.. or nine... might be." Beowulf sits upright at another thought. "Perhaps one of the people involved in the Golden Circle warring?" Kanna raises her eyebrows at that. "Hrm? There were a lot of those... you mean kingdoms and heirs?" Kanna considers, and wracks her brain for heraldry of the folks involved in the golden circle. Beowulf says, "We all tend to focus strongly on our own little fraternity here, but there's a whole big universe out there. Yes, kingdoms and heirs..." Beowulf says, "Though there's another nastier possibility, given the later bits -- the Courts of Chaos." You page, "And this should hopefully draw on Kanna's geneology skill, if she can think of anything..." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "None of the Golden Circle uses a lion heraldry." to you. You page, "What about Lava Circle?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You know the Lava Circle better than me, unfortunately :)" to you. You page, "D'oh. True. Don't think there are any, actually. :)" to Akemi. Lian sighs. "Yet another We Need More Information bit." Kanna frowns, but nods. "Yes. No telling how many OTHER kids Annadil might have had. And -that- sort of info ain't easy to get." Beowulf nods. "And the Lore they refer to... sounds like something eldrich and forbidden." He shudders. "Pre-Logrus information, perhaps? Secrets of the Sidar?" The_Prof pages, "How d'you make thought-bubbles, by the by?" to you. You page, "I just go : . o O () from a pose." to The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Ah. For some reason, I thought it might be a built-in command. " to you. Lian says, "... or, if Lion refers to Annadil ... Outsider lore." Kanna says, "Well, none of the Golden Circle uses lion heraldry." Beowulf says, "Yes. But how likely was it for Annadil to have left children in the Courts? Pretty damn likely, if you ask me." Lian nods. Beowulf says, "And the conclusion we'd reached from Percy's prophecy was that it referred to some sort of conspiracy in Chaos." Gabrielle pings. "Anthy said once his son Ishmael was King of Chaos." Kanna nods. "And the Lore... yeah, that's starting to give me a sinking feeling. Outsider stuff is the kind of stuff you want to approach with a ten meter... good unicorn." Kanna says, "A Chaos conspiricy. Well, fuck." Beowulf looks like he'd fall into a chair if he weren't already sitting down. "His son... King of Chaos. Dear Ghu." Kanna says, "And with no Annadil around, it would've passed to him -anyway-..." Beowulf asks, "So what other power could he be seeking?" Kanna says, "Supposedly. I'm not up on the Chaosian succession rules." Lian says, "The Lion's cub ... seeking power. Perhaps even alliance with the Outsiders, like his father." Kanna shudders. "... by the four heraldric beasts... That..." She shudders again. "What the fuck, are we going to have Opening of the Gate two-point-oh or something??" Beowulf says, "I... do not like the sounds of that." Kanna rubs her forehead. "We're getting in too far with this. Step back, take breath, recoup and reconsider." Lian asks, "Continue, think about the cubs and heirs later?" Kanna nods. Beowulf says, "Yes. Let's move on." Kanna says, "I have a suspicion about the 'Too dangerous' bit and the 'Hand of Melkor'..." Beowulf says, "Too dangerous to use/throw away/keep/destroy... sounds like a major item of power." Beowulf says, "Go on..." Lian says, "Melkor ... a bad name." Kanna says, "I -think- it may be referring to the 9 Lion Spikards and the Master Spikard that mom heard about long, long ago, when Cousin Shaft came to Ember the first time to get his brain cleaned. Two of them were worn by Aunt Wakaba and Embra-wakaba, but claimed by our side eventually... dunno what happened to them -after-, though. And the Master was worn by Annadil, which was how he controlled his puppets." Kanna says, "I need to double-check again, see what the true count of them was supposed to be." Lian says, "... If that is true, Annadil might have been Melkor's puppet, just like the Lion spikard wearers were Annadil's." Beowulf asks, "That... would make sense. And Annadil controlled the Master? And it went with him beyond the gate?" Beowulf asks, "The Hand of Melkor -- the Master Spikard?" Lian shakes her head. "Annadil." Beowulf asks, "Hm. 'And rests in the palm/Of the Key and the Gate'?" Gabrielle's pin crackles. "yOg-soThoth." Kanna nods. "That's a thought, yes... and for the Master, I have no idea. Presumably it went with him. I -think- there were notes about how the Lion Spikards could be destroyed if they were unmade if tossed back into the Font, but the font's been sealed." Lian grimaces. "More Outsider reference." She nods, "What Gabrielle said." Kanna yerps. "You okay, sis?" Gabrielle asks, "Hmm? Did I say something?" Beowulf says, "OOC crackles?'" Lian blinks. "That wasn't you?" Kanna says, "You just blipped." Gabrielle says, "I did? Must've been a faulty connection," she says blandly. Beowulf covers his eyes with his hand as he tries to figure out who might have used her to say that. Kanna just -looks- at the pin, with concern and wariness. Kanna says, "Sis? Manifest in full? I think you and I need to hug." Beowulf looks up to meet Kanna's eyes warily. Gabrielle spirals out of her ring. "huhn?" Kanna glances at Bey, her eyes concerned. Lian half-closes her eyes as if concentrating on something, then shakes her head. Beowulf looks into Kanna's eyes, concerned, then infinitesimally flicks his eyes towards Gabrielle. You page, "Pattern-sight Gaby. Standard reading as susual, Fire Pattern energy imprint, etc?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Yep. She's okay so far as you can tell." to you. Gabrielle rubs her head and looks embarassed. "Sometimes I say things I don't remember. Dad says it's normal, and Mom says someone should always be sure to write them down." She blushes. Kanna nods. "Don't worry... we're doing that." She quirks a slight smile, and gives her sister a quick hug. Gabrielle hugs Kanna too. "umm." Kanna lets go. "Hm?" Gabrielle says, "Nothing." She blushes again. Kanna says, "Riiiight." She quirks a slight smile. "But leaving that aside for the moment... that puts us right into the part Percy was fortune-told." Beowulf smiles gently and cocks an eyebrow at Gabrielle. "You OK?" Beowulf says, "Yes, except from a different angle." Gabrielle blushes even deeper. "I'm fine." She looks uncomfortable. "Umm, the prophecies?" You page, "Gaby's done this speaking thing without knowing thing before, yes, as far as Kanna knows? (from hearing from mom, etc.)" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Yep." to you. You page, "So okay, concerned, but not uber-worried threat." to Akemi. The_Prof pages, "I'm a bit worried about the blushing. o.o" to you. You page, "Beats me. :)" to The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Oh, well. :)" to you. Kanna says, "You can demanifest if you want, sis." She smiles a bit. You page, "And what usually gets Gaby to blush? *wg*" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "The usual things :)" to you. You page, "Ah, okay. :) (well Nagisa isn't around, I hope she isn't pondering hitting on me... *wl* )" to Akemi. Gabrielle says, "No, I've got nothing to do." She leans against a wall. Kanna nods. "Anyway, as you were saying, Beowulf." Beowulf says, "Flame is Frozen in Stone... Percy's prophecy referred to 'Flame Frozen in Stone' as if it were an artifact of Power. I was thinking it might be a spikard, myself." Lian hms. "Anyone got the list of known spikards memorized?" Beowulf says, "I was going to ask Aunt Nanami about it when we talked about the obelisk." Kanna mmms. "A spikard, or the Heart of Flame, perhaps. That's the little bit I was thinking, myself. And the Breath of the Dragon could have worked as Lightning resting by its side, I think." You page, "Okay to consult the list from the page as what Kanna definitely knows?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Yep." to you. Beowulf says, "Except... I can't see Hiko as the Ice Queen. o.o Though that would fit as a reference for Percy." Beowulf asks, "OOC Want me to replay Percy's prophecy in full?" Kanna OOCly says, "Lemme finish my recitiation, then sure." Kanna says, "As far as -I- know about spikards..." She starts counting off on her fingers..." Magnus the Unseen... I think Uncle Drake currently has it, wherever he is. Gaerthos the Ring of Tides, Queen Moire had it but since Rebma went down the hole..." Kanna says, "Silya, the Ring of Wood, which Grandma Haruka had, but got stolen when she was assasinated by the Cimbri. Mom and Aunt Juri either never found it or never had time to find it. The Breath of the Dragon, Cousin Hiko now has. The Master Spikard, lost with Annadil presumably." Kanna says, "Vilya, the Ring of Air, I think Queen Anthy owns now. And Rathos, the Ring of Passions, current fate unknown." Kanna says, "Those are the ones off the top of my head." She smiles slightly. "there's 9 tied to the Master spikard, but those names I don't quite have." Lian says, "If this refers to spikards ... A great lover holds great passions." Beowulf says, "I had a nasty thought about Rathos when talking to Lily, the bit... yes, Lian. Exactly. " Beowulf says, "Percy's prophecy referred to 'ruling Chaos with his passions.'" Kanna hrms. "... supposedly it was once owned by Casanuda, the world's greatest Dwarf Lover... could that be it?" Kanna says, "... oh man." Beowulf says, "Beware the Ice Queen, who possesses Flame Frozen in Stone, and her lover who rules Chaos with his passions. You must flee to the empire ruled by a hammer if you would be free of the power of the old one eyed man and his chaos winds. You will go on a long journey, and if you want to live, you must find the one-side loop and the storms under a blue light." Kanna considers. "Prolly not Hiko, then, since the Green Knight avoids Chaos as a general rule." She quirks a smile. Beowulf says, "Based on that... I don't think we're talking about the Heart of Flame, the Breath of the Dragon, or Hiko. Yup." He grins wryly. Lian asks, "Ice Queen. Maybe the White Queen mentioned later?" Beowulf asks, "Lily was sure the Ice Queen referred to the White Queen of the Frozen Waste, ruler of the Land of Eternal Winter." He looks at Lian. The Cold Waste you mentioned earlier? Kanna flips through again. "Possibly, yeah. Last Child of a fallen crown, if we're talking Chaos, would be Ishmael or any kids he might have, perhaps." Lian says, "Not the Cold Waste. I've heard of a White Queen ruling over a shadow called Icilandia, though." Gabrielle hmms. "I think the Black King was Gendo." Kanna hrms. "I think there was stuff on that back in the Unicorn Prophesies, yeah. I'd need to re-check." She scribbles more notes. Lian grimaces. "More prophecies. Great." Kanna says, "Well, -those- have been majorly annotated, at least. Especially after the Crisis. Makes it easier once they've been fulfilled." She quirks a smile. Beowulf asks, "Could you describe the Cold Waste to me, Lian?" Beowulf looks inquiringly at Lian. Lian hms, "I haven't been there for long, really. It's a fairly standard polar zone. Strange people live there ... pale, almost albinos, with large earlobes. In the far north there were mountains." She blinks, "Wait ... city of gods. Kadath beyond the Cold Waste. The one native I talked to said it was in the far north!" Beowulf says, "Ah. That fits that part of the prophecy, then, but not this one, I think." Kanna blinks at Lian. "Which would be where the Knife would be." Lian nods. "Where we can find it, if we are worthy." Kanna says, "Which may be us, which might not. Damned if I know." She quirks a smile. Lian says, "We can always try." Kanna says, "True." Beowulf says, "Yes. Well, I'm not sure I feel all that worthy. " Beowulf says, "Anydehoodle... the Ice Queen." Lian chuckles softly. "The worthy rarely feel like it." Kanna blushes a bit, and then nods to Bey. Beowulf says, "The Land of Ethernal Winter is a place forever frozen over in mid-December... it's ruled by a pale skinned Ice Queen who can enchant people to stone with a magic wand." Lian says, "As I said, Ice Queen might refer to the White Queen, ruler of Icilandia. It's certainly icy enough." Beowulf says, "This Ice Queen is supposed to be one of a long line of witches." The_Prof pages, "Catch the reference? John is *evil*..." to you. You page, "*pause* Oh hell..." to The_Prof. You page, "... the stone table, and now this." to The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Stone table? Must have missed that." to you. You page, "Back when Corrine's brain was being put back together. Tess referred to the law of the stone table." to The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Oh. Right. Ulp." to you. Kanna asks, "How does that tie to Chaos, though?" Beowulf says, "Her lover is supposed to rule Chaos with his passions." Lian says, "Beauty and the Beast, The White Queen, The Black King. I wonder if those three lines belong together." Kanna says, "But then that'd beg the question how the hell Grandpa gets into it." You page, "Watch as we all try avoiding mentioning outsider-related stuff again. ;)" to Chris and The_Prof. Lian says, "Black King might be your grandfather, but doesn't have to be." Beowulf rubs his temples slowly. "I do not know." Beowulf says, "Black King could also mean the King of Chaos." Beowulf says, "Note the very next line is the Black Goat." Kanna says, "This is the pont where things break down again, I'm afraid." She smiles a bit. "And yes, that too, possibly." Beowulf asks, "Isn't the official royal residence of Chaos the Black House?" Lian says, "Unless they have made Shub-Niggurath their queen, the Black Goat has nothing to do with it." Kanna says, "Ah-heh." Beowulf says, "All right, then... probaly just coincidence about the Black Goat, then." Beowulf OOCly knows very little about the Mythos and its deities. Kanna OOCly says, "Oh, you two?" Lian shivers. "The last part is all about the Outsiders. And what it says ... scares me." Kanna smiles faintly again. "... all i wanted was aunt juri back..." She shudders again. Gabrielle examines the last stanza of the prophecy, and licks her lips nervously. A single bead of sweat rolls down her face. Beowulf asks, "Gabrielle?" Kanna glances over at Gabrielle with concern, biting her lip in a gesture copied from her mother. Beowulf looks gently at Gabrielle. "If there's something we should know...?" Gabrielle shakes her head. "Names. Cthulhu. Nyarlathotep. Cthugha, especially for some reason." She deflates. "But I don't know what they mean, and I can't match them up." Kanna nods, and offers her hand to her older sister. Kanna says, "We can leave that to others, sis." Beowulf patpats Gabrielle. Beowulf asks, "The one line that jumped out at me in the last stanza was 'Black Pharoah escapes his tomb'... The Egyptian cultists we ran into? The tomb in Mitsune's map?" Kanna says, "Huhn." Lian pales. "Nyarlathotep. The Walking Man. Father captured his essence after the Children closed the Gate." Kanna says, "Well, I sure as hell didn't recog whatever power was in their obelisk..." Lian says, "He is the Black Pharoah." Beowulf looks at Lian, and shivers a bit himself. "Where did your father capture him?" Kanna looks at Lian. "Shit." Lian says, "Mom didn't tell me ... I'll have to ask her." Gabrielle cocks her head, and nods. "I remember that! I was there." Lian asks, "Do you know where he took it?" Gabrielle shakes her head. "Your father didn't like people to touch his things." Kanna says, "And when it comes to something like -that-..." she shudders. Beowulf says, "Yes. Brrrrrr." Kanna says, "... I'm pretty inclined to agree that the more hands off, the better." Lian says, "I'll ask mom if she knows." You page, "Aaaaah, world-shattering creepy prophesy knowledge. Don'tcha just love it?" to Chris, Mercutio and The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Yup... and we haven't even gotten into a few of the bits from Percy's yet." to you, Chris and Mercutio. You page, "Wheee! And it's only the third day of the campaign!" to Chris, Mercutio and The_Prof. Chris pages, "Starting it slowly indeed. :P" to you, Mercutio and The_Prof. You page, "Well, Kanna COULD have sat on this longer, but given what got mentioned... *wl*" to Chris, Mercutio and The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Oh, yes... and here I thought Percy's would be tangential until much later..." to you, Chris and Mercutio. Kanna nods. She takes a breath. "Anything else?" Beowulf says, "Well, let's move on to Percy's again..." Lian says, "The others ... the Sea King might refer to Chtulhu who sleeps in R'lyeh ... but what it means by snaring a daughter, I don't know." Beowulf says, "There's a couple of spots there that match up with the end bits of yours." Kanna nodnodnods, her hair ribbons flying a bit. "Yes, let's." Beowulf says, "'You must flee to the empire ruled by a hammer'... we'd figured that as being either Daiga (they have a Royal Hammer), or a Shadow known as 'Reikland' which was founded by a hero with a magic hammer." Kanna says, "Ah." She nods. Gabrielle says, "It might be a person." She tries to look helpful. Beowulf says, "That bit doesn't seem to match to anything in yours, but the next one does: 'the old one eyed man and his chaos winds'." The_Prof pages, "Have your mom check out Gabby ASAP, I think... something strikes me as wrong. o.o" to you. You page, "... eeep. ^_^;;" to The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "I hope I'm wrong. o.o" to you. Kanna says, "Hm?" She moves to note taking again. Lian seems relieved that the topic has changed from Outsiders away again. "That matches the 'Old one eye commands the winds' in Kanna's prophecy ... " Beowulf says, "Exactly. " Kanna looks much relieved that things have turned from Outsiders, too. "Yeah." Gabrielle scratches her head. "The one eyed man." she taps Mjolnir. "Anybody hear heard the Norse myths of Odin and Thor?" Kanna says, "Hrm... that's a thought..." Beowulf says, "That's one of the ones Lily came up with... another is Balor." Kanna asks, "wait, isn't there a Chaos house named after the norse gods? House Aesir?" Kanna says, "That ties with Chaos winds...." Lian says, "There aren't that many Old one eyes, really." She nods to Kanna, "Yup." Beowulf asks, "One thing that struck me about Balor... he's the head of the Chaos house Fomorian. Which is fond of Zeppelins. Another kind of Chaos winds?" Kanna says, "Point." Gabrielle asks, "Doesn't the Serpent have just one eye?" Lian says, "Maybe. Commands the winds ... air superiority? If you have zeps and the others don't ..." Kanna nods to Gabrielle. "There's that too, as well. But nowadays, we've been getting more of that tech spread out." Beowulf says, "Yes. Just a thought, I suppose." Beowulf says, "Final bit -- the one-side loop and the storms under a blue light." Kanna says, "Yeah?" Beowulf says, "One-side loop sounds like a mobius shadow to me; I know of several, including one at Panopticon." Beowulf says, "Interestingly enough, though, there are two lit by blue light... where storms rage." Beowulf says, "Talislanta and Mirika." Kanna says, "-Huh-. Sounds like something to investigate. On top of everyting else." She qurks a wry smile. Lian says, "What's one thing more ..." Beowulf says, "Yes, well. We'd already made a start on that, before I got this prophecy; Lily and I were going to have a working dinner in Talislanta and investigate the place, while seeing if we could hash anything more out of Percy's prophecy." Kanna chuckles softly. "... quite frankly.. after this, I'm looking forward to ship sinking. I -need- it to destress." Beowulf says, "We're supposed to meet at seven to trump there. I'm not sure what I can say to her about it now, with all of this new information. o.o" Kanna purses her lips. "Limit down to just the part relating to percy's bit?" Beowulf rolls his eyes and looks over at Kanna. "You and me both, cousin." He lifts up a hand and watches it tremble a bit. Kanna says, "The... Forestals do not like if the info obtained from Yig spreads too far. I have a feeling I may have pushed it a bit here as it is, but ... dammit, it's for Aunt Juri." Kanna gets up, moves over to Bey's side, and gives him a one-armed hug. Beowulf says, "...damn. It'd be very tricky. But yes... perhaps it'd be best if I don't say anything." Beowulf looks very uncomfortable, caught on the horns of a dilemma. Lian says, "And to think I came home for a relaxing vacation ... now I can call myself lucky if I can fall asleep tonight." Beowulf says, "...yes." Kanna winces a bit, and sighs. "Damn. sorry for dragging you three into this..." Kanna says, "... I've had enough problems sleeping with this burned into my brain as it -is-." She tries managing a smile. Gabrielle waves a hand. "This is so remarkably tame compared to the Crisis." Kanna says, "... this is a point. -then-, they didn't have a clue what they were up against." Beowulf shrugs, and grins ruefully. "Hey, haven't I been supporting Morgan when she wanted to rescue her grandmother? I probably would have been involved at some point, anyway." Lian shakes her head, smiling a bit. "Don't worry, Kanna. I'd have allowed you to drag me in even if I had known." Kanna says, ".. I'm not sure if that's better or -worse-, but..." She smiles a bit more fully. "Thank you, then. All of you." Beowulf looks curiously over at Lian. "How'd you decide to end up here today, anyway?" Beowulf says, "It almost feels like the Unicorn pointed that prophecy of Percy's at me today to bring me here." Kanna says, "Huh. Could be." Beowulf says, "Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if it had a hand in bringing you here." You page, "Or the GM... *whistle*" to Chris, Mercutio and The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Yes, but IC we're not supposed to know that. ^_^" to you, Chris and Mercutio. Chris pages, "There Is No GM. Really. ;)" to you, Mercutio and The_Prof. Lian grins at Beowulf, "I combined a test drive of our new shadow spinner with a vacation. I promised mom I'd drop by every now and then." Beowulf asks, "Shadow... spinner?" Kanna says, "The vehicle she had out in the courtyard. I think." She smiles slightly. Lian nods, "The vehicle you saw in the courtyard back in Amber. Seats four comfortably, two bunk beds, small shower and fridge. Ideal for longer excursions out into shadow ... much more comfortable than actual walking." Beowulf says, "Well, yes." He grins slightly. "I was just wondering whether you do more than 'go out for a spin' in it." Kanna asks, "-huh-. And it doesn't have problems going into non-tech or non-magic shadows?" Beowulf says, "Perhaps it's just all the revelations here, but the first thing I thought of when you mentioned the name is something that spun shadows out of Chaos." He grins wryly. Lian says, "Dual tech/magic engines. And if nothing else works, there is always The Elephant." Beowulf says, "Sometimes you can carry a bit of shadow molding with you and your vehicle." Kanna just arches an eyebrow at Lian. Beowulf says, "The Elephant? Anything like my giant hamsters?" He grins. Lian nods, "I've got a Reality engine in there too. Makes it work in most places." Lian says, "I've never seen your giant hamsters." Kanna chuckles softly, and shakes her head. She stands up again, and collects the thin book from Bey and Lian, and closes it, putting it with her thicker book. "Hamsters, elephants, flying turtles..." Beowulf says, "Well, they're to power my Humvee in non-tech shadows. I think I spent too much time in Bedrock." He grins again. Lian giggles. "Hamster power?" Beowulf says, "Call me a classicist." Beowulf grins. Lian says, "Better than an electic eel battery, I guess." Kanna rolls her eyes, and returns back to her room with the books. After a minute or so, she comes back out, sans books. Beowulf says, "I suppose." He grins again. "Now, what'd really *scare* me is if someone put together a propusion system after visiting Pinata..." Lian grins, "Is that a challenge?" Beowulf winks at Lian. "Constructs at ten paces?" Lian smiles, "Okay." Gabrielle chuckles. Beowulf says, "Although I suspect we may have to put that on hold for a while... too much else to do." His grin is now a bit rueful. Kanna clears her throat. "Well then. Now that that's settled, shall we head back down to Amber and take care of what we were hopefully planning to do before I massively derailed everybody?" Kanna grins, sheepishly. Beowulf says, "Well, it was *important*. And yes, probably time to take care of that now. :)" Beowulf asks, "OOC What time-frame was Ember set on when we came here?" Lian says, "We'll just have to make sure we'll survive long enough for it then." She nods to Kanna. "I definitely have to ask Mom a few general questions about Outsiders." =============================== =============================== Beowulf asks, "OOC, what time is it likely to be in Amber when we get back?" Kanna OOCly says, "Timeframe was normal synch with Amber." Kanna OOCly says, "Which means we may've missed the window for Nanami, but after that I doubt." Beowulf OOCly wipes his brow. "Hooboy. Maybe we should drop by Panopticon and see if one of my friends can drop us back a half-hour or so." Kanna OOCly says, "Given that Kanna had the group head supstairs 20 minutes BEFORE 4 pm." Kanna OOCly says, "Yeeek." Michelle says, "OOC No time travel unless the plot demands it, please :)" Beowulf OOCly says, "Hm. John? GM estimate of what time it is right now?" Beowulf OOCly says, "Awww. ^_^;;" Michelle says, "OOC It's about 530 PM, Amber time." Kanna OOCly says, "Ahwell. Zem's the risks we take. At least Bey still has that folder from Nanami." Beowulf OOCly says, "...damn. :P Well, I guess we're on our own for the boat assult, then. " Kanna OOCly says, "Well, hey, we have Lian here, too... ^_^" Beowulf OOCly says, "Yes... time to read that folder, John?" Beowulf OOCly grins at Lian. "Care for a ride in the Nautilus, little girl? :)" Kanna OOCly says, "But I suggest we punch out for the night, or at least read that folder before cutting out so it gets in the Log." Beowulf OOCly says, "Read the folder and then cut for the night?" Kanna OOCly nods. Works for me. Lian says, "OOC Who are you calling little, old man? ;)" Kanna OOCly says, "I take it KUGAR's back up again?" Michelle says, "OOC I need to go a bit longer with Naus, so we can do you reading the folder." Beowulf OOCly says, "Yep. Though we've got a couple of group members missing... we may call it early. I dunno." Michelle says, "OOC We'll have to see how it goes." Kanna OOCly nods. Well, I can use the downtime, anyway. I did like ow this session went, overall. You could see the connections between this little group. Beowulf OOCly says, "Maybe Mom can fit us up with some disguise magic, though it'd probably be tricky explaining why." Lian says, "OOC Disguise magic? Not much of a problem, really." Kanna OOCly says, "We're not doing illegal black-op things, Aunt Wakaba! Really!" Beowulf OOCly says, "Yep... this group is connecting pretty well. :) And I'm a bit surprised at how well Bey's working together with the Trouble Sisters." Beowulf OOCly says, "Eh, Lian? You have some disguse magic, I take it?" Michelle says, "OOC Okay, the folder indicates the time the boat is arriving in Amber (1 am), it's name (The Eagle), and the route it's expected to take. The ship has a crew of about sixty men. Small trading vessel under KTC insignia." Kanna OOCly says, "He can help get them coordianted and reigned in." Kanna OOCly says, "Boat type listed?" Kanna OOCly says, "And we -are- kinda the older gen of the next-gen's...." Michelle says, "OOC Yes. But don't ask me as I know little of boats." Lian OOCly grins. "Ve haff vays to disguise you, yes." Beowulf OOCly says, "Good enough to identify, most likely, especially with the Nautilus' sensor systems." Kanna OOCly nods. Well, no problems on that. Small cargo, presumably opium, sailing vessel. *pause* how close/far is the planned route heading past the Rebma Vortex. Kanna OOCly says, "That's my big worry." Beowulf OOCly says, "And Lily's right up there with us older-gen types, too. Though Bey's a lot younger than the calendar dates suggest. :)" Kanna OOCly says, "Time dilation, right. *wg*" Michelle says, "OOC The boat will be hugging the north shore of the gulf to avoid the shadow storms. It's a light coaster." Lian OOCly says, "That's okay, we're a lot older than calendar dates suggest, so it balances out. ;)" Beowulf OOCly says, "Plus studying at Panopticon always tend to mess up one's personal timeline. :)" Kanna OOCly nods. That puts it along Kozue's baliwick. Gonna have to be careful of that, but... well, okay, not THAT far, but they'll be able to respond faster. Kanna OOCly says, "such as it goes. So it'll be hugging the shore, which means it'll be partially visible... hmmm... who to lay the blame on." Beowulf OOCly says, "A sea monster? Worked for Nemo, after all. :)" Kanna OOCly says, "I'm actually leaning -against- Bloc Rebmaquois, since if the news spread, then they could safely claim non-responsible." Kanna OOCly hehs. Lian . o O ( OOC Blame it on pirates? ) Gabrielle says, "OOC: Why blame anyone? Have the boat quietly... dsappear. Ominously." Kanna OOCly says, "In that case, we need a pirate flag for 'em." Beowulf OOCly says, "And one of her forms is very reminiscent of the original Verne. :) And some fuzzy recollections of the incarnation in the Disney movie." Kanna OOCly says, "That's a thought, too." Beowulf OOCly says, "The tricky bit will be boarding her to determine the contents like you wanted, Kanna." Kanna OOCly nods. Unless there was a way to seperate and get on board... Kanna's worried, though. With everything, she wants to make SURE it's opium being smuggled. Lian asks, "OOC: Let's talk that over ICly?" Beowulf GRINS evilly. "OOC OTOH... how good did you say that disguise magic was, Lian? :) We *could* always use the Yellow Submarine shapeshift form..." Kanna OOCly snrks. Well, another night, then? :) Kanna OOCly says, "as I needs must sleep once more..." Lian says, "OOC: Give me some time, and images to work from ... :)" Kanna OOCly says, "Whee!" Beowulf OOCly says, "We'd need a fourth, though... Leave George out? :)" Beowulf OOCly says, "Sleep? Well... yes. o.o" Kanna OOCly says, "Gaby could be the fourth beetle...." Michelle laughs Gabrielle says, "OOC: There WERE four beetle... oh. " Lian OOCly wonders if they'll be flesh-eating Beatles. Kanna OOCly start giggling. Beowulf OOCly just grins. Kanna OOCly says, "We're the remaining 20th century Beatles! We've come for your pepper!" Beowulf OOCly adds, "Just not your motorized pepperpots!" Lian . o O ( The captain ahs and shouts down into the ship, "Hey, someone get Pepper up! There's people to see him!" ) Kanna OOCly says, "Yes, I have been up too late. This is starting to look like an attractive plan." Beowulf OOCly says, "You're *never* up too late for an attractive plan. " Kanna OOCly says, "... great." Kanna OOCly says, "now I need to write up Pepperland, TOO." Kanna OOCly says, "(which means rewatching the movie, but.... hey." Beowulf OOCly grins. "Contribution points, ne?" Lian sniggles OOCly. Poor you. Beowulf OOCly has it on DVD. Kanna OOCly needs to get a DVD player. ^_^; Beowulf OOCly says, "Pick up one of the older Cubes, before they pull 'em all and put in the CD-RW drive. :) Attractive prices..." Kanna OOCly hehs. "Ahwell, to bed now, I think. My writeup has been included now, and I am happy." Beowulf OOCly says, "Ayup. Sleep well... when will you be on tomorrow night, if we do wrap KUGAR early?" Michelle exclaims, "OOC G'nite!" Kanna OOCly says, "'bout 7ish likely, after commics and dinner." Michelle falls asleep. Somewhere on the muck, Akemi has disconnected. Beowulf OOCly says, "Well, we probably wouldn't be back and ready until at least 8 or 9 Central time." Beowulf OOCly says, "Might be a good time for a nap? :)" Kanna OOCly hehs. And again, good session. Lian . o O ( OOC: Naps are good. They allow late night gaming. ) Beowulf says, "OOC Exactly, Brem. :) And yah, Phil... good mind-blowing session. o.o" Gabrielle says, "I was amazed how you turned what I intended to be maybe three, four lineson Gabby's part into a big thing. *sweatdrop*" Kanna OOCly says, "You weren't expecting full analysis?" Beowulf OOCly says, "It's a lot easier to do these things when you've got several minds brainstorming. It was pretty awkward t'other night when I went it alone. o.o" Kanna OOCly says, "Well, I was waiting to drop this on SOMEBODY to give a good punch. ^_-;" Kanna OOCly says, "And yes, Kanna's been living with this for the past 10 years." Beowulf OOCly says, "Oh, you did, you did..." Gabrielle says, "Wow. She's amazinlgy well-adjusted for that." Lian grins. "I will be having too much fun annotating my copy of the prophecy." Kanna OOCly says, "Mostly focussed on the Juri Part of the prophesy." Kanna OOCly says, "which is HOW she maintained sanity. *wg*" Kanna OOCly says, ". o O (I don't know I don't WANT to know I'm just gonna gloss over theose weird parts.)" Beowulf OOCly says, "I do think it would be helpful to bring Lily in on it as well, but understand the security reasons. Mitsune... worries me." Lian says, "Don't worry about the Outsider stuff ... and frankly, after this prophecy me the player went AAAAAAARGH. OR something very close to it." Kanna OOCly says, "She was taking a big risk, yes, but given the timing of things... she had no clue on the chaos-possible stuff." Kanna OOCly says, "Again, the focus and goal for her hanging from Yig was to get info on how to rescue Aunt Juri." Beowulf OOCly says, "Of course, with John, you *know* that's not all of what it's gonna be." Shizumaru pages, "So, how was tonight?" to you. You page, "Very interesting brainstorming session." to Shizumaru. In a page-pose to you, Shizumaru nods. Kanna OOCly says, "Well, yeah. *Fwl*" The_Prof pages, "And I have some rather nasty suspicions about one part... but since it's OOC player knowledge and Bey doesn't have a clue about it yet, will have to stew in that part. o.o" to you. You page, "Right, right. *wl*" to The_Prof. Lian waitasecs ... the Walker in the Wastes? Uh-oh ... You page, "Why the sweatdrop? *wg*" to Mercutio. Mercutio pages, "I wasn;t expecting that I'd derail things so much. Aheh." to you. You page, "Well, we didn't -derail- per-se...." to Mercutio. Beowulf OOCly says, "We want to move back to the main room before you log off, Phil? Might be polite if John needs to use it." Lian says, "Might be a good idea." Kanna OOCly nods, and plans to. Mikaze has left. Amber Central(#3434RLJ) Tybalt has arrived. Windir has arrived. Kanna says, "Anyway... time to punch out, I think. *wg*" Beowulf says, "OOC Well, see you later, Phil? Sleep well. :)" Moriya says, "Night." Kanna OOCly wavewaves. Lian says, "Goodnight. :)"
